This hands-on review runs through the Samsung S24 Ultra specs and shows how this £1249 beast stacks up to the Galaxy S24 Plus and mini 2024 smartphone. For one, you get upgraded camera hardware, including a 200MP primary shooter and 50MP periscope zoom. However, the other phones can now capture 8K video at 30FPS and they have the same ultra-wide and selfie setup.
The other big difference is the chipset - in the UK, that Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the S24 and Plus are Exynos 2400. Stick around for more on the differences!
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus now boasts a QHD screen just like the Ultra model, and it's only a mite smaller. However, the S24 Ultra does upgrade that Victus 2 screen coating to Gorilla Glass Armor, which is anti-reflective as well as scratch resistant.
Stay tuned for my full review of these phones to see how the Samsung S24 Ultra gaming performance and battery life compares to the Plus and regular models. I'll be fully testing all three here on Tech Spurt so stay tuned for all that, but which do you prefer - the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Plus or regular? Let us know below!

Exynos not being on the Ultra is an indirect way of admitting it's not as good
Truth
Or the reason to fool all of us who think Snapdragon is better and choose Ultra instead of Plus. I have S22 with Exynos and I am not impressed!
Yup, they clearly don't have enough faith in the exynos to put it in their main flagship phone
I mean Qualcomm's creator literally comes himself during the Galaxy unpack event to talk about Samsung and Qualcomm's collaboration. All of that would be pointless if Samsung Exynos was equally good.
What happened to the AMD x Exynos lol. They hyped up the whole announcement, making people think they are going to do some huge and 3 years after the announcement they are still using snapdragon processors.

Don’t know why they’ve gone back to exynos! The S23 series had the best performance and battery life in a long long time of galaxy devices. Shame
The good news is that the S23 series will now become cheaper since the S24 is finally out!
With Samsung it's always down to the cost of manufacturing but they don't pass that saving us they are fucking cheeky

I was super happy to see the ultra had SD while ordering it. Assumed they had finally switched to only using SD. Only to find out the regular s24 phones are still getting screwed. Glad I got the SD for a change though.
As a Galaxy S22 Ultra owner, I feel no urge or excitement for the S24. Even my Note 9 is still rocking alright to this day. At this rate maybe the S28 might pique my interest
I'd upgrade from the s22 Ultra since it was a pretty poor phone generally.
However s23 to s24 not so much.
At this point the only thing that will make me drop my Note 9 is when the OLED completely burns out.

Great video mate. Cheers for the info on all 3.
Great overview.. thanks
Probable a great update - if your current phone is 4-5 years old. Pointless upgrade if you are on the s22 or s23. Same with all the other brands. You d be a fool to upgrade to an iPhone 15, if you had an iPhone13 or 14 before .. but upgrading makes some sense if you still had an iPhone X .. or maybe even a 11.
As for the Exynos vs. Snapdragon debatte .. i can only take it serious .. if you had 10 phones .. 2 with exynos, the rest with Snapdragons .. and you people can reliably always pick out the exynos ones in a blind test. If not .. its just supersticion and feeling. With that said - i had a Note 20 with Exynos and also a Note 20 with Snapdragon (i stepped on my first phone) - and in veryday usage .. there was zero difference between those two.
This guy is straight up HILARIOUS!!🤣🤣🤣

Would bought the s24plus, but the cpu is a dealbreaker for me, everything else is great. 🤷♂️😮
Samsung is very very smart when it comes to marketing and specs. I genuinely thought the standard S24 would have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, however, they have decided to use that chipset on the S24 Ultra only, considering I bought a Redmi K70 pro with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for around £440, Samsung certainly know how to maximise profits and use the AI line to market the phones.
I was expecting more and better software features for the price but there was nothing to tempt me to purchase the new model, I'll stick with my K70 pro for now. Also, the charging on the S24, 25 watts?, jesus Samsung, it's 2024, not 2010, they could have at least done a 65 watt charger.
Also, I have today just watched another video on RUclips, Samsung have decided to release all S24 models in the US with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, so I have to ask why us brits/europeans are fobbed off with the Exynos chipset and also having to pay more for the mobile phone.
Samsung says Galaxy S24 AI features are "free until the end of 2025."
It's really scummy. From the rumors that I half heard I also thought they were doing SD for all phones this year. I always get the note/ultra so while ordering I saw SD and was happy that it was true and they had switched. Only to find out later that the regular s24 and the plus aren't getting snapdragon. I really hope they come to their senses because they are starting to lose market share to apple and these types of moves don't help
Samsung is cap now. No more value in their phones. They are trying to copy Apple 🍎 by making more $$ per phone which is leading to loss of market share.
I am sticking with my note10 and s10. They are perfect.
Here in India also first rumours were of getting SD 8Gen3 but they launched it with Exynos. Last years S 23 series was with SD 8Gen2 due to which it got huge sales number here. I am totally disappointed as was planning to buy S24+ with a QHD display.
You scared me I thought you meant in the US market we don't get gen 3 on the s24 and s24 +
Lucky that you are in the US, we get ripped off here in the UK.@@lenacheney

