Washer and dryers in the kitchen is very very common in the UK. We tend to have a counter top with a space underneath it for a washing machine to fit.
Really? I'm British and never seen that. Mine is in a room that is only accessible through my kitchen.
@@yourhomophobicuncle Probably depends where you are too. Under the counter appliances are in basically every house in the Midlands, I see it in the North a lot too
@@vOID-fh1qt I'm in the north. Never seen it. I have a dishwasher but not washing machines in my kitchen
@@yourhomophobicuncle You're missing out
i grew up in the midlands so always had a washing machine in the kitchen, i moved to wales last year and my landlord asked me where i want the washing machine now, in the kitchen on tiled floor or upstairs on a carpet area? obviously the kitchen for me!
I actually have a laundry room now in my new apartment which is nice cuz I can close the door if I get unexpected guests. I can hide my unfinished laundry 🤣
this laundry room looks so cozy. you could just hang out in there while your clothes dry
Laundry is in the kitchen in the UK for pretty much everyone, unless you live somewhere with a communal laundry room, or you’re lucky enough to have a house with a dedicated laundry room. The washing machine is usually under the counter next to the sink, and then the dryer is wherever you have space. Our houses are pretty small so it just makes sense for us.
The same in ireland too
I think the basement is a pretty common area for them (3 houses I've been in) or a small designated area off the kitchen/main floor bathroom to tie in the water easier
Or garage
I'm Brazilian, our laundry "room" is usually a corner in our backyard.
Or an extension of the kitchen if it's an apartment
We have a laundry room that also has our guinea pigs in it. So, we have their cages, a table, and the washer and dryer. It was intended as just a laundry room, but it has plenty space for the guinea pigs.
Ours is in the basement actually. Works well and honestly it’s life changing to not have to go to a laundromat or wait for everyone else in the apartment to not be using the few provided machines.
having the washing machine in the kitchen is quite common in spain. we dont use dryers though
My washer is in the cramped entryway and the dryer is all the way in the basement. Not convenient at all, but it is the way the plumbing is set up, so it seems like it won’t be changing anytime soon…
In the bathroom for me but I would absolutely love to have a dedicated laundry room like this one day even if just a small one
I live in midwest US. Ours is in the mud room, I hate having my laundry room being the same room that everyone walks through to get to and from the garage, clean clothes and mud rooms do not go hand in hand. It’s becoming more popular for that to be the go-to-place to put laundry rooms (it’s weird). In our previous houses that were built in 1920s and 40s the laundry room was in the basement, which I prefer, I had room to put up drying racks and I didn’t need to worry about kids and dogs knocking my clean clothes around.
laundry rooms seem like such a luxury thing to me, like the first time i ever even seen one was in my partner's parents' house and they're pretty loaded. i've only ever lived in old rental houses that had laundry hookups in spooky basements or apartments with tiny closets that just barely fit a washer and dryer or simply wound up using the complex's laundry room or a laundromat. in the duplex i live in now, our hot water heater is in a little utility closet out the back door so i gatta herd the cats inside every time i need to do laundry 🤣 if we do ever get an actual real life house that is ours, i will poop my pants if it has an actual laundry room. i like these little room series' you do, they're fun to watch and get ideas from- in fact if we ever have an honest to god laundry room, i'll use one of your builds as inspo
Washer and Dryer are typically in a small room in the basement where i live.
ours are in the kitchen.. though we do also have hook ups for them in the basement (in a tiny utility room with the water heater and furnace..) and they were down there for a while.. though my health got to a point where the stairs weren't exactly safe for me.. esp if i was carrying things... so back to the kitchen they went... my health is back on the upswing and we are considering making some renovations to the basement and expand the bathroom in the basement and move the laundry into there.. so hubby can come in through the back door down there, drop of grubby yard and project dirty stuff and go straight to a shower... lol... will be a lil while before that happens though...
When u first walk into my house (a double-wide trailer), u walk into a small room, maybe 3x3 in TS4, to ur left there's a large freezer standing upright, & in front of is the washer, w/ the dryer beside it, in front of the freezer. To ur right is an archway into the kitchen, & the rest of the house
In my house (British) we have a utility room that’s connected to the kitchen with an arch way (the utility room also has the door to the half bathroom downstairs as well)! :D
Kitchen, and it's super common where i live
I live in the Uk and it’s very common for it to be in the kitchen, but personally I have a whole room separate for washing but my dog’s stuff is also in there 😊
this could not be me. i’m not creative like thisss😭😭 i love this sm
My laundry is in the basement, it’s cold and gross and everytime I accidentally drop something when switching machines it falls on the dirt floor and I instantly regret every choice I’ve ever made in life
Kitchen. It's very common in my country. Also, having a washer in your apartament. Laundromats aren't a thing here.
It's avrually very common to have the washer and dryer in the kitchen in Europe
Growing up we used our washer and dryer as counters to make food on cause there was no room in the kitchen otherwise.
