NICE! I finally got this movie on Blu Ray last year and it's frickin insane! This is the version of Sam Raimi's original darker more violent screenplay that he had envisioned before he made the film.
Since i never been on detox, the closest i can compare it is when you get a really upset stomach, everything hurts back there like burning, you just want it to end, and while you are waiting for things to calm down, you fidget and tighten your fists and move continuously trying to calm down the pain Definitely not a calm experience, and even less one i would go through for hours
This is basically the French extremist version of the original. The original was scary but not this kind of scary and the sequels get more comedic as they go.
In the Evil Dead world there are 3 books, this is one of them, in the movie Evil Dead Rise they use another one and I think that in the TV show another one. You guys should watch the most recent movie or the show. Also fun fact this movie held the record for the most fake blood used for several years.
I'm not sure if I heard yall talk about it in the vid, but the first letter of the characters spells out "demon". *D*avid, *E*ric, *M*ia, *O*livia, *N*atalie
As someone who is in recovery (just celebrated 10 yrs), I thought the depiction of withdrawal was really accurate. I definitely would have gone and walked around in the rain to get some relief. I spent a lot of time in the shower instead.
Definitely going to pressure you into watching the other films and the show. They're all quite good, but the genre can vary quite a bit. This, The Evil Dead, and Evil Dead Rise are all straight horror. Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn and the show, Ash vs Evil Dead are both horror/comedy, but the show takes its comedy inspiration more from Army of Darkness, which is an adventure/comedy with horror elements. I'll also probably flood your comments and/or Patreon DMs with need to know or fun information. For example, this film, despite being considered a remake of the original is actually a sequel to the original in a timeline/universe where the other two films in the original trilogy and the show never take place. You'll see why when you eventually watch it.
😂🤣 Fun, fun, fun! That was delightful! When I was 8 or 9, I slept over at my cousin's place and my Aunt's bf rented this for us! Her boyfriends used to rent movies to keep us company/distracted while they got busy upstairs. 😂🤣 The original Evil Dead and Splash were a couple of the movies I remember from those days.
i'd DIEEEEE for you guys to see Evil Dead (the original) and the sequel! you'll die laughing, especially at the 2nd one its such a good time movie to watch w the boys! gotta learn that Evil Dead lore, its GROOVY!
Evil Dead 2013 is just an amazing overall movie. The cinematography, the story, the horror, the gore. It’s all top notch. The new Evil Dead that came out recently is alright but this is still goes hard.
To this day, this movie holds the record of the most fake-blood used for a movie. The whole ending scene was shot under a real rain of blood, it's not CGI or water they colored red in post-production.
The whole Evil Dead series is a must, the first movie started out as a low budget movie made on weekends by a bunch of mates that turned into the highest grossing horror movie of all time, and made stars of Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi. it helped kickstart the careers of people like the Coen brothers and makeup /sfx guys from movies/ shows like Predator and the Walking Dead. The original trilogy evolved more into the mythology of Ash (Bruce Campbell) being the savior of humanity and his rise from stock boy at S- Mart to demon slayer. The new reboot/ sequels are more serious in tone but still keep the humour intact with callbacks to the original trilogy, even the tv series Ash vs The Evil Dead is great as it ties everthing together. you really need to watch them.
saw this when i was freshly 17 and they allowed me and my friend in, we were the only people in the cinema and it was AMAZING to see on the big screen. loved evil dead rise from last year as well!!
What you guys saw was the theatrical version, in the unrated version they showed demon Mia singing"we're gonna get you" to Natalie, demon Natalie actually talks, Olivia's body burnt and Natalie's body chopped, demon Eric screams "join us" to Eric, Eric possessed, and an extended ending when a truck driver found Mia fainted on the road.
