@@scientic In Japan you are not allowed to have a car unless you can prove you have a place to store it. Pavement parking really annoys me, had to walk around a van the other day because he obstructed the whole pavement, thankfully I can walk and didn't have to find a cuttaway for a wheelchair, it is selfish, park on the road or if it would block both lanes, find somewhere else to park, even if it means that you have to *gasp* walk a bit. I'd just park as close to the kerb as possible, even if it creates a bottleneck where you have to use the oncoming lane- rather make things a little less convenient for drivers than force prams and wheelchairs onto the road! Frankly if you have nowhere to store a car, you should not have one, end of story, park away from your house or get a bus! Drivers are so entitled, as if getting most of the spaceon the street isn't enough, you also think you have the right to use the little strip of land designated for me to walk on! Another incident was when a driver drove up onto the pavement to park within 2 feet of me and my 3 year old son, she was very close to my son, totally ignorant and elfish!

The fun fact is drivers can indeed travel and their cars can go anywhere other than their place of residence. I don't see how you expect drivers to have a designated parking spot for themselves at their local doctors etc.
This entire post sums up as "tell me you can't drive without telling me you can't drive".... which is fine but don't think that makes you an expert on it. In some cases (mainly rural areas) parking on the pavement is absolutely necessary.

I feel for learner drivers as it is very daunting learning to drive in the UK as it is very regulated and there’s lots to consider whilst driving. That being said, it is the best place to learn.
Best advice I could give is to study the Highway Code, and while driving, just take your time, do not rush, remain calm and focus on the road conditions. Speed limits are not a target, so don’t feel pressured into going as fast as you can. By taking your time you allow yourself more time observe everything around you and respond accordingly. When out with instructors, don’t pretend that you already know everything as the instructor can see right through you depending on your answers. Be open to learn as much as you can from them and still expect to learn more each day as there is always something new to learn, that being new environments, traffic conditions, weather conditions, new road layouts, signage, updates in the Highway Code and more. I’ve been driving 18 years and driving HGV’s professionally for 12, but still I remain open minded and focussed whilst driving. Anything can happen unexpectedly and as long as you stay calm and react safely, you will pass your test.
Best of luck to everyone who is ready for the test🤞
    Remember: Safety First.
as long as the assessor feels safe whilst you’re driving you will pass. 👍

No need to feel for them. Costs for a UK learner are a fraction of what it cost us (other EU country). I passed my test about 5 months ago with 4 minor faults. Today, I was driving behind a learner and I was trying not to be judgy because ive been in their position but I could tell they were new to driving. They were driving pretty much in between 2 lanes rather than in the middle and when a traffic light went orange, myself and everyone around slowed down, they were right in front of me and they didnt look like they were slowing down, i was just thinking ‘damn, they’re gonna run the red?’, they did, but the parent in the vehicle must have told them too late that they had to stop because they screeched to a halt in the middle of the intersection. I left room so they could back up. They did back up, but not to be fully behind the line. All i could think was DAMN my mum would have been screaming at me “THIS IS HOW I DIE”
My mum always said “STOP” right as it turned orange, even if I saw it, or she’d say “GO” if it was kind of close

A couple of things that really annoy me as a driver of many years about other drivers are:
People who just dump their car kerbside when they have a big driveway. It is bad enough when so many houses in the UK do not have drives or garages so the owner has no choice but to park their car either kerbside or half on the road/half on the path. I, like my neighbour are fortunate and have both a drive and garage, I have one car and park it in my garage whilst my neighbour has a van and a BMW but will often park both on the front and leave thier drive and garage totally empty. Then when they have visitors they park on my front spoiling the view of the small park opposite my house. What is worse is we live on a bend in the road. All for the sake of a few extra seconds of turning into their own driveway.
The next thing is the mass idiocy of none indication. What wrong? Is everyone fearful the government will send you a bill at the end of the month for how many times you indicated whilst driving? If I had a penny for every time I see someone not indicate to either turn at a junction or to switch lanes or to use a roundabout then I wouldn't need to work. I see this dozens of times, every time I go out somewhere. You was required to do it on your test so do it once you've passed please.

I can relate to that situation when I was learning at a similar age and I always took these things personally and to heart, as if to suggest I was a failure of some sort. But looking back, I was wrong in my thought process. Try not to do that and instead, DO take and welcome ALL constructive criticism you receive. Trust me, you will be all the better for it. I'm not sure why drivers today are even bothering to learn in a manual. UK car market is moving to automatic and it'll reach a stage where a manual is harder to come by and will cost more.

Driving today is more like ‘Wacky Races’, and other vehicles act in so many haphazard and crazy ways, that just ‘surviving’ is the order of the day. Tailgating is one of the most dangerous things I see these days, many drivers haven’t got a clue about about the ability of stopping in case the car in front has to brake suddenly. I feel that in so many cases it is the car that is controlling the driver and not the other way round! Another major error I see these days is drivers signalling turning far too late, almost just as they are turning! What point is that?

He made a lot of serious faults, but I feel that he is not a bad driver, as he often has fairly good awareness, even if he is hesitant to move off, but after 10-15 hours with a competent instructor, like the one I had, and 20-30 hours on the road with a family member, I think he could be ready to pass. Doing those big roundabouts and lane changes can be tough at the start. Still not sure why he parks on the pavement though, maybe it’s because everyone else does it!

This is the first DGN mock test video I am watching since passing my driving test on Friday on my second attempt. These videos really did help to identify the kind of mistakes that can occur and how the test would be marked. Also since I was doing my test in Wolverhampton these videos helped me remember the routes/roads which I feel made a difference as I knew what type of situations I was coming up to (e.g a steep hill at the end of the road) so I could mentally prepare.
