VH3 was produced by Ed with some help from Mike Post and it is sadly obvious that EVH was in no shape to self produce an album. If they had had an actual producer work that record it would not have sounded so discombobulated. Plus Gary wouldn't have been forced to sing in his highest register.
I've been listening to this on a loop, over and over. It's so amazing, so beautiful, the drums & guitar are incredible. Thankful that we have this. It's perfect as it is, without vocals.

That’s where the term “brown sound” originated. It wasn’t meant to describe Eddie’s guitar. It was Alex’s snare that Eddie coined the name for.

Thank you, Al!! I miss Ed very much. I have followed you guys from the beginning. Whenever I was down Your brothers playing always brought me back. I love this so much! It's beautiful.
I might’ve gotten a little emotional listening to this. Fantastic song and a perfect curtain call and final bow.
There's more, it's an ending to that period a quiet now. We must proceed with bravery, encourage. And everything we do
A requiem if you will
I love it, wish I could see them both together playing this beautiful song
streight from van halen III... love it, thank u alex, and hope more is to be uncovered

I hear hints of Baluchitherium.
Perhaps the most mature, sophisticated VH track I’ve EVER heard. Very bittersweet. I’d dearly love to have heard more of THIS. THANKS for this post!🎉
This wat Bruce Fairbairn tried to do with Balance . He told Eddie they all kno yiu can play fast let’s let them hear your sophisticated side. Eddie wasn’t pleased and fought with Bruce on that album. Hagar agreed with Bruce……..Hagar was ousted shortly thereafter
Unpopular opinion...but give VH3 a listen again. I thoroughly enjoyed that tour and felt Gary made the band into a group of musicians vs a party band
Halen 3 is a wonderful record, one of my brother and I's favorites too.

This is a beautiful piece. Edward and Alex made music that changed the world. I'm currently listening to Alex's reading of his book, and it exudes pure love for Edward and the music. What a blessing to hear new work, even though he's gone.

If this had been on an album just as it is, I wouldn't have been disappointed.
Seriously, I wish they'd done some instrumental albums of stuff like this. It would have been hugely successful.
This is such an amazing gift, there are tears streaming down my eyes. I love you two so much, millions just love you. Your music has been such a huge part of my life. I never thought I would hear you two play again. I close my eyes, and I can see it. This was the greatest gift Alex, thank you and God bless you.

2 brothers sitting around and jamming, what a sweet memory for Al and Ed. I hope there's more to come, but if not, this was awesome!
Just imagine tapes upon tapes of Ed and Al instrumentals! I'd definitely buy a full instrumental album (slams money on the table ~) take my money! Their talent needs to be heard again!
x2
There are boxes and boxes and boxes of tapes at 5150 Studio. That's a lot of work for Al, Wolf or someone.
You could buy some streams, doubt they'd make an album though.
I’m in!!!
So Great song..!!!💖🙏🎸🎸🎸 I love Eddie.!!! 🎉👍👍
I can feel Ed simply listening to this. Raised forearm looking at goosebumps stacked on top of each other.
Miss my best friend I never met, but his legacy will never die.
Thank you Alex, God Bless.

Omg, thanks so much, Alex, for sharing. What a Master piece. Talk about a tearjerker. The Last song Eddie and Alex did was so peaceful-sounding. I agree 100% with what Eddie always said. He couldn't play without Alex behind him on Drums. They were One Instrument. Oh my, now I'm going to go off and cry somewhere.
Ed was one of a kind. Thank you for the uplifting music. The world needs more music and peace.
Brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Alex for releasing this. What a masterpiece.
Love Alex's snare sound. Instantly recognizable.
🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🔊🔊👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Alex for releasing this gem!
Ive been a huge fan since day one. I was crushed when he passed. Like so many others, I never thought I would hear anything original. Very emotional instrumental. Thank you Alex for everything. I hope you find peace.

You both are so loved by so many people, I don’t know where I’d be without the Van Halen Brothers music, it has saved my life, changed my life! I am so glad your back Alex, it was rough without you!
Amazing! You want to listen to this brilliant music loud but yet again, listen to it.
This had me tear up. Can’t lie. To hear something new from Eddie and Alex was just perfect.
What a generous gift to the world, 'Unfinished' is unexpectedly gratifying to hear. So happy right now.

Gorgeous sounding piece of music. Thank you Alex and Edward Van Halen... Cheers!
Amazing, haven’t been this happy since “Respect the Wind”, another VH instrumental that is both beautiful and haunting. What a treat to hear new music from Ed and Alex, with all the focus and talk about Dave, Sammy, the tribute tour, it was great to have a singular focus on the VH brothers. Having 3 brothers myself, I can relate to their bond. Thank you Alex 🙏

What a beautiful song
Man the hair stood up on my neck when I heard this!
wow Incredible, the tone, the phrasing, the chord sequences, the melodies and moods, unbelievable, what a beautiful piece of music
Josephina tone time period .
Gotta love Al’s drum, sounds like a hammer hitting a piece of plywood tone on the snare .
Great stuff
Man I wish they’d do a full remix and rerelease of VHIII like Gary suggested. It could sound so much better!
What happened and why is the mix so bad
VH3 was produced by Ed with some help from Mike Post and it is sadly obvious that EVH was in no shape to self produce an album. If they had had an actual producer work that record it would not have sounded so discombobulated. Plus Gary wouldn't have been forced to sing in his highest register.
Thanks AL! You wouldn't believe how many times I've stood "out there" and reveled in you and Ed's magic. This is wonderful.
I've been listening to this on a loop, over and over. It's so amazing, so beautiful, the drums & guitar are incredible. Thankful that we have this. It's perfect as it is, without vocals.

エディの優しい部分、力強さ、オリジナルが入り混じった素晴らしい曲だね❤RIP & thx
🇵🇷Sounds familiar to the Baluchitherium in certain moments .. is a masterpiece.. for me one of the best guitars of the rock industry.. he has his own style ... 😎 Not from my era but my uncle bought those cassettes back in the day when I was 6 years old .. 1984 and 5150.. it was a great band .. inconfundible guitar 🎸
Thank you ALEX this is a real gift to me an millions of other fans god bless ed an you al an wolf an val

Elegant Rock music as only the Van Halen brothers could give us..The Van Halen talents will always be there to recall, where we were when we first heard this song or that song that became a forever memorable moment in our life.. some just discovering the music..once again puts a big smile on my face to know such great contributions where brought to the world of music from 2 very ambitious hard working brothers..The Van Halen's .

This is even better than Respect the Wind. Never thought, I'd encounter it.
A killer piece of music. Fabulous work by all. Ed seemed to give the song just what was needed. No hundred notes in 2 measures of music. Just notes that the song requires.

@IcarAlejandroGuitar yes, definitely want to hear everything I can. Thank you
It sounds like a sequel to Baluchitherium from the Balance album, my favorite VH instrumental ever.
This was very Prog Rock sounding, very organic and magical. I loved it. Every phase of VanHalen was great because it showed a different level of expertise. Roth, Hagar and Cherone all made a statement.
Edward was a genius! RIP Edward
What a blessing it is to have experienced Ed’s genius and the undeniable eternal bond between Ed and Al first hand. They’ll be revered as long as humans walk the planet. ❤
