iPhone in recovery mode? Don't restore it without trying this first!

- Have an iOS device in recovery mode? Have data on it that isn't backed up (i.e. photos, videos, contacts, etc)? Do NOT restore it in iTunes without trying not to get it out of recovery mode by other means first! You will LOSE all un-synced data if you recover it with iTunes.

THANK YOU soon much for this video. I am still using my iPhone 6SE (yes, I'm that awesome in 2019), and I recently connected it to my Mac. HUGE MISTAKE. My phone went into recovery mode. I spoke with techs from Apple for couple of hours in attempts to get my phone out of recovery mode without restoring since i've never backed up my phone (again, awesome). Long story short...after calling data recovery firms, it was YOUR video that saved my phone which had photos from trips for the past 3.5 years. Thank you again!!!!

Worked for me. iPhone 5S. Tried to use my laptop first to recover but since I haven’t used in over a year, it’s all out of date. Messages saying I need OSX 10.11.4 and iTunes 12.8. RecBoot saved the day in 3 minutes! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I thought I was going to loose all the pictures from my vacation on my IPhone 6. I went to down load my pictures when Itunes told me an needed to update. Got an error message during update and put in Recovery mode and never left. I did and didn't back up first. Talked to Apple and they told me I would have to restore which meant I would loose the pictures. This worked and I didn't loose anything. Thanks again.

Omg it took so long I ended up pushing the home button and it turned on! I was terrified everything would be gone but it worked. I am crying so hard. It's not even just this, I couldn't even ask my dad, the systems analyst who fixes everyone's pc's bc he just had a massive brain hemmorage and couldn't even work the toaster yesterday. AMAZING! Thank you Rice Is For Dinner. I was trying all the steps provided by Apple on different computers and all the their boards to no avail. My iPhone 6s was fixed in 2 minutes after downloading Rec Boot for free. iTunes kept trying to open and Rec Boot was seeing the phone every time I closed it, but wouldn't see it when it opened. I closed iTunes 6-8 times while quickly clicking Exit recovery Mode on Rec Boot. It finally worked!!! Thanks Again!!!

I decided to finally update software on my phone till it crashed and the above message which you are now displaying on screen appeared. I was waiting for iTunes to update the software on phone, panicked as didn't want to lose any of my data etc so installed Reboot, selected exit recovery mode and voila! it worked alhumdullilah doing my back up on iTunes! so thank you :)

if you encounter the problem which say 'the update server could not be contacted' , you just have to turn off the firewall. it worked!

Thanks very much it worked for me I downloaded iTunes on my windows laptop and it took about 1 hour but got my iPhone out of recovery mode.
Luckily everything was saved to icloud.I was without a phone for a week and felt abandoned,Glad I followed your video and saved a few pounds by doing it myself.

i hate theses iPhones tbh no one should have to go through all this stupidness to keep there phone running/ or working again. my phone just randomly went dead on me?? now it stuck on the apple logo then two minutes later goes in to a red screen..then try to reboot it self again. it stupid !!! to be honest it almost like the phone is damaging it self with out me or any body else self inflicting any damage to there phone.. honestly who ever developed the apple iPhone or iPads are pure idiots

I just had apple store replace my phone's6 battery, @ $38/phone kept shutting off, apple store said it was the battery and now I am going to sell it & buy the Samsung Galaxy 8 Note, I hear they are great. Got 2 friends just got one. Damn, I have an apple macBook Pro my kid gave me I've never had problems with it & would like to get a newer one, this one I'v had since 2009 & it too needs a new battery.

It’s in recovery mode, iTunes won’t find it, will have to sell it for “parts” now...
You might try on dfu mode first
Look up “dr fone” it will fix it

My Iphone6 was in the middle of updating IOS 10, when shit out of nowhere it showed me the restore screen. I cant even successfully restore it because i get the error message saying the upadte server could not be contacted, got the message on two different computers, THIS IS BS. please help.

So I dropped my phone and the screen broke and it would randomly call & facetime my contacts. It also would awaken and go crazy with all these passcode attempts. Long story short, my 6s Plus is now disabled! A couple days ago I had screen repaired and now just trying to figure out how to get back into my phone w/o having to erase phone. I was out of town when screen broke, visiting my father who was just diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and I have photo's & video of him that I'm trying to keep. Everything was backed up before I left. Just really trying to preserve data because of what I just took of him. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

well thats not the iphones problem... its your problem, let me tell you why, because you cracked the screen and there is a thing called a digitizer in the screen that recognises and responds to touch which lets you use touch screen. you have cracked the digitizer and need to get the screen replaced. its not the phones fault its yours.

I've looked everywhere for complicated solutions and of course, none of them worked. To FIX this problem all you have to do is make sure Itunes is running the latest version. After making sure it is, click on Itunes with your IDevice connected to your computer/laptop, and simply click "restore". The first time I tried it didn't work, but the second did, so if it doesn't work right off the bat, try a few more times and you'll sure get your results.

When I did Exit Recovery Mode my phone started flashing from the black apple logo with the white background and the plug to itunes symbol, Wont stop and just continues to do it. Any feedback is appreciated

my iPhone has been in recovery mode for the past MONTH and I still have not found a solution. My iPhone will download the update files but once it gets to the extracting part, it will say an unknown error occured.. I still need to try this method. praying to god hoping this will work!

hey manita, you should try these steps in order to get some free space,
go into settings, scroll down till you can see the photos & camera icon, open it.
disable all the settings in it (icloud photo library, my photo stream... etc).
and here you go! you have like 5 GBs free space again!

Nikki Athans If you have a backup file of your iphone, you can restore it from that backup file and not lose all of your data.
I just had this problem and I went to the Apple support website and it said quickly press the volume up button and quickly press the volume down button and then hold the power button until the Apple logo comes on and it worked now my phone is back to normal

I was having the problem where my iPhone would neither update or restore and would give me error messages for both. Tried recboot didn't work for me. Looked elsewhere and downloaded reiboot. Now look you do have to pay, I paid $30 for 1 month and oh my lord it was able to take my iPhone out of recovery mode, I was legit so upset when I tried so many things and they weren't working. So if you're facing the same problem that's what I did to fix it :)

i restore the iphone a couple of times , remove the cabke and what i did after is hold press the home button and volume button together and after that i got an apple logo updating without the itunes and i got back on the screen without the itunes and wire logo

It kinda worked. It's no longer in recovery mode but it's now in restart mode? It keeps restarting, not even fully (The apple logo keeps coming back then the phone turns off and it keeps doing that).

Hey guys I know who to reboot your iPhone iPad or iPod Touch with iTunes: 1 download iTunes 2 if it said errors occurred during the installation then I have the solution: right click iTunes setup witch should be in your downloads then run it as administrator I think that’s what it’s called then it should be downloaded without any errors then you can reboot your iPhone without installing other applications

Thanks so much for this. I had an error message that said "cannot connect, value is missing". when i connected recboot, it said unknown device. I clicked the go into recovery tab and it then gave me an option to recover. without this i would have been stuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
