    Good job, you did have fun. And for cheap :)

    • @ThomasPCGuruENGINES
      @ThomasPCGuruENGINES  Год назад +1

      Yes! Thank you! At least I hope it was cheap...well, I know one of these in good condition is worth more...but this one is a much-modified non-original without factory ignition, cart, exhaust, carb...but that doesn't affect my fun. I couldn't really justify 3 to 4x the price anyway :)

      You are too kind! The video starts off "very nice" and goes awry when we lost the good smartphone...which was discovered after 4 days in the shower...but still goes...except for fogged lenses...which is the only bit I use...so,...I have run out of words but will keep everyone posted:)

    I like the sound of these old engines🙂. You make good restorations. Regards from Stig Österberg from Dalsbruk in Finland (the other side of the world.)

      Terveisiä! Thank you very much! I'm not so sure I do good restorations, but we can have fun. This engine is pretty tired....I also love the sounds of the engines. Tervetuloa Stig!

    You might try holding the intake valve open when initially cranking to get the flywheels spinning faster. Less chance of breaking a wrist or digit. Works well on My 1916 1&1/2 hp Fairbanks-Morris. Very nice and good running engine, Great find!

    Hi.
    I discover your videos and your passion for the Miss engines.
    I first saw these engines on my travels in New Zealand, at Napier Art Deco weekend.
    I have always dreamed of having a Miss but in Switzerland it is extremely difficult, So I'm happy with the scale models M 92 and Red Wing from Pm Research.
    Thank you very much for sharing.
    Regards Christian.

    Good magneto, great for zapping the kids… Good Lord, you sound like my dad! He told me to check the connection to the spark plug while the lawnmower was running… Afterwards, he said, I bet you never do that again.

      Yeahhhhhh.....could do I suppose but the carb reliability as it is seems a bigger problem to me. Once that is solved....thing is, I have seen a fully complete one sell here for not much more than I paid...so...I wait

    Thankyou for the information and the video on how to get the chore boy running.
    I have one here in Christchurch, NZ. It was my late husband's pride and joy. It seems as though it wouldn't start, because the petrol wasn't getting through. We managed to get it working by poring a little bit of petrol. I notice that you use a glass jar. Is this a common problem?

    • @ThomasPCGuruENGINES
      @ThomasPCGuruENGINES  5 месяцев назад

      I'm no expert on this particular model only really on the little ones though the principals are the same. The original carburetor is an extremely simple affair with a needle valve, I'd first disassemble this and clean and check for blockages. My carb is a replacement so I guess others must have this issue...and mine is off a Ford Model A and way more complex and unsuited really. Welcome to the comments, Do keep in touch :)

    That lister has twin fuel tanks the smaller one is for petrol and the other for paraffin or kerosene we have lots of them in England we used have something called tvo which was basically paraffin you get it hot on petrol and then turn it over to tvo or kerosene or paraffin I have tractors like that

    • @ThomasPCGuruENGINES
      @ThomasPCGuruENGINES  Год назад +1

      I've heard about this dual fuel thing bit I thought there had to be more syuff eg on the carburettor. Do you mean my actual lister could have originally been dual-fuel??
