One of the perks of growing up in LA. We use to skate up to the strip and sit in the parking lots listening to them before we were old enough to get in, then seeing them at the Forum every time they came through, truly a gift.
I guess having a dog around really brought out the best in Dave! Eddie’s talent…nothing like it. It’s flawless. It’s been 2 years and I still can’t believe he’s gone. The music industry lost a treasure when he passed away.
That's not just a dog. That's an Australian blue healer..... a cattle dog, one of the toughest dog breeds on the planet, and one of the smartest.... I had one, his name was Ralph...
I have a full blooded blue healer, and her name is Roxie girl, let me tell you, these are not just normal dogs, but literally imprints with you and family like no other k9 species, definitely the smartest dog I've ever had, they listen to everything, you can see the intelligence in their eyes, I've had German shepherds that were very smart, but they also have a roaming gene from wolves still, the Shepards are the smartest, but Australian shepherd is the smartest, and blue healers are the top of the pile, they usually have merle tri color patterns, red, tan, black, white, but Roxie has almost solid black coat w white star on nose, and shorter hair than her brothers and sisters. These dogs are amazing to put it lightly, they follow around like glue, constantly guarding you, they love rides in cars trucks, and going places, they are easily adapted to any environment, situation, and very fast runners for their early years. The fastest dog I ever trained by long shot when a pup to stay in yard using the flag method, within a couple days, and she never has ran off or away. I tell anyone everyone that wants a dog to get them, and wherever I go with her(I take her everywhere) ppl always says how sweet, and smart she is.
As long as van halens music is still around He's never truly gone and he passed his skill to 2 people that I know of one is wolfgang and the other is dweezle zappa in turn Eddie van halen will live on But that's my opinion
For sure, was never a super huge Van Halen fan, but Eddie is unreal, the absolute heart and soul of the band, without him they are a pub band. To this day, Sammy Hagar still refers to him as a musical genius. Looks like he’s having a great time in the video, unfortunately his demons got the best of him, I understand those demons. RIP Eddie.
“ Beautiful Girls” really came to life in this acoustic version ! WOW ! This is the reason Van Halen is so entertaining because David Lee Roth is the personality of Edward’s brilliant guitar and music !
Van Halen Unplugged! 👏🏻😊 What’s most noticeable is the absence of Alex’s big drum sounds from his kit. But I really like this anyway! 👏🏻🎸😊 And I find it really sad how quickly we lost Eddie. I still can’t completely believe it that he’s gone now. Mainly because it was so fast and I don’t want to accept that he’s gone from this world already. There will never be another player like him. He was like an alien from another planet sent here to show everyone what is possible. Thank you EVH! RIP 💐
I guess you haven't seen the tribute to Taylor Hawkins hosted by Dave Grohl, Wolfie plays Panama and Hot for teacher on guitar, he sounds just like his old man, yes there is another Van Halen. Check out the video.
I think Michael Anthony is conspicuously absent isn't he? He is such an integral part of their sound and gets little credit at times. He sang, played, bass, was impeccable, on time, reliable, just the reliable part alone, was more than worth his weight in gold in that business. He is a gem for sure.

Love seeing how much joy Dave gets from putting together a good performance. Utter professionals. His banter fits so perfectly. These guys are in their element here.
The middle break of Panama is incredible. Dave and Ed are a perfect pairing and it shows in that breakdown, they know each other's tones so well, even if they wouldn't be friends ever. Really cool!
This proves almost more than anything they still got it. No production at all, just raw live footage with no FX and straight vocals. Hail to the kings!
Love Eddie's acoustic work on "Panama" and "Beautiful Girls". Meaty and different from the electric sound we're all familiar with. New twist that worked.
Amazing video. First time in my entire life that I see Dave relax and jam spontaneously and just be himself. Eddy , Alex, and Wolf are obviously having a blast. Great rendition of Panama.
At first it seems Ed and Al are uncomfortable looking in this format, but Dave just smooths it over. And you can tell this is where Dave's heart has been all along. Cool stuff.
Ed and Al are shit scared that Dave will bring all the lies that Ed has said about Dave over the years but Dave doesn't care anymore. When Ed finally realizes Dave doesn't care anymore, he starts to relax. Poor Eddie I really wish he could have told the truth once in a while. Sad thing is Eddie's son Meatloaf2 is just as bad as Eddie when it comes to lying.
This is lovely, it's where these guys are at the moment and they are having fun doing it. There's always a problem with that on the internet, people want to find fault and push away the gratitude that this is music that won't be around forever. David Lee Roth is singing better here than he has for years and people still want to criticise. There's beauty in all this honest, you just need to let go of what should/could/needs to be and enjoy what it is...
Wow - that sounds great. I listened to the acoustic over and over from around 2:07 to 4 something - just beautiful. Dave is hilarious in Panama - not taking himself seriously and it still sounds great. I love Eddie's famous shtty grin while playing - great shots. Alex is just too cool.
