I wouldn't be surprised if Dreamworks did make the mermaid design the way they did as a hit against Disney, considering they've been petty against the mouse right from the very beginning (Shrek being a prime example). It would be completely in-character for them, especially with the live-action Little Mermaid right around the corner.

Teenage Kraken looks really wholesome and cute. I love Ruby a ton and the world seems great too. I can’t wait. And of course, we can’t forget about the Mario Movie. It was so incredible I don’t know what words to describe it all. I was so invested and it made me very happy. Mario is my favourite thing ever and I gotta say it is one of the best movie I have seen in a long time. It felt like it was made for me and I bet you feel the same way May

i'm actually excited for the new ninja turtles movie, they actually look and act like teenagers from what i've seen so far, literally every other version has them acting and talking like adults when they were never supposed to be. plus the art style looks really nice so i bet it'll be a great movie

God I really hope your Barbie theory comes to life. It would make the perfect movie. Her figuring out that her entire world is fake would be such a crazy plot point and could flip the entire movie upside down. Also Ryan Gosling hype!!!
Elemental isn't a sing situation. The problem people had with Sing was that the animals contribute nothing to the story. They don't influence the environment around them, and nothing that an animal actually does is really included. Elemental has two characters, one made from fire, one from water. I see it more as a Finn and Fire Princess situation from Adventure Time more than Sing. Plus, in the teaser trailer you can see the characters interact with one another in the same way that their materials would IRL. The air/cloud people can float on ceilings, the water people can get objects easily trapped in their bodies, and they can help fertilize the earth people's crops/hair. None of those things can be replaced with any normal human.

I think your take that Spider verse isn't stylistically different enough from other animated movies is insane. It popularized this boom! Stylistic 3d animation with 2d effects and techniques to enhance the flow. It's the start of the new generation of 3d movies, not the end of one.
true maybe i was getting a little too confident with that take! my thinking was that the movie did impact and change animation quite a bit but as for the animation style it still felt in the comfort zone of the general public. but maybe i was wrong!
Which is bad, because every animated movie feels the need to slow down the frame rate for no reason, especially during action scenes which makes no sense.

Unfortunately, the movie underperformed at the box office. So Warner Bros. hired James Gunn as president of DC Studios and made *him* be the one to change DC. Desperate, the Rock turned to Disney by wanting Moana remade in order to gain relevancy. This makes all sense. The Rock loves fame, Disney loves money, it all adds up!
While I do not mind if like movies don't show connections to other movies of the same universe, it does kinda explain why Black Adam feels very disconnected. Not just from Shazam (heck, they haven't met yet and for some reason, The Rock is hesitant to have Zachary Levi's Shazam meet his Black Adam even if it made perfect sense), but the DCEU as a whole. And with Fury of the Gods not doing well, I just fear that the Shazam IP would not live on in James Gunn's soft reboot timeline and it might be the last time we see of Shazam (and to an extent, Black Adam).

Teenage Kraken looks FRESH! I absolutely LOVE animated fur and water for some reason its just so euphoric to me, so I hope it is going to be good even if the trailer seemed to literally give everything away rather than just tease what happens.

I love animated movies because there is just so much more to do because it can have so much more action. With real people there is only so much you can do with live action movies but with animated films you can take 10x more action (NOT in all cases)
Something that always bugs me is the fact that at the end of the first Trolls movie, Branch got his color back from the black & grey we saw most of the movie. But in the sequels they just threw that out the window and he's still emo. ;-;

Migration looks like another movie. A fever dream movie for me. It's about a tiny little baby bird who is well, abandoned by his colony. And then met a girl, fell in love and i just forgot the next 30 minutes of the movie. But there is gravestones and the movies name is probably named after tha main character i guess? Let me say: I am such a big sucker for TMNT. I looove tmnt so much. And I very excited for Mutant Mayhem! In like, the first time, the turtles look, sound, and act just like teenagers. In other iterations they seemed older than teens. Even in the 1987 show and Rise of the TMNT, they struck me more as young adults than teenagers. So I am very excited to see the turtles actually BE teenagers, instead of just being called teenagers in their title lol. The animatic makes me want to cry oh my god it's so good. And the humor looks like it's going to be good as well! The only thing I'm worried about is Seth Rogan directing it. I'm not familiar with him, but people say that the movies he directed in the past were very bad. I'm very worried that this movie won't be good if that's true, but the sneak peak looked great, so maybe it'll be fine? And I agree with you on the point that not every movie has to have an animation style that's very different. For instance, Rise of the TMNT: The Movie really impressed me and had great animation despite not looking different exactly. Everyone seemed to genuinely love that film, and I think this movie only really needs good characters and a good plot in order to be loved
If you love it because it captures what you love about Mario, that’s so cool of you. But due to it’s thin plot it is not amazing or even better than Despicable Me 1 (a movie with a better plot).

