@RyanUrlacher If you buy it for me, I'll have it installed. The prices are unreasonable. I'm sure it's a good product, but let's be for real...we all have other expenses, unfortunately.
Thanks for watching. I have reviewed many suspensions on this channel, all varying in price. I just review motorcycle parts and acc and you decide what's right for you and within your personal budget. Ride safe.
I totally agree. I’ve tried stock and Legends previously and well, felt like I’d got something better but still not good enough. I’ve ridden many thousands of miles with Wilbers since then and I’d say Wilbers suspension is probably the first modification anyone should do. Before pipes, seat and engine, get your bike to ride and handle right.
I've had a Wilbers setup on the rear of my 1997 K1100LT for about 15 years. It transformed the bike. So planted in sweepers now. And the quality of craftsmanship was better than Ohlins. The adjusters felt precision and Ohlins worked, but didn't feel as well made. That said, the Ohlins shocks are of course, great, but I'm glad I went with the Wilbers. The Nivomat sounds really interesting as I often do day rides and such and going on a big trip with full luggage is something the Nivomat handles automatically. The one concern I have with the kit is the front. It's just oil and a progressive spring. I'm not sure what capabilities are missing from that compared to a cartridge compared to the spring and oil. My '07 Road King has the original suspension (rear air shocks) and I'm sure it would be a massive improvement no matter what I go with, but it seems odd they went with a simple front suspension given the very advanced rear suspension of the Nivomat.
Going to have to say that although you recommend doing the Wilbers suspension 1st, I strongly recommend waiting until you finish doing your sound system 1st because of the added weight. Example, I just added new Voodoo Lids with Cicada's CHX 8.2 speakers, and that added 18 lbs to each saddlebag. Now I am contemplating on adding 2 Cicada 10" subs at 20 lbs a piece... All of that extra added weight neeeds to be accounted for when you purchasing the Wilbers.... Now, I am 100% sold on these and they will be my next suspension. So thank you for that!
Your new suspension may very well be an outstanding upgrade. The fact that you felt compelled to replace suspension parts on a new bike that goes out the door at North of 30K speaks volumes about the HD motor company. Ride safe brother.
It's many makes of bikes, not just Harley. Indian guys change their suspension too. BMW riders and on and on and on. Stock suspension is stock and only so good. Gusy buy brand new enduro bikes and put new suspension and valving on those. Just part of the game. Definitely not specific to Harley.
@@RyanUrlacher Not specific to Harley, that is correct. Harley just makes classical art, of ripping off their customers. You can put me on that list, to the tune of 6 new Harleys, over the last 35 years. They will rip me off no more. Enjoy your new suspension and ride safe!
Thanks for sharing the experience and info about Wilbur's. I watched a video of Traveling Tall. He paid the German manufacturer mechanic to fly over and install the suspension on his bike. It was amazing and hearing you talk about it makes me lean towards them whenever I do my suspension upgrade. Keep.up the good job!
When I was researching rear shocks for my '19, I had heard of a quality brand German made shock but I couldn't remember the name or find it. Well, it was Wilbers. But I figured it out after I decided on Legends (with Suspension Technologies in the forks). I'm a lighter weight rider so the stock suspension was a deal breaker. My Legends have been great and the lifetime warranty sold me. I would have no hesitation going with Wilbers after your review if I upgrade again.
@jerrybrown66 I did Suspension technology on my Ultra and li e them . Wilbur's was 4k for the front and rear shocks. I spent 1500 for a life time warranty with Suspension
Nota bene: I am doing long (!) haul touring.... I mean long ! Into the Arctic ... and gravel roads in Scandinavia.... with big luggage, tent, camping, gear etc...
Hey Ryan, great video. I currently have legend front and rear on my '17 Street Glide. Its stable in corners but harsh ride. Because I ride 50/50 solo/two up, I'm considering Ohlins cartridges up front and Wilbers in the rear (mostly because of adjustability in the front, none needed in rear) . I live in a mountainous region (near the dragon) and need excellent cornering characteristics, but also want a more compliant ride than I currently have. Can you shed some light on this idea for me please. Much appreciated.
Great video Ryan. Well explained riding , cornering and railroad track bumps with the Wilbur’s suspension. For me as an average rider on 2015 street glide, the Wilbur’s price tag is a concern even though with your video I’m sure I would the suspension.
Thanks for watching. Yeah, like I say, with suspension, the more you spend the better it gets. Wilbers is near the same price as the Ohlins I had in my 14. I get it. Suspension is expensive, but the best upgrade a rider can make. IMO
@@RyanUrlacher thx for replying ryan, much appreciated. I trust your opinion 100% but my business is very slow right now and I'm being forced to wait awhile, unfortunately. Pls keep up the great videos.
Have a SGS with Legends front/rear suspension. Rode East Tenn area many, many times and better suspension makes a heck of a difference. Just rented a stock Pan America for a week and rode the same roads. I understand some can't physically ride the Pan America but if you can; it is the motorcycle to ride those roads. It was an absolutely fantastic motorcycle on those roads! If I'm traveling in the city or long distances like across the country, I want to be on the SGS but everything else, the Pan America is my choice. Hope they come out with a 900cc version one day.
When I bought my 16 Street Glide Special I upgraded the intake the head pipe the slip-ons and if I had to do it all over again I would absolutely do suspension first because now all I want to do is put suspension on it because I don't want to ride it that much due to shity suspension
Trouble with the Wiburs on a roadglide special is your adding another inch over stock and with short legs thats a pain. i went full adjustable YSS and have fine tuned it with spring rates and pre load to cover most of situation.

Apologies if this is a repeat question... Does the wilbers change the suspension height of a road glide. I'm vertically challenged at 5'7" and I flat foot the bike. Wondered if this upgrade would raise the seat height or would it stay the same. Thanks... Great videos... All of them I think you said you ship to Canada. Please confirm!
Yes it will, the Wilbers rears are 13in, but they sag a little more with the rider on the bike. If you don't have a chance to test sit a Wilbers bike, go and sit on a Road Glide ST. If you are happy on the ST, you can install the Wilbers on yours.
Great review, thanks for sharing. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the benefits for a pillion. The good lady wife wants to eliminate the jarring to her spine . Something I cant eliminate with the stock suspension on our Fat Boy. Any thoughts?

Is it worth it for someone who does 90% solo ? The stock suspension on my 16 road glide special isn't great. Love the bike but the stock suspension for what you pay is 🗑
Hey Ryan just wondering I see u guys sell progressive 944 in your store i just got a street glide 24 like yours …love that color and I need to lower the bike 1 or 2 inch to feel comfortable ridding it would progressive fit the 2024 ,thanks

What’s cool about higher end bikes Aprilia (factory models)even more so Ducati- You get premium parts (ohlins). You pay through the nose for Harley (up to 50K) & it’s still garbage.
Hi, have you used your bike on trips with a passenger and luggage? I've a 2013 Street glide and use it with a passenger and tor pak and am thinking of putting wilbers on it. Harley stock suspension is awful,
That would be the perfect environment for a Wilbers Nivomat suspension. Do the base setup for a single rider and the Nivomat will take care of every extra pound-without any further adjusting.
German engineering is just way better then american engineering, it's that simple. Had a bmw r18b last year, not a thing wrong with it, got a new 24 roadglide and all kinds of problems with it . There is a difference lol

As Ryan said, it's always better than stock. For the CVO ST you would need to go for the (CVO) cartridge and Nivomat or reservoir rear shocks. Nivomat will provide maximum comfort (without reservoirs), Wilbers reservoir rears will provide look (with sporty stiffness)