This is so rockin' man! They sound great. Guitars, percussion, vocals, bass, backups, sound quality, great! When you go raw like this there's no hiding shortcomings, either you got or you don't and they all got it! Glad to see Dave back. This is amazing man!
I wonder how many human-hours of blissful fun and life-changing inspiration this band has provided humankind? Billions and billions at least. Amazing. Thank you!!
What can be said - Dave is large and in charge...it's all about improv and entertainment and that is what DLR is all about...never perfect, proper or predictable and I wouldn't have it any other way...long live VH! Great jobs guys.
Eddie was pure talent, David Lee Roth was pure personality and the reason he got kicked out is because the name of the band is Van Halen and maybe he was taking too much attention away from the rest of the band.
That was fun! Wow! I’ve never seen this before. So good. And it all starts and emanates from Eddie. Narrated perfectly by Dave. Eddie and Wolfgang smiling in sync makes it magical.
Dave was always flamboyant, a real stage show and a party for the eyes. His singing was NEVER stellar. He was part of a band that changed my life and alot of others. I heard Eruption and its been on since. Its nice to see Ed really enjoying himself. Anyone that learned to play using a 33rpm record player knows how much time, love, heart and soul Ed and these guys put into the making of Van Halen. Thanks to all the boys for making those incredible, stone, rolla bone cruises with the speakers cranked to the max:D
Hmm never stellar huh? Pretty fuckin original back in the day and the only singer with that banshee scream and the only singer who could do that and two notes at once came out. Pretty damn awesome
You know, this is a classic tape. I honestly think Dave gets overexcited on a large stage today and his over reaction causes him to loose the tone. He is so relaxed here , no pressure, just fun. If he could bring his relaxed presence onto the stage I really feel he would sing every song perfectly! Relax brother! You already made it! And you are back together! And Eddie is sober! Which is truly wonderful for him and God Bless! Alex looks great and smiling! Long live VH!
What a gem! And what fun this is! I think Dave acquits himself quite nicely. Alex looks like he's diggin' it and of course Eddie's having a good time. Does he ever not? The harmonies are pretty darn close to the original. Two thumbs up!
Pure love the Van Halen. I was there at the beginning of the first Album thank you Pure magic an pure chaos just the best. The excitement the new music the guitar playing drums bass guitar pretty cool and Dave and David Lee Roth man he was good

I have never seen or heard this before. Pretty damn good!🎼 You can just feel it in Eddie's eyes haha Where the f is diamond Dave goin now! They sound fabulous 🎶 Thank You for sharing.
Love him or hate him, you have to admit DLR knows how to host a show and spin a yarn. Great frontman. His voice may have lost a step or two, but he still has game. You can also see the love the Eddie has for him, despite the crap over the years. Kinda like John and Paul. If you ever said anything bad about Paul in front of John, he'd tear a strip off you that you'd never forget. I suspect the same is true here.
His voice was ok live. But he never could place the words and lyrics in the correct phrasing or on the correct accents and beats. He did in the early days though. But during the Fair Warning tour he started to become less careless about the live sound and more concerned with his image. But with that said, Dave always held his own right up until the end....after the 1984 tour.
This is totally awesome! Great generation of musicians passing it down to a new generation. The acoustic work is great! Roth is simply the best, better at 60 than the majority of trash that is sold to us today as music.
Ed and Al did not stop smiling, and Dave was feeling the spirit. All of them here were tapped into that Van Halen magic, that thing that only they hold the keys to. At the end of Panama Dave got young again for a minute. He was feeling that holy Van Halen energy like a shot of the world's best drug. God blessed these guys.
David Lee Roth and the Van Halen Bros in the same band is unnatural. It's way too much talent. It's like Jimi Hendrex joining Led Zepplin. It's like Motzart and Beethoven writing music together. It's completely unnecessary.
Both their lead singers are very nice people…..I’ve met Sammy Hager down at Cabo Wabo while on vacation……down to earth and very positive person…….he did a live show for us, and bought the bar two rounds of booze……….he sounds so good live…..you can tell why he is a paid musician…….best song was , “I can’t drive 55 and a few VH hits”……awesome guy
@@eddie-sf7hnthat’s why they became a super group!……talent in every position…..Alex is a master drummer, Eddie is a master guitarist, Anthony is a great bassist, and lead vocals by DLR…come on now, it’s a loaded band…..this band is a once a lifetime type band….im just glad they were prevalent in my generation…..I saw VH, SRV, Mayer, Clapton, and Beck all live….i can now die in peace!..lol
This is so fantastic , these guys are better than ever , wow , so pro , Dave never sounded so good , Eddie is still the the champion and leader of the free world , Alex is sharp as a tack of course , true legends of rock , right from the start , so good to see them back together . Different Kind of Truth is the best album i've heard in over 10 years , all killer , no filler !!
We see smiles, looks like a great time, good friends and band mates.... some goofing off having fun while still holding down a solid performance. You wouldnt think this band had so much drama throughout their career. David Lee Roth front man and Eddie Van Halen guitar player were the best duo on those terms. Brother Alex and Mike on bass... easy going no drama Mike..... the band had it all. Mike never caused any bullshit, no drug or drink problems, no ego and yet he was shit on. Eddie, Alex, Dave and Mike were a great band.
