I expected this to show how you can actually see someone's browsing history from incognito sessions but it just told me exactly what I knew even back in 2012: It doesn't change how your internet works, the browser just doesn't log history or cookies on your end while you use incognito mode.
Congrats 🙄
I knew this already!
I still think, Incognito browsing is useful because you can look if you are shadowbanned or log into alt accounts without having to log out and cookies are deleted afterwards making it harder for the website owners to track what I have done.
But yeah, don't assume it's safe from the governments or profi hackers!
@Liron Segev first visit to your channel. I remember whilst I was young I was “ahead of the curve” where tech was concerned. I’m 47yrs old-and I’m shocked at the rate of tech innovation. I’ve accepted that I may be in need of “hardware upgrades” at my age, but I’m beginning to feel obsolete!
I’ve always lived by the assumption if I am willing to learn something that I will be able to adapt and learn it, or “Keep up.” I am realizing however that it is impossible to keep up with everything unless it is your career to do so (and even then I don’t know that is always the case!) I’m a nurse, and we don’t use Microsoft Office for intranet email. I used Gmail at home. So essentially I was shielded from MS Office for 8yrs; holy cow-. A recent career change humbled me with that lesson. I’ve spent so many evenings at home on RUclips to become familiar with MS Office shortcuts and tips. By the way if you have any particular channels/sources you recommend for picking up new software tips/time savers, please do share!
I appreciate the clear format, and finally someone explaining why I may/may not need a VPN. As I’m a person who never uses public WiFi connections or visits sketchy urls, I have no need. Thanks for saving me some bucks!

as a microsoft edge user. i pirated some games back then and i didnt want my isp to know about it, i knew incognito was unsafe so i realised i can just change from user to guest, it is much safer and if you are logged into a school im pretty sure it doesnt save anytihng
You opened a new incognito window while the other instance was still active. I might be wrong but if the initial instance never closed, it would still be counted to make two visitors (the arming and the incognito) but if you went straight into incognito mode by right clicking on the Chrome icon and selecting new incognito window, you wouldn’t have the problem of multiple visitors if you went to your website… but you’d never know how many people were visiting your site since you’d have to log in to see your traffic activity. Sort of like opening the refrigerator to see if the light ever turns off… more paradoxical “spooky science” to stir the einsteinian radicals lol.
I believe the "2" refers to your first view in regular mode, and now it sees your 2nd connection in incognito mode. Both from Dallas. You would probably have to wait a little for the backend to consider that you are no longer 'there'.

Thank you so much!
Why do so many people think that incognito/private browsing protects you from your ISP, websites, or trackers seeing your Internet activity? It never claimed to do that. No browser ever claimed that. I swear the reading comprehension of the human race has dipped to an all time low in recent years. Incognito/private browsing prevents other people who physically use the same computer as you from seeing what you did online while using the computer. That is what it does, and that is always what it has claimed to do. Again: incognito/private browsing prevents other people who physically use the same computer as you from seeing what you did while you were using the computer. It does NOT block your ISP, websites, trackers, or other online stuff from seeing what you are doing, and it has NEVER claimed to do this. Reading comprehension. Get some. Smh.
I always thought that works that way because I read the Incognito Mode Warning.
Besides, I used Incognito because I used my laptops together with my family.
why so mad tho
Dude it’s really not that big of a deal calm down 😂
I’ve seen some memes about it, like people wanting to search up something illegal like the Tiananmen Square Massacre and claiming they use incognito to look it up. Law enforcement will still see your activity even when you’re incognito. The secret ingredient is a VPN and Tor
Mad 🤡🤡
Well, they say that everyone has their FBI agent, maybe that's why it says "2 active connections"
Then in that case they’ve seen lots of..stuff😃

@@mr.mexican501 how do you know that stuffs?
Which is precisely Why Staying safe online is an ever growing difficulty and you could be exploited by hackers.
Welp I’m doomed
I just use incognito mode when I don't want certain sites showing up in my browsing history. And don't want chrome to auto complete or make suggestions to a particular site if I type po in the address bar. I'm not worried about anyone in the house deliberately searching my computer or the network for signs of my activity
I think the reason it says two users on the page when you go incognito is either because you are viewing it in two windows (one where it knows who you are and one where it doesn't) or because it hasn't finished referencing/using the cookie from the version where it knows who you are but that's just a guess.
I mostly just use incognito to search for weird things or disturbing things I don't want to leave in my search history I just don't want to randomly type something into the search bar and reminding myself of the atrocities I have searched
I don't know about other browsers, but at least Firefox, when you open it in incognito mode will give you a little info-box under the central search bar, saying that the icognito mode will not save any cookies nor website history, but your ISP and everyone else can still see your activity.
No surprises for me there
Thats absolutely how it says in the freaking manual of Firefox......
Most users dont read that stuff i get it, but if someone uses security-features they should know what those functions can do and what not.
I think its absolutely fine that my son cant see the websites i browsed in private mode and no coockies are left of that action because otherwise ads with my preferences would pop up.

This video was long overdue. Just the name, "incognito mode" makes it sound like you are truly invisible. As you demonstrated, this is completely incorrect.
