    The best part of this video is the genuine misunderstanding the director has. In an interview, the band has stated the song is actually about dog training. When you read the lyrics, you see they’re right. It’s not the band who doesn’t understand the video, it the director who doesn’t understand the song...hence the perplexed band. The entire song is a pun

      to me that is one of the funniest things about Spinal Tap they actually are a good rock band musically it is just that their lyrics are so silly and they are ridiculous characters. I find that way funnier than a crap band because if they also had bad music it would be too much like a hat on a hat, but their good music kind of acts like the straight man in a comedy duo which their silly lyrics and jokes can work against.

    Nigel's Marshall stack design guitar is so ridiculous. I've seen the original movie many times and I've seen various concert performances and videos, but I've never seen that guitar. It's hilarious. They are so good at capturing the 70s and early 80s Rock and Roll excess. It's hard to believe that some Rock stars didn't think Spinal Tap was funny. Spinal Tap's music is better than the music they're parodying. They have the benefit of brilliant comedy writers making these videos and songs. "The Majesty Of Rock" is the funniest video I've ever seen. I wish Spinal Tap was real - although they do play their own instruments and sing the songs themselves.

    she chomped her lipstick. Back in the four grade, flavored chapstick came out. It was regular, spearmint, or cherry. Dude named lumpy sat right behind me. Chapstick fell out of my pocket, he rolled it all the way up and said ummm mint, then bite that shit off and swallowed it without even chewing! I still see him at the store and I crash my cart into his and bang shoulders, and say hey lumpy! I think he would still eat the chapstick!

    Profoundly moving! Movingly profound. Once again the lads capture the very essence of what '70's and '80's "Hair bands" were all about, and take it a notch higher!

    • @LuchaLibertaria
      @LuchaLibertaria 5 месяцев назад

      This is not about 80s 'Hair Bands' which's a silly umbrella term for 80s Hard Rock bands. This is a parody of a British Heavy Rock band that started in 1964 and changed its sound over the years. Have you watched the movie?

    • @georgecoventry8441
      @georgecoventry8441 5 месяцев назад

      @@LuchaLibertaria - Oh, yes, numerous times! I love it. The lads in Spinal Tap are heroes of mine, but above all Nigel! I am perfectly aware that the band in "Spinal Tap" reputedly started out in 1964 in the UK and changed its sound MANY times over the years...from early rock n' roll sounds like "Gimme Some Money" to "summer of love" style ballads like "Listen to the Flower People" (with Go Go girls dancing in the background), then moved on into Hard Rock or Heavy Rock, as you say, in the 70's, and went on from one glorious rock anthem to another up to the point where the movie finds them on tour in the mid-1980's. Yes, I know it's a parody. And a great one. Many people do use that silly term "Hair Bands" to describe long-haired hard rock bands...and that's why I used it. Because it's funny, that's why. You're not telling me one single thing that I don't already know about this hilarious movie, Mr LuchaLibertaria, so take your "fight for liberty" where it's actually needed, which is not under my post.
      I also know that David, Nigel, and Derek are played by 3 great American comedians (Michael McKean, Harry Shearer, and Christopher Guest) who brilliantly mimic British accents, and who actually play the music and who wrote the songs of Spinal Tap. Fantastic work on their part! I don't need your help with understanding this movie.

    • @LuchaLibertaria
      @LuchaLibertaria 5 месяцев назад

      @@georgecoventry8441 I love the movie as well. I wanted to mention this fictional band is from another era & another music scene. Also that silly 'hair band' term is thrown around a lot lately, at this rate I wouldn't be surprised to see people calling AC/DC or Status Quo 'hair bands'. Anyway hope this new movie will be as funny as the original one
