Yeah, Leafeon's 130 base defense puts it in the same physical bulk tier as Golem, Dusclops, Metagross, and Rhyperior. Also, more then Mega Sabeleye, Cresselia, Dialga, Zacian, and ZYGARDE. Its kind of insane, especially since its base attack is also 110, the same as Lucario, Arcanine, Snorlax, and higher then quite a few other beasts, and a solid base 95 speed. If it wasn't for its terrible hp and spdef, the fact that it learns Synthesis would make it an unkillable juggernaut of a mon.
The statement about Lucian is just fact. As a dumb kid who didn't wanna grind, I fought the elite four getting stronger and just lost when I got to him. The joy I felt when I won only to find out it wasn't over cause I didn't know I had to face the championship. She proceeded to wreck me and I had to do it many times more
I have seen many Grass runs where Torterra ends up being the MVP but the Abomasnow taking the spot here was quite surprising, never used one due to being quad weak to Fire so I didn't even know he could learn Swords Dance. What a Chad
Leafeon recently became my favourite Eeveelution after playing through UM, I try and make room for it in any team from now on after seeing how good it is. Leafeon is indeed Best Boi
Leafeon is a good Pokémon. Marriland actually used one in his Platinum Nuzlocke (which actually used HC rules), and Extremely did pretty well (even being one of two survivors, along with Ninjarisu the Pachirisu).
Lucian, along with Cynthia and Cyrus, constitute the big killer three of Platinum late game. None of them should be taken lightly otherwise you can flat out lose to them. Bronzong behind dual screens and spamming calm mind is so scary!
@graceholbert2126 tbf it's been a while since I've played Plat, and taking on a Steel trainer with Grass types doesn't fill me with confidence 😅 Obvs Torterra has Earthquake so yeah it won't be as hard necessarily
It really depends on the generation, like on Gen 3/Gen 4 is possible (as shown by Antler for Platinum, FlygonHG on Emerald) while for Gen 2 is basically impossible seeing its first two gyms (like, c’mon, how are you beating a quaresisted Scyther considering your encounters), same with Gen 5 B/W, it’s impossible to beat Lillipup+Pansear with just a Snivy.
In Gen 8 cherubi is one of the best Grass types you can have, since it gets Solar blade. Ever seen a happy little cherry conjuring up a huge blade of sunlight and smashing the opponent really hard? It was so much fun
Great vid man! Platinum was my first pokemon game as a kid but I was never able to defeat Crasher Wake, maybe I should have enlisted the help of a Best Boi RIP
Fun Fact!: X-Scissor in fact does NOT have a high critical hit rate, at least until Legends Arceus. You'd think it does given it's similarity to other high crit moves, but in actuality it has no secondary effects.

Leafeon the goat tbh i got an adamant mold breaker poison/dark one as my starter in a hgss Randomizer. Had dark void too. Carried the whole run especially with the mold breaker for the anti wonder guard
Speaking of abomasnow, his speed evs wouldve made him outspeed garchomp with abomasnow 😂 and 1 blizzard would’ve easily koed garchomp. Idky he made his life hard by switching.
Rapidash at level 53 with 31IVs(as it does in this game to my knowledge) has a speed stat of 132. (Assuming Speed EVs are 0) Abomasnow can outspeed this with a Lonely nature that you had only if it has perfect 31 speed IVs and 252 speed EVs. Are you really telling me that you managed to get a first encounter Snover with perfect Speed IVs and then perfectly EV trained it to have max Speed? Cuz that's crazy lucky and good at the same time. Hats off to your luck and skills this run if that's the case 🔥🙌
Great as always! You've got that extra sprinkle of magic that even a lot of the good content creators lack. You manage to throw so many laughs in there in every video and it seems effortless! Perfect example at 6:01 (listen carefully when skuntank is sent out lol)

I am stunned how much defense leafeon has because it looks VERY frail
Same, I thought Leafeon was frail AF! New level of respect for the leafy boi xD
Your defiantly thinking of its special defense it have physical defense for Days
I mean umbreon also looks very frail and it’s damn near unkillable with the right set
