I play the previous Zipcore model and absolutely love it. When my wedges need replacement I’ll definitely be going with the RTX6.
Cleveland/srixon make some great, underrated golf clubs. Have you tried any of the new srixon irons?
Yes they do! I tried the new irons briefly and thought they were solid, unfortunately just haven’t been able to get them in for review.
Srixon ZX 4 mk 2 my game changer. Just got fitted 2 weeks ago and broke 90
Good info but when filming for control and spin on wedges I think a video camera up by the target would show more to the potential consumer then from behind the golfer. Just my opinion 🤷🏼♂️
Hey TEJ,
Are these significantly improved vs prior models? Interested if you think the tech has moved the needle that much here vs Cleveland just making good wedges in general
I think it’s quite tough to make “significant” improvements in things like wedges so I would say no. With that being said, I certainly don’t find them worse than the RTX5’s, just tough to say they are, “improved” as I guess that really comes down to the consumer themselves and what they see in terms of performance + value.

In my experience I didn’t find the HydraZip laser patterning to really add much in wet conditions and I don’t love the hosel to leading edge transition on the 6’s. Actually my all time favorite Cleveland wedges still remain the RTX4’s in which I think the shape, feel and soles are really unmatched.
Can a mid handicap play this wedges?
Curious if you happened to see TXG’s testing of these wedges? They found significantly better wet ball/wedge performance than what you got.
Thanks for the question, I just checked it out. Looks like they only did a 50 yard shot and I agree did see a difference in spin from what I got. That being said, I also took these on the golf course and hit chips/pitches/longer shots with water on the face and ball and noticed exactly the same thing my numbers showed. Shorter shots just simply didn’t spin as much when wet, but longer shots were decent. It’s one of those things where certainly it can vary, player by player/tester by tester, but I do stick by the testing I did and numbers I showed 👍
It’s also possible we had different amounts of water on the faces/ball which could have caused the inconsistency; But by the looks of their video, both of our testing was quite similar and both were done on GC Quad as well.
@@TheEquipmentJunkie thanks for the reply and definitely appreciate the wider variety of shots you hit plus taking them on-course!
@@MrZwiner Of course! Appreciate your support!
Did you notice if the balls we’re getting chewed up?
Yes they were, especially after really clipping them. Pretty standard nowadays for new wedges 👍
Hmmm you may have tilted my thinking... been looking for some new wedges. Thanks for the review! Maybe Ill be using these in the next season of @myapproachgolf 0_0
Glad you enjoyed it!
