Oh I verbalized everything. However, I told the examiner beforehand I talk out loud a lot and that I wasn't actually asking him in case I did 😂I tried not to though. I still do to myself when I am driving and I passed in September lol. Best of luck! Practice is key.
The clearance faults just kept coming.. a lot of this is common sense and even in the most high pressure situations she should be aware of what she’s doing, especially when that black car was merging
the roadworks sign was really badly placed though tbh, was basically adjacent rather than being ahead of the bus shelter which sort of blocked the sign until you were right at it
I was surprised she kept going so fast with the black car. I was just waiting for the brake slam. :D But other than that, the clearence stuff mainly goes to experience - she doesn't know yet the dimensions of the car she is sitting in, and how far away are things. This will come.
I failed my test on Friday unfortunately, for one serious fault. It was my first attempt and I had very few minors too. The serious fault was for road position on a country lane around a bend. I was really sad, I've rebooked the test though and somehow got another one before Christmas.
Hi Josh, I wish you well in your coming test. How did you manage to quickly book for another test? Can you link me up or connect me to book my test early as well please. I had my test on Wednesday and I failed because of one serous fault at the roundabout for not steering well to the left while a van was on my right.
@@feyist3274 Hi i know you didn’t ask me but there’s an app you can pay for called driving test now which lets you see any cancellations and auto book them as soon as they’re available :)
I's interesting how they teach differently in each country, because if you told your instructor you can check whether the indicator works when you put the hazards on then you would not pass that question as the systems are completely different. You can definitely check whether the bulbs are working, but not if the indication system will turn the indicator lights on
12:23 The delay in choosing a bay causes them to continue to a busy more congested part of the car park. Turning right is the easier option with a wider swing in and the early bays are void of other parked vehicles to make parking simpler.
That's a bad habit to get into . Not merging in turn and speeding up when he was indicating an infront of her, he indicated in good ime for her to see and reduced speed accordingly ... but she will learn I'm sure she will be great driver
After 30 years of driving in the UK, roundabouts are the biggest cause of errors from drivers. I’m guilty of it too, Sat Navs don;t help, be in the left lane then you realise the left lane is left turn only. Or roundabouts with 4/5 lanes which is always fun
Oh Violet! A few scary moments there, but it's your first mock test, and is this your first time on camera? That can make people nervous too. Good Luck for your next one, you'll get there.
to be honest, right at the start, the examiner wouldn't have told her about the upcoming turn. They'd have let the satnav re-route. Telling her about the turn was the cause for approaching the corner too fast and caused her to panic.
In Aman's voice: on this junction, Violet got a minor fault for not stopping to resurface the road ahead. It would have been a serious fault but the car was too cold and tarmac in her purse turned solid.
Violets needs more practice to avoid serious faults as she seems like having lack of experience on various road conditions...😅 Sufficient practice makes her to handle difficult situations better.
I’m Dutch and I’ve been in London for almost a week now and I can not understand how you guys drive here without crashing all the time 😂 it seems so hard 😂 and also people just walking through the red light, what’s up with that? We seem to be almost the only ones who just wait for the light to turn green 🙃
You’ll see that all over the UK. No one really waits for the green man. People just cross when theres space less inconvenient for the drivers and usually gets you across the road quicker
Okay, I will say with the roadworks and that car merging in, I do think the other driver was at fault. The obstruction is in their path so it would have been their responsibility to find a clearing to move over. They should've either sped up a bit more for an easier move or they should've merged in behind you guys as they did not have the right of way moving into your lane and they did not appear to have had the clearance to do so in the first place and so they did force their way into the gap. But this is just my humble opinion as a Dutch driver. 🤣
A moch test was the worst thing I could’ve done if you e done lessons your fine, it made me so anxious that I messed up so much, when I did my test I passed but was stressing so bad
16:23 oh boy! these kinds of scenarios makes lane changing so stressful to newbie drivers, especially when you signal early already -- when drivers behind the opposite lane doze off or simply being a prick and speed up instead of slowing down
I think she almost hit that black car (and got her first serious) because she was too focused on looking at the black car. Ironically, by trying to avoid it by looking at it, she unconsciously drifted toward it. It's almost like a metaphor.
i never did a marked driving test really where it was structured like the actual test, what we did was set up the sat nav, drove about 30 minutes away, parked in a bay at the asda there and then he gave me directions for the way back and we spoke about it after about what was done well and what wasnt.
She has a pretty poor attitude for a leaner imo, the at 16:20 she tries too hard to cut down the space, real poor mentality. Why not help him? You see his indication for a fair amount of time before the move.