Elemental looks pretty good. The whole “my father wants me to go into the family business” plot is a bit cliche, but I like the world and character designs. Of course Spider-verse will be great. Miles and Gwen were my favorites in the first one, so I agree that it’s great to have the focus on them.
My opinions to each movie real quickly too. Elemental: Looks like a nice yet generic movie. Nothing groundbreaking but just overall alright Spiderverse 2: I need this movie now oh my god I need this so much! TMNT: Really looking forward to that movie, seen as it is really fitting looking to the Turtle's in style! Teenage Kraken: I just wanna watch that movie out of the fact it mocks Ariel alone already, tho not fully sure about most else yet Trolls 3: Migration: Not that hooked to it as of now, might change in the future Moana: OUT Barbie: Unironically looking forward to that movie. It looks like a very fun movie and the jokes shown in the trailer did manage to make me laugh more than all of Phase 4 Marvel did already. So pretty promising

Unpopular opinion, but the Spider-Verse style of animation with the choppy frames and blend of 3d and 2d styling is great and all, however the way it’s being used so much now, it could start to become a fad and get old. It feels like studios are jumping on a bandwagon. There’s such a thing as too much of a good thing, and it could start to become over saturated.
I agree. I love the artstyle, but I fear that it’s going to be used way too much. That’s the reason why 2D animation died and why realistic 3D is dying. The companies stick to one style, the people want something new, another style comes in, repeat. I just want 2D animation to come back so we can have all different types of animated movies instead of having the same style for the next two decades.
@@huntsman9316 I love the style and I would like to see it used in a lot of movies, but I feel like if they use it in every single future movie, it would get old kinda fast. I want some movies to have that style, some to be in realistic 3D, and I also want 2D to make a comeback so all the art styles balance each other out. I don't care what animation studio makes the movies, whether it's that whole dumb "Disney vs Dreamworks" goofy ahh people stuff, I really don't care. The part of the movie that makes it good is the movie itself, not the animation studio- so stop saying they are gonna be great or not just by knowing who it's made by :/
Anyways I got that off my chest (saying that to all the people who believe studios are better than each other), I'm very excited for all of these!

The Rock previously wanted to take over the DC Extended Universe as Black Adam saying "The hierarchy of the DC Universe is about to change."
Unfortunately, the movie underperformed at the box office. So Warner Bros. hired James Gunn as president of DC Studios and made *him* be the one to change DC.
Desperate, the Rock turned to Disney by wanting Moana remade in order to gain relevancy. This makes all sense.

While I do not mind if like movies don't show connections to other movies of the same universe, it does kinda explain why Black Adam feels very disconnected. Not just from Shazam (heck, they haven't met yet and for some reason, The Rock is hesitant to have Zachary Levi's Shazam meet his Black Adam even if it made perfect sense), but the DCEU as a whole.
And with Fury of the Gods not doing well, I just fear that the Shazam IP would not live on in James Gunn's soft reboot timeline and it might be the last time we see of Shazam (and to an extent, Black Adam).

Teenage Kraken looks FRESH! I absolutely LOVE animated fur and water for some reason its just so euphoric to me, so I hope it is going to be good even if the trailer seemed to literally give everything away rather than just tease what happens.

As a fan of the original 2011/2012 Tmnt, I’m hyped for the TMNT Moive!

I love animated movies because there is just so much more to do because it can have so much more action. With real people there is only so much you can do with live action movies but with animated films you can take 10x more action (NOT in all cases)

Migration looks like another movie. A fever dream movie for me. It's about a tiny little baby bird who is well, abandoned by his colony. And then met a girl, fell in love and i just forgot the next 30 minutes of the movie. But there is gravestones and the movies name is probably named after tha main character i guess? Ok love you may, keep up the great work ❤.

Let me say: I am such a big sucker for TMNT. I looove tmnt so much. And I very excited for Mutant Mayhem! In like, the first time, the turtles look, sound, and act just like teenagers. In other iterations they seemed older than teens. Even in the 1987 show and Rise of the TMNT, they struck me more as young adults than teenagers. So I am very excited to see the turtles actually BE teenagers, instead of just being called teenagers in their title lol. The animatic makes me want to cry oh my god it's so good. And the humor looks like it's going to be good as well!
The only thing I'm worried about is Seth Rogan directing it. I'm not familiar with him, but people say that the movies he directed in the past were very bad. I'm very worried that this movie won't be good if that's true, but the sneak peak looked great, so maybe it'll be fine?
And I agree with you on the point that not every movie has to have an animation style that's very different. For instance, Rise of the TMNT: The Movie really impressed me and had great animation despite not looking different exactly. Everyone seemed to genuinely love that film, and I think this movie only really needs good characters and a good plot in order to be loved

I watched the Mario movie 2 days ago, and it was amazing! Illumination’s best movie for sure!
If you love it because it captures what you love about Mario, that’s so cool of you.
But due to it’s thin plot it is not amazing or even better than Despicable Me 1 (a movie with a better plot).
@@finalmountain The thing about the mario movie is that it is based off a video game so it's pretty hard to make a good story out of it and besides it is mostly A fun movie, without a really good plot. I forgot the last time we had a fun movie.

Elemental looks pretty good. The whole “my father wants me to go into the family business” plot is a bit cliche, but I like the world and character designs. Of course Spider-verse will be great. Miles and Gwen were my favorites in the first one, so I agree that it’s great to have the focus on them.

Elemental: Looks like a nice yet generic movie. Nothing groundbreaking but just overall alright
Spiderverse 2: I need this movie now oh my god I need this so much!

Unpopular opinion, but the Spider-Verse style of animation with the choppy frames and blend of 3d and 2d styling is great and all, however the way it’s being used so much now, it could start to become a fad and get old. It feels like studios are jumping on a bandwagon. There’s such a thing as too much of a good thing, and it could start to become over saturated.
I agree. I love the artstyle, but I fear that it’s going to be used way too much. That’s the reason why 2D animation died and why realistic 3D is dying. The companies stick to one style, the people want something new, another style comes in, repeat. I just want 2D animation to come back so we can have all different types of animated movies instead of having the same style for the next two decades.
