The funny thing about Galaxy AI is, it literally uses Google Bard. Even when it refreshes or animates, it shows the google bard logo. it is crazy to me that these tech reviewers do not even notice this. ahahahah

Preordered the S24 in that lovely Sandstone Orange and can't wait for it! I'm currently on a Pixel 7 and to be honest..I don't like how it feels compared to the smaller S20 it replaced. Wide phones are just not comfortable. I have an iPad if I want a tablet..
Pixel 7 Is tall with the 20:9 display ratio, the screen is wide as the s24 6.2 screen. Sure the bazels are narrower
I have the pixel 4a 5g that is 6.2 and I bought and sold the pixel 7. 20:9 sucks in my point of view. The 19.5:9 of Samsung and iPhone are better

There are a few things you missed with the AI.
Frame interpolation to create slo-mo footage from standard footage.
The cloud based AI is listed as free until 2025 in the T&C. May be subscription thereafter.
I have an S10 that has served me well, so I'm thinking of getting a new phone.
Currently looking at Pixel 8/Pro, Galaxy S24 and the Sony V 5.
Most people aren't looking to spend 1500$on a phone, so it's great to have a few reviews for models that have a normal price sub 1000$, or at least on sale.
What I find funny about the people saying that they're not getting the s24 or s24 plus because of exynos is that tensor is built on exynos. And from tests I've seen, the exynos 2400 seems to be really good. It's better than the 8 gen 3 in some instances, too. So basically, the pixel series is built on samsngs architecture. If things work out for this year's exynos, I think it would be a great year for Google, too.
Also power efficiency of Exynos 2400 CPU and GPU are fine with especially very high efficiency video playback.
But S24's call time dropped 20% from S23 meaning Samsung's own modem/network connectivity chip has inferior efficiency to Qualcomm's.

Sorry but saying that the S24 and the Pixel 8 have the same camera specs is very inaccurate. The S24 has 3 X optical zoom and a lot of pro settings, including raw shooting which the Pixel 8 only has in the pro version. So if photography is important to you but still don't want a phone the size of a tablet then the S24 is the best choice.

@@fantasytky28 no, because as I mentioned the pixel 8 (or7) cameras don't have optical zoom, raw shooting or pro settings like the S24.
The Pixel 8 can take raw pictures... And for manual settings, there are a lot of third party apps that are doing a great job... Between these two phones it is a choise of color management. Are you prefering a vibrant or a realistic picture...
As a photographer I prefer the more natural colors of the Pixel...
While slightly bigger, Xiaomi 14 would have significantly more photography muscle than Samsung with 50MP 75mm telecamera.
That would give 150mm 12MP crop vs. Samsung's 10MP sensor behind 70mm lens.
Pixel 8 pro is basically the same price of the s24, I go with 8 pro for sure! "Oh, the processing power of sd g3 is much better", who cares about numbers? I need a good camera, good battery, AI features with updates as soon as they're released.
& I would still go with pixel 8 instead a s24.

I'm not fussed and would get either phone , all boils down to which one was the newish when I wanted to upgrade. Turns out Google pixel dropped just as I was about to upgrade, so went with that instead of getting s23 at the time which was almost a year old and no regrets . I'm not into all that waiting game in hope of a successor being better than current crop. When I upgrade, I just buy what's available.
While Pixel 8 Pro has big (by non-Chinese phone standards) battery, rebranded/custom Exynos chipset and big screen are hungry and there's nothing special in endurance.
This year's Exynos in S24 is far more efficient especially in video playback.

Anyway Pixel 8 Pro is largest size phone and not competion for Galaxy S24.
Thank you for this review of the S24. I am looking to upgrade my S22 which, other than its abysmal battery life, has been a the best all around phone. I'd maybe consider the Pixel 8 as I like the price and arguably superior camera, but my one hang up are the relatively wide bezels making it look like a budget phone or phone from the 2010s.

Going to be some complications for S24 battery life with Samsung returning to different variants with Exynos and Snapdragon chipsets after all Snapdragon S23.
Anyway Pixel 8 doesn't do overall well in battery life when including calls/standby and such in GSMarena's testing.

This year's Exynos in S24 is more efficient especially in video playback.

Great video! Here in Austria the Pixel 8 with 256 is 740€ and there were no further deals (besides stuff like get "free" overprized ear pods), while Samsung made me a deal on the S24 265 for 680€. So actually the S24 is 60€ CHEAPER here.
Google does have better Software, but I find it hard to justify paying over 700€ for a phone with inferior hardware, overheating issues while gaming and the same shitty fingerprint reader from previous generations. With Samsung you do feel like you get the best that they could cram into that thing and I like that.
Google has the edge with AI features right now, but with their inferior chip everything has to be done on the cloud and takes forever. Samsung AI is weaker right now, but with the powerful chip has a lot of potential to become great and deliver results quicker. Usually when I take a lot of photos I am not somewhere with high-speed internet. Having the AI capabilities ON YOUR PHONE is an upside that I feel like is ab underrated. So I guess we will see in 2-3 years how this AI-feature race turned out.