Violet says "He just cut in front of me". I think this would reveal she had no idea that because lane 2 was closing cars from that lane would be needing to change into the lane she was in. This would be "Awareness and planning" as the fault is not attitude more a competence issue due to inexperience particularly in observing and realising what is likely to happen next. It was a barn door situation to 99% of drivers who would not try and force up the inside.. At 16:40 we see a sign, four lanes with lanes 3 & 4 closing. Her decision was to move out right to where the closed lanes were.
Hope after she pass I will never meet her in the traffic, is your fault but you still being silly and telling that he cut in front of you.By the way Aman is a great instructor, after so many scary moments she is still calm
@@rjj00 Yeah, this I dont know of the driving culture in the UK but if you drive premium brand vehicle, there is a bizarre sense of entitlement and overconfident that can blind your driving senses and can make you more of an offensive driver instead of a defensive one; "hah! move away make space for me, dont you cut in front of me! I drive a Ferrari and Lamborghini, you are just a Toyota and Nissan!"

Sounds a bit but it's not dangerous and isn't linked to any accident increase. Now some numpties want to introduce being able to turn while the light is red if there's no-one coming, that manoeuvre is linked to accidents, can't believe people want that.
hmm sort of, but should have been done as a moving off routine anyway, not for the turn section so much. the bigger thing was the observations to the right behind sort of lacking when reversing back out. focused on the left / front of the car some reason
From what I can gather the vast majority of driving instructors in the UK use such cars (though it is not mandatory). At least in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, the use of dual-control cars is mandatory but in Denmark it is not. These are the countries I’ve looked up, I expect a similar pattern in most of Europe, ie, often mandatory but if not mandatory still very common in practice.
Driving so different since I took my test I did it just before theory on the hazard perception came out. I managed to pass theory 2nd tine and driving odd now days
As you travel further towards buildings in car parks the more cars are going to packed together. So an earlier space choice will have less dangers about it. Because we drive on the left in the UK swinging forwards into spaces on the right is a wider and therefore easier turn. You need to turn about ninety degrees into a space if you are not straight enough, have a good look around and when safe back up a little and move forwards to get straightened and within the original bay. You are not allowed to drive through a bay into the one beyond. You choose a bay and the examiner does not need to be told which one you are aiming for.
@@BulelwakokoYou of course have to watch that nothing else (car, opening door, or pedestrian) could move into that space, but that is a rule I happily ignore. It allows you to move out the parking spot without having to reverse.
You don't get marked down for the control of the steering wheel anymore, you can hold the steering wheel however you like as long as you have control, that's what my driving instructor told me and that I passed my test with x
In the parking lot, are you allowed to ‘pull through’ to the parking spot in front of the one you initially drove into, such that you can leave the (second) parking spot at the end without having to reverse?
I failed my first test for going over a kerb like that (4:39) on the right turn into a small narrow road for the test centre right at the end, so not sure how I feel about that only being a minor fault. In the end it's trivial though for this test. Right at the start she seems to not really slow down for the speed bumps and approaches the t junction with quite a bit of speed, braking quite late, and then focuses more observations on the left than the right, which is the direction of traffic that could hit her first
Sometimes it depends on the tester as to what causes a fail and not. A lot pick up on tons of minors which become a major fault and some don't worry as much about the minor's. Its sadly not as standardised as it should be from my experience.
What car do you use for your lesson I know it’s a merc but don’t know which class and variation it is ; looking to get my second car by January, is it reliable and fuel friendly? thank you for videos.
@@tzuyuwu786 The point is I don’t. Learners learn and then end up clogging up the road in their shitty little Toyota Aygos and Fiat 500s and idiots like that Juvenal or whatever his name is then get a license and start causing chaos. Some people shouldn’t be on the road. You should have to half bankrupt yourself on a car before you’re allowed to drive… maybe then people would be better and more careful
There could a number of different reasons for that: Difficulty in spacial awareness (judging distances, size of car), not looking frequently enough to your sides, a sort of tunnel vision (focussing on where you want to go, instead of what is right in front of you). Nervousness and not enough experience obviously affects these aspects.
Never had a mock test. Given I passed 10 years ago so I guess it wasn't much of a thing back then. I would say these days... is it really a wise choice having sat navs on tests/ training? Doesn't this teach people to not use road signs and blindly follow the sat nav?
It's bizarre how you only need 23 hours of driving experience with an instructor to be almost ready to do your test. In Australia, you need 120 hours of driving, which can be with anyone with a full licence. If you do driving lessons, each hour counts towards 3 hours of the 120 you need to do to be able to attempt to get your Provisional 1 licence

Definitely viewing it as an imporant learning experience though to get used to driving with no one to support your decision making (I have a habit of verbalising my decisions so that my instructor can confirm if its the right one or not mostly at roundabouts lol), thank you both for this video!!