In my apartment the laundry machine is in the balcony 😅; here in Italy dryers are not common because of the weather and culture probably
Mine is in a tiny room (you could say two closets in one). But WOW that’s a big laundry room
Our washing machine is in the hallway and the dryer is on the balcony which can be accessed from my bedroom
closet in the hallway next to the kitchen :)
Mine and my SO's is in our pantry granted its not stacked but a side by side.
in my house there's a washing machine in the kitchen. we dry the clothes outside the house.
My washer and dryer are in my kitchen 🥲
ours is in out kitchen! not sure if its a british thing tho because i knows most of my friends & family also have theirs in the kitchen too
I’m from Australia and I have a separate laundry room that’s right next to the bathroom.
Our washer is in the kitchen and the dryer is in the entryroom or what
Its very common in europe that its in the kitchen
I don't think I have the english excellence to explain but I will try my best xD So at the end of the Kitchen (opposite to the door), I have a separate part for the laundry. It's transparent (but with details so you don't see clearly) so I don't lose the light that comes from the only window I have xD
My laundry is actually in my closet in my room!!! Super convenient!
My washer and dryer are in the kitchen behind an obnoxious folding door that blocks door to the garage when it’s open. I built our house in the sims specifically to try to figure out if we could fix it. There’s not much we can do unfortunately
In Spain, washing machines are normally in the kitchen
In my parents' apartment washer is in the bathroom, and when I was renting an apartment, it was in the kitchen 😂
My laundry room is in my kitchen in a little closet by the back door
My laundry is in the back of my house, the furthest area from my house
My washer is in my kitchen
We do not have a dryer all though we have
A rack to dry our clothes on outside!
My washer and dryer is in my kitchen
We keep the washer and dryer in the basement
Well iny house we have like a separate room for laundry and like in that room we also iron our clothes in there so like yeah enjoybur day to whoever is reading this know that you are loved! (Not on my phone so *instert heart emoji*
In the basement lol
on the balcony
Uhm my washing machine stays outside, like a ... Laundry area outside with a roof just for it and those lines to hang your clothes on
Even in the few apartments ive ever stayed at a "laundry room" wasnt really a thing, it was usually just a wall separating it from the kitchen usually but not big enough to be a room
Like a laundry corner i guess
Maybe its just not common around my money demographic or just not common in my country, who knows really lol
My washing machine is in my kitchen. I don't have a dryer.
I’m from uk washing machine is in the kitchen and the dryer is in the toilet downstairs
My washer and dryer are out in the boiler room
My washing machyne in the kitchen, is that all
Hii can u pls do a base game one as I am not allowed packs
my laundry room is in my garage 😅
It's in my basement😂
How did she move the second basket up ?????
What pack is the wallpaper from?

A basic game one
My laundry room's in my basement... carrying a big load of laundry up and down the stairs is a pain 😭 but the machines r in the open
(Worst thing is I've been scared of basements my whole life)
Mine is in the basement too, honestly shocked me the first time I heard people have dedicated rooms for this/aren't in the basement. Can agree though, carrying laundry up and down the stairs is annoying but I would hate to have it anywhere else.
this room looks so good omg! in spain we usually have our washing mashine in the kitchen and even having a dryer isn't as common as in other countries (we usually hang our clothes to let them dry by themselves)
Lo bueno de tener sol prácticamente todos los días del año lol
My husband was really confused when he heard “it’s laundry week” he thought you were really doing it once a month for a moment until I’m like uh, it’s a sims video
My laundry room is basically part of my mud room.
I live in the United States and we have our washer/dryer in the kitchen! It's in a closet that you would think is a pantry, but it's not 😅 Pretty common in the townhouses around us in Tennessee.
our washer and dryer is in the garage, i've lived in a lot of houses and i have always had them in the garage
mine is in a separate room, but it’s also the same room we keep our cleaning supplies as well as our cats litter box 😂
Beautiful room! I live in Colombia 🇨🇴 and it is very common here to have the laundry room next to or inside the kitchen
It’s common in Europe to have the washing machine in the kitchen. We ripped out a hallway closet to move the washer and dryer in the space that opened and then put a cupboard above them.
Its not common in europe. Its only in some countries. I live in belgium and we put our washingmachine in the garage. Some people have in the bathroom and some in a seprate room. But never in the kitchen. The only time i saw this was in Malta. I do my intern here, but Malta was a former colony if the english. They also have the same éducation system. Other than malta, it was not common in other countries i had visited.
@@sarahcharif1627 It’s common in Eastern countries and I am talking mostly about older apartments which are usually small and don’t have garages, pantries, wetrooms, etc. The bathrooms are not big enough to fit a washer that won’t get wet, so the other place with water outlets is the kitchen.
