Very insightful, thanks mate - I just bought TWO brand new Cobra snakebite wedges for £150 to replace his old Cleveland RTX 588 models - but that was for loft reasons, not shiny. Went from 56/60 to 54/58 - my gap is 49.
Our pro shop is selling their remaining SM9s for $109 brand new. Picked up a 52 and 56. I'm sure I can thin them across the green just as well as the SM10s!
My new SM10 wedges are so much fun. I could improve my short game massively. They bring so much confidence to my game. Wouldn't give them away again for any price. And I could order exactly the lofts and grinds I wanted (Iona Stephen's setup works perfect for me) 🤗 Couldn't get those as SM9. That's the point. With the latest clubs you can order what you want. I don't care for the price since I will use them 4, 5 or more years I assume.
Picked up a 60 degree a grind sm9 that was only used for a couple of rounds for €50. Best thing about new wedges coming out is the deals you can get on the previous gen model. The sm9 I got was essentially new, all I did was get it regripped with a tour velvet align midsize grip. For €70 I have essentially a brand new wedge exactly the way I want it
Love my SM9's. (never thoguht I'd be saying that as I never could justify bying them new) bought 50,54,58 for $100 AUD a wedge from a mate... were in top nick after a good clean up!
Great vid SAS. Thank you. Also, your last video on used (lake) balls vs. new was four years ago. With companies like lost golf balls, two guys with balls, etc. and better technology. It would be great to see a new video. There are few if any we ( your subscribers) trust more. Thank you.
I'm gaming a 56 degree SM6 I got used for $70. It was a trade in at my local shop from a guy who was obviously very good as the part of the face that matters to me (aka everything except the sweet spot) looked brand new. Probably someone who gets new wedges/clubs every year. And for my 17 handicap self who couldn't hit the middle of the face if my life depended on it, that's good enough for me
Almost too many options to make sense of. Can never understand what grind is best as surely when it’s dry and firm you need a different option than when it’s wet, which is every other week in the UK?!
Got 3 brand new sm9’s a few days ago for £87 each ! Buzzing
Amazing, where did you get them from? 🤷♂️

Another class video. Can't wait till the days are longer and i can go and play on the short game area. Love messing with wedges 👍
Just picked up a sm9 50 and 58 degree in the black finish in pretty mint condition for $133 all together
Great to have you back Simon! Very interesting vid
Newbury & C ! What a delightful course. You hear it a lot but it’s a genuine hidden gem.
Got new RAM tour grind wedges £45 each and Kirkland Golf balls zero complaints
Great information as usual mate 👍
Please please please do a comparison video of the SM10 vs MG4 Wedges. Post 6 month of use review would be so good.
Friend of mine got a set of 3 last years vokeys ex-demo (but never left the shop or hit a ball) for £120.
Amazing, where did you get them from?
@@grantleslie4298 They were sat in a Pro shop gathering dust. Never used and i'm guessing were demo models the Pro didn't pay much for.
@@thehairygolfer amazing - great result 👏
@@grantleslie4298 It certainly was for my mate.
One i would say is they're not forged. Vs mizunos and current ping glide tour.
What I wanted to know is: should I keep using my banged-up, chrome-stripped SM5s, or should I look into getting me some SM10s?
Another quality vid mate

Simon- do you custom fit used clubs?
I got 2 sm9 wedges last year and my wedge game has never been worse. Need to swap them asap
I'm buying as many SM9's as I can when I find them... because almost $200 bucks for a SM10's is kinda crazy...

Had sm9 54 hope this sm10 is as soft as they say
Just picked up 3 sm8 for £200
All is good unless your left handed
A new SM means golf geeks are dumping their perfectly good older wedges.
