Thanks Sal. I appreciate that. This is all new to me. I don’t think I’ve ever made a video at work until these last few weeks so I’m open to feedback and advice. Also, I’m not very tech savvy 😉
Thanks. I have done it. It was definitely solid. It’s possible that you lose some of its properties when doing that though. Blanke recommends that the Permat sit directly under the tile. I would probably contact them for their recommendation.
serious question as i am trying to educate myself in order to tile the floor in my own home (and thankful i found your videos). is cement board not necessarily required in this case? also if doing a total of two layers of plywood would cement board still be required? (all in the case of laying 12x12 marble tile) thank you in advance!
@@ericclapton3953 cement board is just one of many options for tiling over wood floors. We don’t really use it nowadays. There are much better options available like uncoupling membranes. With 2 layers of plywood, I would recommend them using a thin uncoupling membrane instead of cement board.
Mark, I like that you use various manufacturer’s installation products. I did the same, trying to compile the best combination for the application. Some “frankengeuze” creations got smeared on the forums but I saw that multi-faceted approach gain traction over time. Nice video … I’m still a tile and stone geek at heart.
Thanks Juan. Yeah I know what I like and don’t like nowadays and I’m comfortable with it. I think when I was younger I tried to use what was popular and now I just use what I like. It all works if we use it right.
Very nice, you give some great advice, I might suggest you record videos in landscape for long form videos.

Nice work. I agree about the importance of being clean and organized. Would you ever pour leveler over the reinforcement mat?

Would love to hear more about how you are efficient and clean. I am NOT 😂

Would permat help with deflection of the floor joists or just the subfloor?
@@wesleyboll7207 just the subfloor. You would still need an adequate joist structure
Never got to to the finish product of this shower. I know it was dope
Thanks. Check my other vids.
