"A bird delivering information was a good choice on Nintendo as a bird myself delivering information" So this review is biased and I don't believe a word being spoken by this talking bird.
Mario maker 2 is basically DLC for the 5 games it comes with, 3D world is kinda lame since it’s not actually 3D but the amount of levels that come out every day will never make you get bored
fuxt edd I think the coolest thing about this game is all the content and the fact that people make legitimate remakes of full old games in it. You can play a perfectly copied version of NES super Mario bros with the improved controls and physics of this game (which is kinda cheaty but who cares). As someone who loves Mario games and platforming and is always looking for challenges to test my platform skills, this is a great game
Roach I always preorder since 1) I preorder physical copies 2) I don’t need to pay until I receive the game and 3) I am allowed to return the game for a full refund should I be dissatisfied. The kind of preorder that seems silly is the ”pay us while we still are developing the game” kind of deal.

that ending part, spoken like a true video game fan. Not only does it make you appreciate game and level design for nintendo games, but just games in general. Making a solid sidescroller level isn't easy. It's one thing to make a hard one, but a fun one....
I got used to the building levels with a controller very quickly. I got all the hot keys, cursor movement, and menu navigation down. Incase some people haven't figured it out yet pressing X brings back the cursor once your done with the d-pad, holding Y makes it move faster, and tapping Y places Mario on the cursor.
Picked this up today and I’m enjoying it so far. I’m not creative myself at all but it’s really cool to see and play some of these crazy levels others have made already.
They actually took away a few features from the original game too. I noticed some missing features when doing a 1 to 1 recreation of some of my levels from the original game. The starting area has a larger length, which caused me some issues with some of my recreations, and the game no longer allows you to place blocks over the starting arrow. The removal of costumes takes away from my themed levels. The level limit is severely nerfed. I also much preferred unlocking more slots for uploads. I understand some people don't like the docked controls, I actually like them after getting used to them. I wish I had the option to use the same docked controls in handheld mode.
This is a really helpful video! Thanks for this. I've been on the fence for a long time about whether or not to buy this game. I love the 2D Mario platform games (doesn't matter the era it's from), but I know I would suck at creating levels and so wondered if this game is worth it. Your video definitely put my concerns to rest and I will definitely be purchasing this title.
Your only criticism for this game was one of my most favorite things. You now have the option to not put your greasy finger on the screen to make the level. My hand blocks most of the screen, and it’s just way to easy to accidentally drag my finger and place a bunch of unwanted blocks. I love the cursor controls, because it felt like they flowed a lot better. I like pressing the dpad to access the side menu options, as it’s so much faster than putting my finger on the button. My only criticisms with Mario maker 2 are: handheld mode forces you to use touchscreen controls, and the horrible laggy online multiplayer games (I have a good internet connection, it’s not my fault).
@@spaceiscool1236 he's mocking a review that was made by IGN on a game that I don't really remember, they've given a low score for a good game because "too much water"

Oh my god, this game is so much more amazing then I thought it would be. Until a couple months ago I had pretty much ignored the Mario Maker craze. But this is fun.
You didn’t mention that you cannot play any levels from the original Mario Maker (something that I’ve always appreciated the LittleBigPlanet series for doing) and that you can’t stack pipes anymore.
I love Mario Maker 2! I’m on the same boat with you, creating levels and testing them is a bit annoying with the constant switching from handheld to docked and vice versa, but it works. Other then that the game is absolutely great. Take the New Super Mario Bros. series for example. They are fun, but the word ‘new’ shouldn’t be there anymore because it grew old the way it is now. But with this franchise the game deserves it to be a worthy sequel of the first installment, there is so much new stuff in it that the original just feels like a little demo now. The things we can create are amazing, and the course World is better then ever, even after only two days. This is a game I will play a lot, most of the time playing levels but definitely creating them too!
My only disappointment is that it can't recreate the magic and pure mind blowing experience of the first game. When that one came out, it was really just incredible how special it was. Not like I expected it to create that magic again, just wish I could re experience that
I also dislike the local co-op (on one system). From what I have heard and tried, you can only do it by downloading the level, going to your downloaded levels then pressing the multiplayer icon. It's too much of a hassle.
Indeed it is. And you can only have so many downloaded levels. So if you're a couch-coop-aholic, you'll find yourself deleting level all the time trying to manage the ones you want to keep whilst making room for space. It needs a quicker system.

That's why I can only play levels but not make them. I'm thinking about actually buying this game and a 12-month membership at Nintendo Online, just to play the levels. But I saw that the online service in Super Mario Maker 2 pretty much totally sucks. Nintendo has never been good with online, but what I've seen in SMM2 has been the worst so far.
