  • Not only is this a how-to on starting the 'M' engine, but it is a cold-start to boot! It has been below 32 degrees F here for several days now, and I have not run the engine in about a months time. See the several steps in starting an engine of this type.

    What kind of fuel pump do you have with a sight bow and that primer lever. My M does not have either. I have to use packing in my pump and I rebuilt it 3 times before I could get it to run an anything but the primer in the mixer.

      It's a GM fuel pump. The last couple of years the 1-1/2 horse M were made came with them. They work great after replacing the diaphragm.