I definitely hope to find you watching the original Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness! Loved the reaction guys!! I think it’s given to ask which friends would put you in this predicament
This is the proper way to approach a reboot.. Don't think it was a coke addiction but more likely heroin.. Corey--"Olivia locked in a loading screen.." Lol The 80s films are more or less considered horror/comedy, while this one has a more serious/dark/disturbing feel, whilst it still embodies a certain type of in your face absurdity loyal to the originals.. Something HAS to be said about the amazing practical effects.. Its rumored that Eric was/is in love with David.. The car in the scene where we first meet Mia belongs to Bruce Campbell and it appears in many of his films.. Finally, have u guys done The Cabin in the Woods?? It's a must.. XO
OMG, never click so fast!!!! "This is not a good start" lol you has no idea🤣 Loves all your expression throughout the movie. The most insane and goriest movie I've ever seen! You can check out Evil dead rise, the newest addition to the franchise, but personally I think this one is a masterpiece in every way, visual effect, sound effect, acting etc, so it's difficult to reach it's level. You might assume that it just leaves someone curled up in a ball (which happens later), but in the beginning, there's a lot of racing heartbeats, sweating, muscle spasms and cramps, and other jittery type stuff...so it sometimes helps to move. It's usually impossible to sleep, so it's difficult to escape. Ironically, escape was the whole reason I became addicted lol
I gotta give it up for Blake - he really handled this movie like a champ for real 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Demonic possession-type movies are the scariest horror movies for me personally. I hope you guys watch Evil Dead Rise eventually😊 Let’s get the Pack to 30k now because it’s well deserved 🎉🎉❤
One of my favorite movies of all time! Ya’ll gotta watch the OGs and 2023 now too! And if you liked the direction and final girl here, Fede Alverez directs ‘Don’t Breathe’ also starring Jane Levy!
I really think Ash vs Evil Dead could be interesting on this channel, it is way more comedic but still over-the-rop. You can either continue with Rise, since there is no need to know the continuity, and then watch the three first movies ( unless Corey doesn't want to watch the first two again ofc ) since the series continues with it. Could be a great idea when The Boys Season 4 is finished since it's really WILD haha Here are my recommendations, feel free to keep them in mind in case it might interest you and can be useful when out of ideas ! They really said - what's the best place to take your friend with withdrawals - random cabin in the woods. At least they could have rented something more respectable.
A few other good horror remakes to check out: Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), Friday the 13th (2009), Straw Dogs (2011), The Hills Have Eyes (2006) and The Crazies (2010).
Immediately after this popped up on my home feed my first thought was “LETS GOOOO🔥🔥🔥” Blake I believe in you. You’ve come so far on this horror journey.
In order to avoid removing the favorite you just gave me on my other comment, I just want to also mention that there are several easter eggs to the original movie in this. A lot of them being audio related, as they are literally lifted from the original film and placed into this. And then some of the easter eggs are small visual cues. I know a few of them, but I can't see I've actually SEEN them all.
I remember watching this movie with my mom and sister in the cinema and that end scene, we literally can't move on by how scary and bloody it was! This was the most gruesome, same with Evil Dead Rise which I also did watch in the cinema. I recommend that also for you guys to react on it.
Honestly I have to appreciate that Eric does at least kinda redeem himself by the end. Like he messed up and was the worst but dude does try SO HARD to help his friends by the end and I genuinely felt SO bad for him by the end like he got punished for it so hard. Like after EVERYTHING when he still came for David in the basement and took that huge box cutter for him with that "I missed you man..." I have to forgive just a little bit. I really like Mia and David as protagonists too. The concept of killing someone and then reviving them to deposess them is also really cool. But by god that tree scene WHY is that needed? I hate it so much. There are so many parts of this one I can't watch but that's the one that I look at and go "Why did we have to?" Though it was hilarious watching the guys' faces as they realized what was happening, especially Blake's omg that poor boy.