A joy to watch for any true VH fan. BTW, Roth sounds pretty darn good here, try listening without watching the vid, Dave pretty much nails the blues tune. This is live folks, with almost no effects. Try it sometime. He's still a good entertainer, even sitting in a chair.... still acts like a tweaker sometimes though. They appear to be having a good time jamming, and if you're not a musician you can't really know the feeling. They have it.
All the people talking crap on Dave here. Listen, this is actually good. He sounds like the old days. But live in 2012 was horrible. He sounded so tired, and didn't have the heart for it. This is good and you know it.
TrevRockOne most of the new live album from tokyo is brilliant..they sound great...their are no overdubs...by the shows end dave was flagging and they gave a subpar panama rendition..bnut the majority of the live album is killer...the media grabs onto bullshit and runs with it
The only recent performance I've heard from them was when they played one of the late night talk shows a month ago or so. DLR sounded pretty shot, but I'll check out the Tokyo.
Ya I focused on that too; da do we da da dyeeodooo that middle filler he rolled right into it so perfectly and casually what a strange and simple dark deviation in that upbeat song
I'll give Dave a lot of credit, his voice has definitely taken a hit but he powers through this & actually sounds pretty good. This is super cool they did this!!!
I'm impressed! Dave's vocals are pretty good, of course the music is good and the background vocals are pretty good considering Michael Anthony is not in the group.
@@waynegilbert2468 Ed loved playing with Wolfgang more than anything. Even though it was certainly never planned, things worked out very well for Ed in that regard. It made him incredibly happy. And Wolf is "the real deal". Another incredible talent in the VH family.
I'm actually really surprised that Dave's voice is just as good as it was back in his stint with Van Halen. The whole band sounds great, I never thought I'd see a Van Halen album that I would be excited about in my lifetime.
Eddie’s smile while playing…. Just sheer bliss.
Always! Love it 🥰
He’s drunk off his ass all the time.

What DLR lacks in vocal quality, he more than makes up in spirit, attitude, and Charisma! I'm glad they're BACK!
Hmm Only a matter of taste... I love DLR's voice...!! 😊👍
Love the beautiful girls acoustic version......nice to see them all enjoying the session.
Acoustic VanHalen, with three VanHalens, amazing.
Dave sounds really good here. I really enjoy the acoustic playing here......well done!!!
Damn these renditions are so SO good.
Amazing to hear this acoustically! You really get a confirmation of just how great a player Ed was and the crazy chemistry of this band!
i watched this a few times.
so great!
Right 100%
For all of you Shit talkers these guys have more talent then you will ever have, that is why they are here in this video and you are there...
You guys sound great!!! Excellent unplugged sesh... Superb. Thank you!
It's raw, it's amazing, and good chemistry between them . That is not easy by any means what they are doing.
That was AWESOME!!
All the people talking crap on Dave here. Listen, this is actually good. He sounds like the old days. But live in 2012 was horrible. He sounded so tired, and didn't have the heart for it. This is good and you know it.
dave got hi,self into far better physical shape for the 2007 2008 tour...he will have to do that again if they tour again fingers crossed
stinkydo0d Yeah, he sounds great here compared to what I've heard from him lately.
TrevRockOne
They played Panama very recently on some awards show, and he sounded good. Maybe he's taking vocal lessons.
Love this. Playing unplugged like this really highlights how talented these guys really are / were. RIP Eddie.
What a great session. Thank you my brothers for entertaining us all these years. Much love and respect.
This was just absolutely fantastic!! VH FOREVER!!
I always wondered how Ed played that verse part. He's killing that middle part of Panama. Damn. And Dave did killer, esp Beautiful Girls.
I love this. Man, Eddie was a real musician. Killer!!
Damn fellas, that just made me cry...raw intimate Van Halen power, no crowds.
I'm impressed! Dave's vocals are pretty good, of course the music is good and the background vocals are pretty good considering Michael Anthony is not in the group.
That's too bad but I get it for Ed
@@waynegilbert2468 Ed loved playing with Wolfgang more than anything. Even though it was certainly never planned, things worked out very well for Ed in that regard. It made him incredibly happy. And Wolf is "the real deal". Another incredible talent in the VH family.
@@coldwinter5710 it's his son
This is incredible
Few can entertain in an unplugged session like DLR & VH
Second track is Amazing
Just a pleasure
This is soooo good!!!
This was Awesome !! I so miss Eddie and VanHalen .
I'm actually really surprised that Dave's voice is just as good as it was back in his stint with Van Halen. The whole band sounds great, I never thought I'd see a Van Halen album that I would be excited about in my lifetime.
Eddie at 3:40 is incredible. Glad to see these dudes having fun together!
Best unplugged session I've ever heard.
Nirvana, too.
This was great but I dont think any other acoustic/unplugged performance has ever been as good as Nirvana.
This is beyond awesome.
Wow that was great! VH unplugged!
Massive goosebumps...