Thanks for the useful video. My 10 day old Pixel 8's battery life has been disappointing, but now it is refusing to recharge rapidly, whatever I do - there seems to be a lot of Pixel 8 battery complaints. So now, getting a refund and switching, and will likely go to Galaxy S24.
Return a pixal 8. I was not able to send a voice message Thursday text. I kept getting recording canceled. Google did not have a fix for this. I loved the feel and color of the Pixal 8 . Got a Samsung S24 . It OK. I plan on keeping it fir The 7 years of security updates. I would have kept the Pixal 8 if I could have gotten the voice messages to work.

I really wish Samsung redesigned the camera bump and logo for the S24s. They should make the logo bigger and bolder so it doesn’t look so plain on the back.

Not all AI functions are done on the phone. A lot of them are actually done via cloud. The picture editing for example
I’m watching on my iPhone 15 pro and I’m really wanting to change ecosystems! iPhone and Apple Watches just aren’t what they use to be.
I have the Pixel 8 and I have to admit that am quite disappointed. Yes the cameras are amazing but there are a lot of bugs (surprisingly Google Chrome freezes all the time). The battery life is below average and drains extremely fast. Some tasks that I would consider as low demand from the CPU (like listening to music saved on the phone) lead to heating and rapid battery drain. The multitasking is horrendous. As an example: I'm watching a video on RUclips and open WhatsApp to answer a message. When I come back RUclips has to restart...I wouldn't recommend it unfortunately.
weird I don't have these problems at all, my problem is that Gmail tends to hang and crash after refreshing/loading emails. it's rare and happens only once every 2 days and fixes itself after closing and starting the app again. chrome runs like a charm, and no issues with RUclips and WhatsApp switching. but other than Gmail I don't have any bugs on the 8 pro.

Man thats so sad to hear - since the pixel 3 i wanted a pixel but then different situations did not allow it. Now that another phone switch from the oneplus 8 pro is coming, pixel is slowly but surely not an option for me anymore, even though i love googles android version, aswell as the camera. I guess it will be a samsung again after 4 years...
I love my 5a 5g pixel phone but ever since I dropped it and a get a black screen I'm scared to buy another.

After getting the s23, the cameras were like garbage... Sold it in a month... Then got the pixel 7 pro which had a lot of network issues in my area, so had to sell that but i loved that phone otherwise... Got the iPhone 14 pro but couldn't find any value in spending that much on a phone, so eventually sold it and got pixel 8 at a lot cheaper... With the remaining money got iPad 9th gen and airpods 2nd gen... Still saved some...!! And pixel 8 is the best phone I've had, I won't disagree with MKBHD... Phone of the year... 👍

S24 full charging time?
The S24 is a pretty phone no doubt, but the pixel's software is designed in and out for android. Experience beats everything. Plus, the Pixel 9 is right around the corner and rumor has it, it's going to look extremely similar to the S24 with the aluminum frame and rounded corners like the iphone

You absolutely wrong by saying "every AI feature is done on the phone". In fact 90% of AI features processing is done on Google Cloud by Gemini AI. It's not even a Samsung technology. It is the exact same AI that powers Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro.

Pixel phones are the underdogs compared to Samsung and Apple but I will say that google pixel phones are not followers they do it the Google way but Samsung & Apple are taking notes from Google but hardware and battery hands down Samsung and Apple with the best battery life and chip but I think the ai features are better on the s24 series

Do you think the s25 will be without exynos? I actually have a s22 since two years and i hate it. I want a Change, but i dont know, if i should buy the s24. The s22 killed me and my hairs this two years, i had a lot of problems with it. But i need a new phone and actually the prices for the s23 are getting higher than last year and than the s24. So they hurt us to buy that s24

Its also good to know that Samsung AI features are free only till the end of 2025. Then all these AI features will become subcription based. So choose wisely.

The only problem with the S24 is that it comes with the Exynos 2400 processors in India. Also from 2025 we will need to pay for the AI features in Samsung.

Samsung phones always seem better on the surface but they overlook smaller important festures.
Speaker quality, Microphone Quality, Battery life, NFC responsiveness and OS optimisation are all better on the Pixel 8.

I actually heard good things about Exynos 2400. It performs very good this year. Samsung actually made it give a little competition with the W SD 8 Gen 3
You need to know that Tensor G3 is based on the Exynos platform ( Exynos 2200/2300). Secondly, Exynos 2400 is performing surprisingly well in the initial games and benchmark test. In fact, at times , slightly edging out Snapdragon 8g3.

I guess you're misinforming people on your channel, it's only s24 ultra that uses the snapdragon while the s24+ and S24 uses Samsung Ezynos.
And next time use the phone you mentioned in the headline for comparison like in this case "Galaxy s24 vs Pixel 8, not for you to use s24 ultra for illustration.