I remember seeing this movie in theaters, being the only one in there. I had such a wonderful time seeing this movie with a big smile on my face and enjoying this film. I was so obsessed with this movie in High School when it was coming out and I'm glad that it didn't disappoint me :)
EvilDead 2013 is “officially speaking” a remake. Unofficially, it was conceived as a direct sequel to the original “The Evil Dead” (1981) & ignoring the events of “Evil Dead 2” & “Army of Darkness”
The best part of the possession to me is that their friends (Mia’s) think that she’s acting like that because of the abstinence syndrome so they never notice at the beginning that she’s being possessed.
What a way to follow up Saw X. I haven’t seen this film in awhile, but watching all of you react to it was great. Jane Levy, the actress who plays Mia, is such a wonderful versatile actress who can do comedy, sing, dance and she was great in the thriller “Don’t Breathe”. If you have never seen it, you should check it out 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😎
Have you guys seen Evil Dead Rise from 2023? There's supposed to be more films to made after it. I know they just released news of another 2 in the works.

"Oh i dont rememebr there being a dog in this." 20 minutes later... "oh, that's why"
"I don't know if I'm mentally prepared to watch this right now." Don't you say that for like every horror movie? lol
I remember watching this movie with my mom and sister in the cinema and that end scene, we literally can't move on by how scary and bloody it was! This was the most gruesome, same with Evil Dead Rise which I also did watch in the cinema. I recommend that also for you guys to react on it.
The barbed wire joke will never get old in my eyes.
Wow can't wait for the reaction to the second movie 😂
0 survival instincts. Anyone else would’ve packed up and left after seeing what was in the basement… or better yet, not had been there at all. Lol
Yeah, I want to see you guys react to the OG Evil Dead Trilogy, especially ED 2
I remember seeing this movie in theaters, being the only one in there. I had such a wonderful time seeing this movie with a big smile on my face and enjoying this film. I was so obsessed with this movie in High School when it was coming out and I'm glad that it didn't disappoint me :)
EvilDead 2013 is “officially speaking” a remake. Unofficially, it was conceived as a direct sequel to the original “The Evil Dead” (1981) & ignoring the events of “Evil Dead 2” & “Army of Darkness”
I think I've watched every RUclips reaction of this movie on yt 😅😅 I love it that much
love this reaction sm guys! 🙌 y’all seem to be so fun to be with when watching a movie 😂♥️
You guys need to do Evil Dead 2023. That one was the most f**ked up movie I've ever seen.
The best part of the possession to me is that their friends (Mia’s) think that she’s acting like that because of the abstinence syndrome so they never notice at the beginning that she’s being possessed.
Great video, guys. I'm pumped to see how Fede Alvarez handles Alien: Romulus!
I’m not even mad at Blake this time 😂 because I had my eyes clothed through like 80% of the movie when I first watched it 🫣
What a way to follow up Saw X. I haven’t seen this film in awhile, but watching all of you react to it was great. Jane Levy, the actress who plays Mia, is such a wonderful versatile actress who can do comedy, sing, dance and she was great in the thriller “Don’t Breathe”. If you have never seen it, you should check it out 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😎
I saw this movie on Primary education. I didn't understand it at all or that it was something like a remake/continuation. Really scary haha
This is a reboot.
Exactl, that. If little ol' me had seen Ash and then this movie, I would have sweared!
@@Wash869no its not.
The next one should be "Evil Dead Rise", I think it's follow up of the previous one "Evil Dead".
..........this was a great movie in the series of Evil Dead movies! Seen it well over 100 times. Love these movies!
oh you should DEFINITELY watch when evil lurks lmao PLEAAAAASE
Fun Fact: there was a written ending where Ash is in a truck to pick up Mia and he witnesses her turn and prepares to fight saying "Groovy"
Had to put absolutely everything on hold to watch my favorite guys what my favorite movie!! 🎉❤
This is one of the best horror films to come out in the last 12 years and even the newest movie that came out last year also : Evil Dead Rise so good
Have you guys seen Evil Dead Rise from 2023? There's supposed to be more films to made after it. I know they just released news of another 2 in the works.
I think the candle on the headewas actually something in the background. A burning mountain or something.
