I think seeing the engine start was just as exciting for those of us who have watched all the videos of it being rebuilt as it was for you, Sam. Thanks for your endless patience and devotion to the old engines and your viewers.
Shopdogsam pure joy at 4:33! After all the work, there is still excitement when the engine comes alive! A guy has got to be careful else this can lead to a lifetime of this sort of addiction. Thanks for sharing your expertise and joy
Wow, that must be just so satisfying to you personally hear and observe, not to though I suspect as you knew it would go. In a funny way somehow I know I was so pleased too. Thanks as I've watched all through the whole series.
Ingenios trick for your contactor for the coil. My grandfather took the base for an ek left just the contactor on it and it still works today 60 yrs later.
Very cool.. always wanted a hit and miss engine.. always watch em run at the local antique power show in town.. gonna have to find one to build I think.
Sweet Runner Sam! Great ignition tips! I was a little apprehensive when the water was added to the tank... I feared a cracking sound... ;). Thanks for sharing!
,,,, yes, judging from the dried up grease in the grease cups,,, I would say it's been a long time past that this engine was last run,, and that first start after a rebuild is what it's all about,,, thanks
Just couldn't help smiling to your reaction when it kicked off. WaHoo! Good to see the Ducktape Girl dropped by for a visit. Seems she's been a little scarce the last couple months or so.
Great job Sam it works like the proverbial clock!!! I am an engine collector from Malta and I follow all your video clips I am always learning something new:-)) Keep it up.
my grand dad used a engine like that to run a mill.,use to grind corn and whet to make flour and from corn .,corn meal he did that for the whole village it was in the late 30s early 40s but the fuel was not gasoline it was call petroleo and looked like kerosine it was kind of blue ish purple..thanks for the memorys...
What is that beautiful little glass jar and brass top sitting on top the water hopper? Looks like its full of gas or oil maybe? Never mind you said it oiled the piston I think.
Sam. I am SO glad to know you are out there! I am a little confused however. I picked up a 1927 Mccormick deering, it's labelled gasoline. It has the wilco magnetto all brass cover, it's lovely, someone has done some work to it at some point, is it a type M or a bailer wire? I have spark, no fuel, will use your lovely videos to help me get this puppy running. The serial number is AW49278. Do you sell parts? All new to me! thanks so much for posting these videos. I am much appreciate them all
Could someone help me out and explain what this was and/or is used for? I don't know motors and engines and stuff like that.... Was it used for belt driven things where the belts go on the flywheels? Thanks for the info and forgive my ignorance on this matter... Frank
,,,, if the top of your engine's water hopper has been broken off and then wired in place as not to be lost,,, then it's a bailer wire,, if not, it's a type "M",,,, no parts, thanks
My opinion; best ignition ever. dont matter if they even get wet. My car has the original coils it was built with in 1923. Ya dont stick ya hand in the flywheel it just may feel like gettin a free start........... the other Sam
Hello, Really injoyed you videos. How long will this engine run on a gallon of gas? I have a 2 1/2 hp Waterloo that I am planning on rebuilding this Summer if I can find the parts. Regards, Arnold.

Not bad. Now put a pulley on it and put it to work! Seeing one run is nice, seeing one running at full song is best.