Oh I verbalized everything. However, I told the examiner beforehand I talk out loud a lot and that I wasn't actually asking him in case I did 😂I tried not to though. I still do to myself when I am driving and I passed in September lol. Best of luck! Practice is key.
The clearance faults just kept coming.. a lot of this is common sense and even in the most high pressure situations she should be aware of what she’s doing, especially when that black car was merging
the roadworks sign was really badly placed though tbh, was basically adjacent rather than being ahead of the bus shelter which sort of blocked the sign until you were right at it
@Stallzyx tbh it's really easy to notice these things once you have experience, new drivers are too focused on other things at times
I was surprised she kept going so fast with the black car. I was just waiting for the brake slam. :D
But other than that, the clearence stuff mainly goes to experience - she doesn't know yet the dimensions of the car she is sitting in, and how far away are things. This will come.

I wish these kind of videos were about in 2014 when I passed, good job on them. Very clear and informative. :)

Good for you 👍 👏
I's interesting how they teach differently in each country, because if you told your instructor you can check whether the indicator works when you put the hazards on then you would not pass that question as the systems are completely different. You can definitely check whether the bulbs are working, but not if the indication system will turn the indicator lights on
You’re overthinking it way too much
12:23 The delay in choosing a bay causes them to continue to a busy more congested part of the car park.
The black vehicle signaled early, decent drivers should yield, slow down and make space
@@rdu239 that's my point exactly...
that roadworks sign was really badly placed behind the bus shelter, not sure why the sign wasn't placed further forward
Booked my driving test on 05/06/2023 passed on 06/06/2023. Examiner in DVSA that was super .All goals met
How did you get a test booked the best day ? Everyone else has to book it months away …
After 30 years of driving in the UK, roundabouts are the biggest cause of errors from drivers. I’m guilty of it too, Sat Navs don;t help, be in the left lane then you realise the left lane is left turn only. Or roundabouts with 4/5 lanes which is always fun
Omg you are great ❤
I’m learning so much from your videos
I agree! Mock tests are important!
My sensory issues would be going through it hearing her say one things and sat nav saying something else she’s doing really well 19:05
although she made mistakes, yet she was quite calm. i love these people.
My instructor is kicking me in my ass if I do anything wrong.but u are so kind and sweet
That's how Londoners drive. Busy city, busy people
You’ll see that all over the UK. No one really waits for the green man. People just cross when theres space less inconvenient for the drivers and usually gets you across the road quicker
Have you ever driven within or around Amsterdam? It is VERY similar! Trust this fellow Dutchie 😜
Red light means people can cross.
@@Sam-oo1uored light on the crossing sign means people can’t cross
Anybody else notice the silver Peugot jumping a red light at 17:48? He/she was driving really aggresively aswell
A moch test was the worst thing I could’ve done if you e done lessons your fine, it made me so anxious that I messed up so much, when I did my test I passed but was stressing so bad
i didn’t get the chance to do any mock tests before mine and i passed first time! i didn’t even know the show me tell me questions😭😭
Aww bless her she was shaking at one point
16:23 oh boy! these kinds of scenarios makes lane changing so stressful to newbie drivers, especially when you signal early already -- when drivers behind the opposite lane doze off or simply being a prick and speed up instead of slowing down
I actually never done a mock test and luckily passed first time still! Xx
congratulations!
You see his indication for a fair amount of time before the move.
agreed, and 16:55 she should have held back. She will be a typical BMW driver when she passes and gains confidence
@@rjj00 Yea that was interesting...
I love your expression at 12:53!! You're like 'Errmmm......she's coming in a bit hot here! Interesting choice!!'' lol
I never had an official mock test as such but my instructor does say that he’s going to try and keep his mouth shut😂 had my test on Friday 2 December.. I failed because I hit the kerb on the way out of the test centre😅 but other than that I would have passed😤😅
Bit annoying I bet I had 1 serous on my test back in October. Just annoying could of been on the road now. :(
what! so you failed from the jump 😭😭 hope you passed on your second go!
It’s your facial expressions for me 😂😂 love it !!
The first dangerous didn't seem too bad, maybe her rate of speed was a contributing factor that made it dangerous as opposed to just a minor.
i understand some of the viewers are too invested in the tiktok incident
Violet did well in junctions and stayed patient
A bit more practice and she will hopefully pass her real test
I wouldn't call this silly mistakes! A few really scary moments.I would recommend , more practice or postpone your test.
I think she calls them silly because she would normally not make these mistakes but did them due to internal pressure
The lane changing part is so scary, those kind of "silliness" she is taking about is asking for a road accident
I have my test now, wish me luck! I’m super nervous though 🤗
good luck :)
OMG the parking rules in the UK are insane!
