I suspect Eddie did all the instruments on this song. Just like he did everything on VHIII. It's a hit fo sho.
i think mitch was in his own Groove ... most vocals had that thing ... he should have worked with great musicians around him ... he is a quality vocalist
Mitch left because of the DLR “reunion”. Eddie didn’t discuss that with Mitch and he essentially learned about it from tv. All Mitch saw was that they were going to get back together with Dave so he decided to leave them to it. Plus I’m sure he didn’t want to be a part of any drama.

Sammy and Gary they are versatile Vocalists , that's why Eddie wanted to experiment with new sound with new vocalists ... i am giving you example of two songs from VH3 , once & From A far ... david dont have skills to provide quality vocals for songs like these .... i am not against him , i like his vocals but he is not a complete singer and its a fact.
@@80sRockheavymetal2 VH never did any ballads w DLR but it wasn't bcz of his voice
It was bcz DLR didn't like being all lovey dovey
He knew the band was about partying and having fun so that's why he wrote all those classics
Ain't talking about love - Jamie's crying - on fire - atomic punk - mean streets - hear about it later - hang em high - the cradle will rock - running w the devil - girl gone bad - jump - panama - drop dead legs - so this is love
He didn't give a flying F about romance bcz none of them did while they were together
Had they never broke up we would have had & loved another five albums and never missed a ballad
The closest VH came to anything resembling a relationship was Everybody Wants Some 😉
I call the Hagar era the gay era going ultra soft
@@tobiasfunke9473 Everybody got own likes and dislikes ... if you heard the interview of Eddie he said Gary is a flexible person who understands quickly that what i wanted to make , he said VH3 is a perfect album but critics and wanna be fans of David doesn't like that album ... for your information last album of Van halen with David .... he called gary to make one more album with him ... they recorded some demos and in future they will be out .... Eddie was a Van halen , david was just a singer , and Eddie knew what kind of vocalist he needs for specific songs ... thats why he wanted to record the album with gary in 2014-2015 ... he wanted to shape the different sound of Van halen with a flexibility in vocals .... but you are a fan of David it will be hard for you ... for me whatever Eddie played with his vocalists , i love his Each an single song or demo. for me they are gems in these days.
@@80sRockheavymetal2 I totally get it
The only thing I questioned about VH III was that many songs has the old DLR era sound and it didn't work w cherone very well
From Afar was their best song
Plus by that time, Eddie's mind was so fkd up w drugs
He got so bad that Sammy found him one time so gone out of his mind that he looked like he'd been living on the streets he didn't shower and lost many teeth
U can tell when he would pull himself together he could produce some good music but when his mind was replaced by drugs again all his stuff was gibberish
No melody no harmony just trying to put together a blanket from different materials that didn't go together
So when Eddie got together w Sammy at first Sammy was the best he could write w and create music w - the best fit ever
Then w cherone he said the exact same thing
Had he gotten Patty Smythe to record w them he would have said the exact same thing
Bcz his brain was fried by then
I think Eddie knew how much people hated VH III and was probably trying to redeem himself by trying to create something that would prove him right
It's common and normal for people to want to rectify their mistakes
@@tobiasfunke9473 For me David Era got one pattern songs party and fun stuff no melody in it .... in VHIII you will find all kind of songs thats why for me that CD is special , personally i dont care for critics and those wannabe review makers ... if you are listener if a tone catches your attetion that all matters ... everybody got own likes and dislikes and we can't force people to follow your likes ... everybody got own fun for listening and seeing things . we have to respect each other choice ... you have your listening criteria and i have my own ... good thing is that we should enjoy listening if tone is good bringing you the vibe what you are looking for that all matter for me.
Hell no, it sounds to hair metal........
First time I ever heard this sorry this guy cannot touch David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar he is better than Gary Cherone
but Mitch never wanted to be in a Band , he always had LSD issue
This is the most generic Van Halen ever sounded. I'm glad this guy didn't get the job.
lyrics are terrible
Absolutely awful…This is not the Mighty Van Halen.
Great decision not to use him
Thanks my friend
This is better than anything on the Cherone album
@@philipkarovski281 choice does matter , gary was good in VHIII but it came in wrong Era when grunge and Alternative rock was all over the scene.
I personally dont like it.
Awful
Never heard of Mitch Malloy who was and is he ?? What other bands was he with ??
