Nuzlocke rules:
Fainted Pokemon must be permanently boxed
Only the first encounter on any given route may be caught (dupes clause)
All pokemon must be nicknamed
Hardcore Rules:
Always Set mode
No items from the bag option in battle (held items are ok)
No overleveling the next gym leader

fun fact: despite the randomizer randomizing abilities, the ability the Squirtle Antlerboy caught, "Rain Dish", is actually Squirtle's hidden ability in the normal game.
i wish it got mega launcher as its hidden ability in later gens, so weird why they didnt considering blastoise quite literally has cannons on its back

I have an idea for a little extra difficulty for a nuzlocke!! Could limit the pokemon in your party to match the number of the next gym leader. As always love your videos!

My dude using Double Team against a Pokemon (a Landorus, no less) with Punishment was very brave.
(For those that don't know, the move Punishment increases in power the more stat boosts the opposing Pokemon has. Like a reverse Power Trip).
The major downside to the move is that it kinda fails at what it's designed to do, since most sweepers tend to be fast or have ways to boost their Speed and offensive stats (Weakness Policy Rock Polish, Dragon Dance, etc.) So even if you had a mon who could use it, you'd still get outsped and 1 shot, unless you were rocking a Focus Sash for precisely this occasion, but why would you waste a slot for what's a pretty niche situation instead of using something more consistently reliable?

I had a thought for a nuzlocke idea. Rather than just catching only one per route you have to try to catch everything you run into. You're also not allowed to swap out of the box willy-nilly, only when a Pokemon dies and even then, you have to use the next earliest caught Pokemon. For example, if the first boxed Pokemon you catch is a Caterpie, you can't then swap it in until one of the six on your current team dies. Since Pokemon fill the boxes in order of capture, it should, in theory be relatively easy to keep track of the catch order.
You could randomise as well if you wanted. Either way, I think that would be a hell of a challenge on top of hardcore nuzlocke rules or even if you played softcore.

What are the odds of literally seeing the 3 Kanto starters just at the begining of the game, in a random nuzlocke?! Plus, despite the abilities being randomized, Squirtle managed to get its freaking HIDDEN ABILITY.
Someone may have already mentioned this, but snorlax out sped because of tailwind, not prankster. Also Hala couldn’t heal because his tyrantrum was locked into thrash. Thanks for the fun video!
