    I don't know, this counts more as spectacle for me.
    Jokes aside while Strength Hammer is the worst weapon in the game it at least holds the distinction of making speedruns of endgame monsters look like proper fights.
    It doesn't deal enough damage to get past Amatsu's scripted attacks (it only ever happened to me one time to skip the first one), so in the end this is a rather slow encounter.
    I was able to find somewhat of a script in how to approach this fight with Hammer though, so I got it in the bag and all I need is some good moveset RNG on Amatsu's side.
    I'm still very satisfied with sub 6:30 that's really the best I could do in an entire afternoon of practice.
    But I don't mind because it really showcases the entirety of the fight and like I said, it's a spectacle.
    Amatsu was clearly meant to be a spectacle fight, Rise-Style like Gaismagorm and Allmother Narwa. It wasn't meant to be overly challenging. I think this is the single most beautiful fight in the entire series.
    Amatsu also has a perfect mix of some of its old moveset and some amazing new additions. It's really an amazing fight, up there as one of my favorites now.
    My only gripes with the fight are those scripted attack sequences, the Valstrax intrusion, and the hitbox on Amatsu's long-lasting single tornado attack. Sometimes I can Water Strike Amatsu's attack and be right inside the tornado, dead at the center and clearly not making contact with it, and yet I'd still get hit.

    I love when you do these spectacle fights. Just like there’s a lot of skill in scripting and executing the script, there’s really something to be said for still pulling it off with a less than optimal setup that gives the monster room to breathe.
    Amatsus fight is definitely my favourite in the series,and i’m glad so much care was put into bringing them forward.
    Seeing her end up in that hill near the end made my whole face scrunch i sympathy. I really hope they get rid of the hammer slope attacks next game, or at the least get rid of the absolutely janky lag between moving and stopping and swinging.

    Man, i have a lot of conflicting feelings about Amatsu's addition! easily one of my favorite monsters, yet capcom never fails to... well. i think he's a very fun fight, and as it is a video game, that's what matters. Sooo glad you brought up his one cyclone attack that has a lingering hitbox- and it's crazy because his other tornadoes don't. that and his gale where he raises you in the air to trap you in a tunnel always get me- i swear to god I'm mashing wiredash but it's random if I can get out or not.

    I wonder what they’ll do with the final monster in June. It would be hard to top the spectacle of Amatsu and the challenge of Risen Shagaru Magala, so is it just going to aim to be a combination of the two? Whatever they end up doing, I can’t wait to see it.

      Pretty sure itll be harder than anything we have seen yet. Just consider the fact that normal malzeno can teleport and already has quick and powerful attacks, just let that sit for a bit, considering this will be the final monster of the entire game

      @@user-sz6wo3in7k idk maybe, I never really struggled to read Malzeno compared to Shagaru Magala, it could just be a good matchup for me in particular. I just want a cool fight, I don’t really care if it’s overly difficult as long as it’s fun, y’know?

      I have heard that its just gonna be a small update (maybe a variant or returning mon?) to end sunbreak, Amatsu is most likely the finale like fatalis in iceborne.

    Sure Strength hammer may be the worst in the game, but as you said, you actaully fight the monster. Dont get me wrong seeing people go absolutely nuclear with GS and Charge Blade is pretty cool. But my word... its so overtuned and you really begin to feel that in those runs after a while. Strength hammer you actually fight the monster. It really looks a like a testament to a veteran player's skills when i watch these runs, and not just mechanical abuse of the games stats.
    Keep it up Lynn. These runs feel like real runs. Great stuff as always!

    I think you should need Defiance5 to block his roars, not level 3.
    Besides that, it's a perfectly designed and fun hunt.

      Amatsu's roar got buffed in this game. You originally only needed regular earplugs, but you need hg plugs in sunbreak.

    What makes Strength Hammer so bad? Just the lack of proper motion values for the should-be-strong charge moves? I could be wrong, but I felt like Hammer was nerfed into oblivion starting in 4th gen.

      Bad motion values on top of being raw-focused, and pure raw is awful in this game. Strength has piss poor elemental modifiers too which makes elemental skills do nearly nothing for it as well, and there are a lot of element-boosting skills in this game compared to raw.
      I think at this point the only weapons in the game that still work with just raw are Great Sword ans Sacred Sheathe LS because their motion values are extremely high.

      Valstrax is an absolutely awful and slow Wyvern ride. He deals poor damage slowly. The damage I got with Hammer is probably 3 times more than I could get with Valstrax, even if riding gives you a topple on Amatsu.

    Wait the wind funnels are just wind boxes and not hit boxes? I always just shrouded vault them cause I rarely have time to get out but have also never been hit by them.

      I never knew either until I just found myself unable to evade one, and then I saw nothing happened to me so I reacted the same way you just did. Had no idea only touching the sides of the tunnel could damage you.

    How did you sustain through the chip damage of dereliction 3 and bloodlust 1 without bloodrite or anomaly applying bloodblight??

      Im assuming the healing bugs and random pots + never getting hit otherwise its basically GG.

      I'm not sure what you mean, the damage dealt by Dereliction *is* healed by Bloodlust. Also yes I healed some of the chip damage from Intrepid Heart with the Vigorwasps too.

      @@dynamo_lynn Ah I understand, so the red health bar from Dereliction and bloodlust (frenzy) chip damage gets healed once every 60 - 70 seconds by overcomming frenzy.
      During that window, build intrepid heart. If you get hit with intrepid heart, use a vigor wasp/potion, if you dont have intrepid heart, well....... dont die? xD

      @@JoshTheMadLad Bloodlust heals off the red portion of the health bar by overcoming the frenzy virus, that's correct. But yeah I'm kind of a speedrunner so not getting hit to begin with is the goal in these videos. :p

      Rolling always cancels your charge.

      @@auliasa6602 It's impossible to keep a charge when rolling in any Monster Hunter game, the only exceptions being Valor Hammer in MHXX and Courage Hammer in Rise and Sunbreak, so I'm not sure what you're referring to exactly in World.
      What I did in this video is really just rolling and begining a charge and then immediately roll again. What beginning a charge does with hammer is slightly cancel the endlag of your roll, which allows me to chain rolls faster. I did this just to close the distance and get closer to Amatsu fast.
