i love the platinum lettering on the end of the bed. i was suprised to see it not carried over from the 2016 version. Did you just order the same letters from the 2016 model and put them on there?
Yes that's exactly what I did. I'm probably going to remove the 4x4 off road sticker also as it doesn't go with the theme I'm going for. I've done some more modifications too it recently. New vid coming soon!
Could you let us know how difficult it is to remove the 4x4 decal - those trash up these trucks
P J Flintstone Take a hair dryer to it and slowly warm it up to get the sticky stuff soft.... start peeling one corner gently with a finger nail. Won’t take much if u warm it up properly.... then peel er off warming as u go.... simple process. Hair dryer works good cause it’s not overly hot. I’ve seen heat guns do damage if you’re not careful....
Matthew Quigley that’s exactly what i did. FX4 stickers are off and looks muuuch better now with just the Platinum lettering. New video will be up soon showing it. 🤙🏽

I love it!! I've had 2012 F150 a 2007 F250 and now a 2015 F150. There is such a different feeling when driving a disesel especially when you give it a intake and exhaust pipes with a tune it like makes it come to life. Probably when I pay off this F150 I'll go back to F250 since diesel gas so much easier to get when a hurricane happens here in Florida. I love my F150 bit like I said a F250 to me feel so damn good and the diesel engine really good too.

Great review..I bought a 2016 2 yrs ago.. wish I held out... Hate sync 2 and love the new larger rear cab area among other things..
It was the old SD cab design that made me choose a RAM mega cab back in 2015 when I was in the market for a new truck. The prior SD cab had a small back seat with limited leg room and a very upright rear seat. Great truck from a capability standpoint but I just found the cab to be lacking. I'm glad to see that Ford got it right for the 2017 model year.

This truck is beautiful! I'm looking at picking up a 2017 King Ranch. I'm looking to delet and tune it tho... have you done that to yours yet? If so dose it run a lot better? How's the mpg "Stock vs Tuned?" I live in Cali so It's Risky to tune and delet over here but I still think it's worth it

If you want more offroad capability get flush fitting front and rear bumpers with integrated winches/lighting (keep it tight though, like the rest of the truck, of course) then add a multitude of underbody protection mods. Breakover angle isn't something you find in a pickup anyway so focus on protecting the underbody as much as possible and improving the approach and departure angles by replacing the front and rear bumpers. Also if you add larger wheels and tires just make sure you spare as much time and money as necessary when integrating the new size into your setup, idk if your shocks are adjustable or if you know how to dial in new settings in your suspension. Sometimes the camber or toe angles get thrown off with different tires and or wheels so what happens to your new tires is the wear pattern is biased and things go downhill from there. I've seen it happen to many people where the driving characteristics were deeply impacted and the vehicle became twitchy, loud and just a pain in the ass to drive. Not to mention things begin to break, transfer cases, axles or what have you. It's a simple mod that must be approached with caution and in some cases a consultant.
who did your tailgate? is it a literal wrap or is it painted? I would certainly prefer the paint match over the silver color.

What kind of leather cleaner do you use? I got the same truck but white with the maroon leather. cleaners ive used seem to be removing the color off my seats .

Leveling kit was cheap I think it was around $250. So far this motor has been a beast!! No complaints at all.

I have 600 miles on my new 2017 f 150 Platinum, 4x4 v6 with tech package. It wouldn't start today and had to have it towed. It was flashing different messages on dash and was clicking under the hood and making noises then I started smelling burning. Anyone else had this happen. I am worried.

I think the crew cab standard bed is a great configuration but only if you're going to buy it in a high trim level, such as this one. I also totally see what you're doing with trim, handles and tailgate wrapping then in black, very tasteful changes. Nice to see you didn't ruin it by murdering it out smoking all the lights, de-badging everything or blacking out lettering. Just very well done and a great specification to boot. Nice work.
Is it me or should this truck come with some beefier tires? It seems like this truck is riding on stilts with these skinny tires.
I'm considering a 2018. Would really like to know how much you got off the sticker price when you bought this. I had a 2016 king ranch and didn't care for it. May give the 2018 platinum a try. Nice looking truck. Did they deal with you or not?
Rodney Myers I have the 2018 6.2 platinum. It was about 4k off the sticker and then 1k rebate. I don't have the exact numbers in front of me but can look later if you like. I found out that and decent dealer will give you the same "invoice price" which is a few thousand under msrp. Then it's usually rebates that drop it even more.
I have the same truck and love it! However, my local freeway has a lot of little cracks on the road. Is it normal that the truck has some “jiggle” when going on the freeway with these rough roads? It’s my first half ton truck so that might come with the territory

Hey man, love your truck! how many inches is you're lift? And I was planing on soon upgrading from f-150 to f-250 because I'm thinking about buying a bigger RV (about 10,000 LBS) and I don't know if my f-150 can pull that easily? what do you think?
Exquisite Vidz thanks bud. Leveling kit in the front is 2.5 inches. Rear is stock. At 10,000 lbs depending on how your F150 is configured it should be able to tow it, but pretty much maxed out. The F250 will tow that with no issues and less stress on the truck. Hope that helps
If I get that RV i'll probably get the f-250 because I would be towing it for a an hour or two on the highway and wouldn't want put that kind of stress on the f-150 from what your telling me. Anyway, I really appreciate the help. Have a good one.

pious human no doubt I considered it. However I’m looking to get a boat that’s going to weigh in the 15k lb to 18k lb range so the Raptor wouldn’t have been able to handle that kind of weight.
I loved this truck but the one thing that made me go for the GMC was how hard the steering was on the Ford.
which ford are you talking about with the hard steering? the 2017 and 2018 I drove had assisted steering at lower speeds and higher speeds was good, loved both of them

I am regretting the GMC purchase from a shaking problem inherent in many of them. GM can't fix mine and they have sucked on followup

Changing the shocks void your warranty?
Holly Taylor , nope doesn’t the void the warranty. Ford obviously just wouldn’t cover the new shocks if they fail, Fox does have a separate warranty for the shocks themselves.

Awesome truck! - although my question is... I've played around with Ford's configuration on it's website, and F-250 and F-350 are of relatively similar price... say F-250 Platinum base price and F-350 Platinum base price is just about $1,000 difference... on 71k base price, 1k difference seems pretty tiny... why not go ahead and get the F-350 instead??
pininfarina575 Good question. I noticed that as well however the configuration I was looking for was hard to find as is at the time I got it and I wanted to avoid ordering one. Also I don’t need the extra payload capacities as the 250 is plenty for my needs. I got a good deal on this one and just couldn’t pass it up
pininfarina575 I have a f250. Neighbor has the 350. One difference is how you register it. 350 is at a different level and more expensive to register. At least here in FL
The only differance is an extra leaf spring and badges.
Same brakes and same axles.
The rear end gears are different F350 made for towing.

What color wrap did they use for your tailgate?
It's a gloss black wrap that matched the color of the truck perfectly. The shop I used had a few black options and this one matches perfectly. If you're in the south Florida area you can check them out. RodWraps is their name.

The RAM fit and finish is nicer and the gauge area is nicer in the RAM as well. I'm surprised how much plastic tab looking buttons in the cab. I can't see that truck lasting more than five years looking good.
