Yes they can see what sites you are on. All of that is recorded due to data retention laws. A workaround is using a VPN. Some VPNs do not keep logs. The other way they see this is by looking at your DNS lookups and you can get around that by using different DNS servers like OpenDNS. The DNS services Spectrum provides are terrible too. Every night at about 10:00pm, they would start failing on me for some reason and I can see my traffic hitting the firewall but then there are drops. They told me they couldn't find any reason. Switched it over to OpenDNS and haven't had the problem since.

I hope this makes sense just to add I did have Norton VPN on and it wouldn’t load the safari whilst there wifi was on but when I disconnected and turn off the internet loaded quickly again. I’m based in UK so not sure if it makes a difference
no, basically they can only see what you do on the wifi, they cannot see what you do on other wifis or cellular data, just strictly when you were connected to that one specific Wifi.