@@sarahcharif1627 I'm from Belgium too and you are right. Our washer is in a little seperate room next to the kitchen, together with our freezer and a second small fridge. There's also some cabinets to put house stuff and food/drinks away and a small sink (in Dutch we call it a 'berging', a kind of storage room).
Washers are never in the kitchen by design in Belgium and it's very rare, never seen it myself.
If there is no seperate room for the washer, than it often will be in the garage or in small houses/appartments with little place to spare the washer will be in the bathroom or hallway in a seperate closet.
Would love to have a big whole room dedicated to laundry, but even in bigger houses here it's mostly not common. 😁
If only seen these kinds of room on American and Australian tv-shows, so having a room specific for laundry in real life sounds very luxurious to me, since not many people have them here. ☺️
As a Scandinavian, it's definitely not common here. It's either the bathroom or communal. I've seen one laundry room irl in my life and it was in the walk in pantry in some overly expensive apartment we toured.
In the kitchen, pretty common in the uk. When I was in uni/college there was a laundromat on the dorms, wouldn’t mind room just for laundry though. My in laws gave theirs in the hallway leading to their back garden along with the fridge
Ashley: I dont know how to build a laundry room
Continues to build the cutest laundry room
Great room! It sounds more bizarre to me as a Brit that it has its own room.
It's in our entry room/mud room. We have a small house so it's super crammed in there. It's literally my dream to be able to have a whole laundry room with nothing else major in it. I'm so old for only being 17.
We’ve had the W/D in the kitchen when we lived in older military housing. A whole room still feels like a luxury.
That’s ac gorgeous
I'd love to see like laundry room mudroom mix
A tiny laundry room!
Also our laundry room isnt really a laundry room as my washer is in the kitchen by the sink, and my wash line to dry clothes is outside. I wish I had a little more space for a laundry room. One day I'd really like to have a front loader to have my drier (which is rarely used as we don't have a lot of electricity in South Africa) sit upon
Wow, that is a posh laundry room. Where is the basket on the counter from?
Laundry rooms (or as we call them, utility rooms) here in the UK are unusual. My house has one.. sort of, it is the corridor to the garage lol so it's narrow it has counters and a sink. Most UK homes have washing machines and tumble dryers in the kitchen or sometimes in the garage.
Most washing machines are in the kitchen in the UK, as our water pipes we need to connect to the washers, are in the kitchen. I think people just put their dryer in the kitchen too so it isn't a far distance to walk before getting to the dryer. :)
My laundry room is in My basement😭☠️
(In rl)
mine is in the kitchen but like not where the kitchen stuff is it’s separate
Kitchen it’s very popular in the uk❤
I have my washer and dryer in the basement.
It’s in our mud/ laundry room
Mines in the hallway. Way better than my old apartment where it was a regular washer and dryer shared by all 8 tenants. Had to pay to wash and dry. Running to the laundry shed in the rain sucked. Love this laundry room!
I have mine in my garage 😅
Honestly, I forgot that laundry rooms in the sims existed 😅
The Sims 4 allows you to do laundry by hand with a washboard which is great for energy-conscious households, and afterwards, you can put them up to dry on the drying rack 😅
The Sims 3 Ambitions comes with laundromats and laundry for the first time. You can use the washer and dryer, and you can also dry with the drying rack. No way to wash clothes by hand though.
Laundry for me was always in the basement in my house growing up and also in my new apt.
In the Midwest, it is VERY common to place the laundry rooms in the basement
In the UK (standard home) all dryers and washing machines are in the kitchen.
My laundry room is in the garage it’s very cold
My laundry room is outside on my back porch I have a laundry room but, it’s and older house and I think it had to be added on a long time ago I hate it because especially when it’s freezing cold or really hot having to stand out here folding clothes it’s in a room but it’s like an outside laundry lol if that makes sense
My laundry room is in my basement, in the same room as our furnace and all of that, though the furnace other stuff is kinda tucked away into a corner. The hose for our washer that drains out the dirty water isn't connected to anything though, so we have to keep it in the sink that we don't use. we always have to make sure that nothing is clogging the drain because we have had floods in the past.
My laundry room is a separate room with loads of space and storage. It’s off the kitchen and you have to go through the pantry to access it
I love the modular cabinets, but they always disappear! I save, reopen, and they're gone. So annoying.
I'm from Poland and in my country almost everybody have washing machines in bathroom😁
Mine and my husband’s apartments have all had laundry hook ups in closets, and either in or near the kitchen. However My parents’, grandparents’, and MIL’s houses have all have dedicated laundry rooms, but never near the kitchen. Strange, that.
My laundry room is so small. I just have a washer, a dryer, a shelf for food and kitchen appliances, freezer, and a litterbox. I can barely walk in there and it's always dark.
I always thought it was weird the people had their laundry machines in their kitchen until I remembered that in this one house I lived in when I was like 3 had a washer and dryer in the kitchen 😂
