- I've Been doing a lot the past few weeks, so as always when I need a break, I made a Dragon speedpaint (in krita as always)
I called this on "Encounter" also my OC blaze is in it

Q:Do you use a tablet for digital art?
A: yes, I have a gaomon PD5160. I wouldn't recommend using a mouse for sculpting/ painting, it's really slow and kinda bad for your hands. A cheap pad tablet is pretty good to start with though, you don't need a fancy screen tablet.
Q: will you make a tutorial?
A: maybe, at some point. I'm still learning myself, and there are loads of people way more qualified to teach stuff.
I had a whole lot of fun painting this one, I enjoy fantasy paintings, and of coars dragons.
I also messed around with colors a lot and had tones of fun

Man starting a painting by sculpting out the shadows first is such a good idea! I usually work with flats first but I gotta try it!
your basic light and shadows are the most important part, so sometimes when I'm really planning out my painting I'll start with them, but usually I also start with flats

Krita users are such underrated masterminds, this is magnificent work. I love the colour palette and how warm you've made the foreground and background look together despite them being comprised of mixed tones. Hope to see much more from you

tho I'd highly recommend referencing actual trees (old oak trees are really god for this kinda thing) this one here was designed specifically with the dragon in mind so it might not work as well in other scenes

honestly no clue anymore, tho most of my full paintings take somewhere around 8 hours

there are a couple of pencil brushes by default that all work well

I haven't, don't worry, it was just in need of an update, (especially since I changed rose's design)and I had made this lil sculpt in blender so I used that