My instructor did mock tests with out telling me they were mock tests at one point every lesson was a mock test n I didn’t know 😂😂😂 I think it’s best for everyone to think of all their lessons as a mock test though if you can critic urself for without letting it get you down
This could be really helpful! I got major anxiety issues which led to me making mistakes during my exam that I honestly never made (anymore) during practice. So glad I got my license, wouldn't want to go through it again.

16:30 to be honest I know I am not a driver I am way too young for driving but I think the BMW shouldn't have merged! They could clearly see the learner and could've slowed down more or stopped since the learner already is in the lane.
you have to be aware of other idiot drivers.
I’d rather fail all my mock practical tests and i Learn from them all and I actually pass my real practice test rather than the other way round pass all the mock tests and fail the actual test I passed my test a few weeks ago
Wow that was a poor performance from Violet but you handled the potentially dangerous situations really well
10:07 I'm really surprised that it is legal to do that in the U.K.! Sounds dangerous, I personally would never do that.
Sounds a bit but it's not dangerous and isn't linked to any accident increase.
Now some numpties want to introduce being able to turn while the light is red if there's no-one coming, that manoeuvre is linked to accidents, can't believe people want that.
It’s a busy road, on the narrow side, with parked cars, driveways, pedestrians, ie, cars on that street have to be careful to look out for hazards.
@13:47 serious fault. No right blind spot check before turning
hmm sort of, but should have been done as a moving off routine anyway, not for the turn section so much. the bigger thing was the observations to the right behind sort of lacking when reversing back out. focused on the left / front of the car some reason
Theres a brake, gas and a clutch in the passenger seat?!
I managed to pass theory 2nd tine and driving odd now days
great video!! God bless truly
In the car parking manoeuvre would you be allowed drive into the space ahead if you weren't straight enough if the first box 🤔
Cheers 👍
No you wouldn't be allowed to do that. Would be a fail unfortunately
@@BulelwakokoYou of course have to watch that nothing else (car, opening door, or pedestrian) could move into that space, but that is a rule I happily ignore. It allows you to move out the parking spot without having to reverse.
Aman, do you not point out and try to change your students habit of crossing arms when turning the wheel? Would this be marked as a minor on a test?
You don't get marked down for the control of the steering wheel anymore, you can hold the steering wheel however you like as long as you have control, that's what my driving instructor told me and that I passed my test with x
One thing is out of my syllabus is that when all your students start driving they are all looking back rather than looking at a rare view mirror why?
My instructor said it depends on the situation whether it's a minor or serious fault. Also, they take into account the rest of your driving too.
I passed my test on my first attempt yesterday with 7 minors.
Now I can join the "Passed but still watching" gang
What car do you use for your lesson I know it’s a merc but don’t know which class and variation it is ; looking to get my second car by January, is it reliable and fuel friendly? thank you for videos.
At 8:50, why it was not considered a fault as she did put indicator first and then waited for DPD van to pass by?
Dangerous: I had to brake and then in 2 sec “good junction observation” 😄 6:25
Learners clogging up the road is the worst of the UK
you had to learn
Everyone has to learn…how do you expect people to drive?
@@tzuyuwu786 The point is I don’t. Learners learn and then end up clogging up the road in their shitty little Toyota Aygos and Fiat 500s and idiots like that Juvenal or whatever his name is then get a license and start causing chaos. Some people shouldn’t be on the road. You should have to half bankrupt yourself on a car before you’re allowed to drive… maybe then people would be better and more careful
@@jayj6951 people take a test though…no one will drive unless they’re deemed safe, people can’t drive just bc u don’t like it
that was a shocking watch, to be honest, she is always looking through things instead of registering whats in front of her. Don't be indecisive.
I was soo stressed about speeding I went too slow and failed/ next test is February and I just had my test in august
My instructor never gave me a mock test and i faild ,any my daughter had 3 and past x
When did She gets angry , You dont want to be there...
Never had a mock test. Given I passed 10 years ago so I guess it wasn't much of a thing back then. I would say these days... is it really a wise choice having sat navs on tests/ training? Doesn't this teach people to not use road signs and blindly follow the sat nav?
She's a bit too hesitant will be interesting to see if she passed?
It's bizarre how you only need 23 hours of driving experience with an instructor to be almost ready to do your test. In Australia, you need 120 hours of driving, which can be with anyone with a full licence. If you do driving lessons, each hour counts towards 3 hours of the 120 you need to do to be able to attempt to get your Provisional 1 licence
So weird trafic, first of all we in sweden have the drivers sit on the left side..
