    6:45 spinning bludgeon charge you NEED to hold ZR WHILE spinning to charge all the way, immediately after you can swap into strength/courage to infinitely swap to charge level 3's between each mode.

      I had to find this out myself in the training room. It's a shame the tooltips for the moves or hunters notes dont tell you all of the options when executing switch skills. I wonder how many other things people dont know at all or havent discovered yet. Capcom has a habit of hiding easter egg abilities in their games: Mega Man with hadouken, Lost Planet 2 with its secret support weapon team blasts, Street Fighter 6's Blanka taunt can be used as an attack... I only learned recently that you can Axe mode out of a peak performance block.
      So, no info from the game and almost misleading tutorials online... idk man.

    For Spinning bludgeon: Charge, you can press ZR again when you're spinning to go straight into level 3 charge and then press A to change stance, both strength style and courage style (yes you get into the 3rd charge even with courage). It's really nice. I do prefer the normal spinning bludgeon tho.
    Also after water strike, you can go straight into charge ZR without pressing A (in courage style) to go into level 2 uppercut. Really useful when you get the water strike parry but the monster is a little far so you could go and woop in with the uppercut.

      I didn't know about the water strike to lvl 2 for courage. That's going to help a bit when I water strike ranged attacks.

      I love water striking Magna's tail blast, getting the lv2 charge, then Keeping Sway in and punish him with the uppercut. It's so satisfying to pull off. All of hammer's new tools just synergize so well with courage and each other that I feel like I have an option for any scenario.

    Been playing a LOT more hammer in Sunbreak. It was always that pocket pick I'd use once in a blue moon, but now I'm actually learning some intricacies. Didn't know you could go into the Big Bang from spin. That makes that move so much more useful. I've been using spinning bludgeon charge most of the time because circling back to my prefered blue mode is just really nice. Having access to that mode switch dodge in both modes as well.

    • @mint5438

      Can you do it with the new charge skill they added? If so then that's going to be a MAJOR game changer

    • @justsomejojo
      @justsomejojo 2 года назад +2

      I'm not quite sure what you mean. The Chargemaster armor skill? If so, yes, it works with all of hammer's charge attacks, but from what I hear the actual numerical bonus sadly isn't that big. I haven't looked into the numbers much though.

  • @luiscesarmariafilho9475
    @luiscesarmariafilho9475 2 года назад +7

    Spinning Bludgeon Charge synergizes really well with both courage and strength, you can combo from the spinning Charge to strength level 3 and the back into spinning level 3 due to stance swap from blue to yelllow skiping to level 3 charge, same for courage, but you can also instead of going for level 3, you can go swap to level 2, hit the uppercut, do level 3 and then swap to spinning bludgeon charge again, I think Hammer in sunbreak is just refreshing with how much more tech it has withotu losing the simplicity, Capcom really nailed with some weapons that were stagnant in changes, Lance, Hammer, IG, Gunlance, Switch Axe,SnS, they all got the biggest glow up.

    I just started using courage style hammer and i’m liking it, it feels more fluid like your combos flow into each other more naturally. I’m not a big fan of strength style where you have to walk around charging and then once you do the charged brutal big bang then there’s no combo extender so you have to walk around charging again and it just feels weird and like there’s a lot of downtime. I like how you can water strike then upswing then immediately go into charge level 3, and I like that spinning bludgeon > big bang combo, it’s nice to see spinning bludgeon actually get some use

    Watching some speedruns in strength mode and it seems that you can do just fine with the standing Big Bang (not the longer one) at max charge+Impact Press instead of Impact Crater. You can completely ignore Impact Crater and end up with a similar time if you did use it.

Couldn't think of it at the time but yeah I saw runs using mostly raw hammer with strength(last boss hammer) and the times with Courage (with element hammer) and Impact Crater and Strength without any Impact Crater but only using Brutal Big Bang were extremely close which means hammer is in a much better state for variety.

    Surprised you didn't point out that Courage hammer now cancels Overhead 2 into the Lv2 charge, which is a pretty sick way to link combos. Also, Spinning Bludgeon was really good in MH4U (as you recall,) because the Follow-Up cancel into a golf swing was one of the best ways to damage and downed monster and make sure they take a wakeup Golfswing.
