    Hey Steph, this comment is three years late to the party, but thanks very much for sharing your setup and creating this video!
    Couple of random comments on your video as I was watching through:
    -- Wired wide angle and wireless close-up camera. I think this works fine. But if you're really picky, one issue is latency -- the wireless camera will have more delay than the wired camera, so there will be a problem with audio sync. However, I'm pretty sure it's possible to adjust the delay of the audio with the ATEM; and if you adjust to match the close-up camera, then I think no one will care if the wide is out of sync, especially if the people's mouths are quite far away and small on the screen.
    -- I think, in an ideal world, you should have BOTH cameras attached to wireless, and to the same brand of wireless. This has two effects. Firstly, it lessens the different-latency issue. Secondly, it means you can reposition that wide to be more front-on and less side-on, for a better view.
    -- About monitoring the audio, if you're only going to do it from one point, I'd actually suggest plugging the headphones into the laptop, not the monitor. You're using something like OBS to stream, right? Well, if you plug into the laptop, and you set the audio settings to "monitor and output", then you're hearing the final audio before it goes live, including any level adjustment that OBS itself is applying. But if you plug into your multiview monitor, not only do you miss out on the OBS adjustments, but you're also not hearing any sort of cable or interference issue between ATEM and laptop.
    -- Rodelink -- personally, I don't think it's reliable for livestreams. The reason is that it uses digital transmission; and if there are other things in the same band (like your modem, and your video transmitters, and the DJ's microphone, and whatever else), then the distance at which you can use it is reduced. Plus, you're adding potential problems with battery life, frequency interference, or even physical impediments -- those Rode units really like line of sight. So, a wired cable connection is much better if you can get it.... Failing that, an RF rather than digital transmitter.
    -- Love your tip with using an older phone with a headphone jack to play music. One thing I'd add, though, is to be careful about doing this. RUclips will often clamp down on your stream and stop it or mute it if it's playing copyrighted music too obviously. If, on the other hand, the copyrighted music is background audio (for instance, you're outputting from a camera's mic), then I think it'll usually let it fly...
    -- Nyrius -- that's a great entry-level transmitter. However, I'm not sure it's available anymore! I also wouldn't trust it for events longer than just a ceremony -- it's going to overheat and then cause all sorts of problems.
    -- Charging more for quality. I think this has always been a tough sell! Most people don't value video quality, and also don't see why they should pay for two or even three operators instead of one. But I think if you also throw in the word "reliability", then that becomes a more attractive proposition.

    Really great video. I have a question about your ViewSonic 22" monitor. Mini pro HDMI out outputs in YUV (YPbPr) color space, lots of monitors are RGB only, Dell monitors have a YPbPr options, does this ViewSonic monitor have a YUV (YPbPr) option? Thanks.

    • @StephLeeTech
      @StephLeeTech  3 года назад +1

      Hi GrayAreaPhoto! Only Source 1 of the Atem Mini Pro HDMI port is YUV color space, the rest is RGB. But anyway it doesn't matter because the monitor is connected to the HDMI OUT so it should be fine. However to answer your question, I am not very sure if this ViewSonic monitor has a YUV option but I am quite sure it won't have the dreaded green/pink hue problem that you will face.

    • @StephLeeTech
      @StephLeeTech  3 года назад +1

      Hi Shivuri thank you for watching!
      1. Both PGM and Preview is default from the Atem Mini
      2. It's up to the situation. Sound from mixer = cleaner and clearer, Sound direct from camera mic = more in sync
      3. You can connect it via the HDMI port on your DLSR. Yes I used a powered dummy battery to keep it running for the duration of the livestream - recommended. Batteries don't last that long.

      Hi Melvin! I actually bought one of these myself! And I have been using the table for all my gigs, as sometimes on location the client does not provide a table for that. The table i have to put 2 laptops and my monitor comfortable are about 120cm x 60cm, and when folded into half it is portable at 60x60cm. I personally feel that is the best size in terms of portability vs usability. Any bigger you would find it a hassle to bring it around.

    • @StephLeeTech
      @StephLeeTech  3 года назад +2

      Hi David each event is not just comprising of the setup, but the number of hours and complexity of the event etc. We don't only do the streaming but we do the Producer work as well, meaning we meet up with the client to discuss in detail what they need and then we come out with a cost. It's not a one price for all setup thing. At the end of the day, know your Per Hour rate and then multiply it accordingly and of course add in an extra 10-20% to the final cost due to the complex expertise of livestreaming. Hope that helps in your pricing!