Waiting for full reviews of the Ultra and the Honor Magic 6 Pro before making the purchase.
I'm on the same boat, still have the 21 ultra. I have the square design of this ultra, though. It's pushing me to the s24+ for the design and small form factor, but then it would be downgrade from s21 ultra..
@@sezoism if you're looking for that kind of size, I think the Honor might be a better bet. It's a criminally underrated brand.
@@Backpfeifengesicht45 Rock on. I can't wait for the Magic 6 Pro. Honor is unfortunately the only alternative we have from Samsung and Xiaomi. I was gonna opt for the Xiaomi 14 Pro until it got canceled from launching globally. I'm first of all so glad that Honor didn't decide to give the Magic 6 Pro a 1440p screen resolution, while already bumping the battery even further. I just wouldn't benefit from such unnecessary extremities, when brightness is what matters to me and not smoothness and perfection.
@@distar7471 1440P is pointless in a screen that's less than 24". It's a battery draining gimmick. I've never set my screen beyond HD+, and would set it lower to save battery if a lower setting existed.
Awesome phone wallpapers as always.
I preordered that s24+ just for the upgraded screen. Had to have it. Trading in my s23+
If the Snapdragon is noticeably more powerful and efficient than the Exynos there should be a class action lawsuit against Samsung, you wouldn't expect to pay Series X money for a Series S, it's wrong and the fact they refuse to put the Exynos in the Ultra already speaks volumes.
Is anyone going to talk about how a lot of the AI features will require a monthly subscription starting next year?

Very curious to see the exynos vs snapdragon comparison this year. By sticking the 8 gen 3 in the uktra its safe to say it must be quicker but wonder how much UK buyers of the regular s24 are getting shafted this year
Faster modem on the exynoss but limited less upto date wifi / bluetooth. Graphics on par. Exynoss has 10 compute cores vs 8 on Snapdragon. SD has higher clock speed so benchmarks higher. Real world / multi-use TBD
I wonder how many of these new AI features actually need the snapdragon 8 gen 3. Google's Tensor G3 is inferor to the 8 gen 2, yet the Pixel seems to have pretty decent AI features. You get the feeling the S24 is just an S23 with a software update.

Probably not much since it relies on cloud computing. This whole thing is just marketing.
As much as i may wanna get the Ultra for that flat display, I'm probably gonna wait until next year. Hopefully everything they added with this lineup will be more refined with the S25 series.
Sure, but everything they add with the 25 will be refined with the 26 series. It’s a constant loop. If you want a new phone just get one. OS updates will help every year anyways.

In my country, trade-in for the iPhone 14 pro max is around 60% of the price of the s24 ultra, so it might be higher in your country and a newer phone.
I just upgraded to a S23 about 4 months ago from an S10. It does everything I need in a cell phone. The battery lasts me all day and that's using it all day at work for music and RUclips videos. When I go to bed usually around 9:00 pm it's at around 45% battery. No complaints here.
Exonus 2400 is going to be worse than 7+ gen 2 , or even dimensity 8100. Exonus will get good benchmark but in real life efficiency matters which is not possible without tsmc fab. , Samsung n4 is less efficient than tsmc n6.
Why do the bezels of the S24 plus look bigger than the vanilla S24? Ruins the aesthetic imo.
I was hoping there would be SD8G3 in the Plus but I've had bad experiences with the Exynos chips, so I'ma have to decide between the Plus and the Google Pixel 8 Pro.
