So my sportsman is different from the ones you speak of. I have a April 29, 2005 sportsman AWD 500 ho carbureted model. Sensor on the side has two wires, but like I said, it's not a efi model. But when I unplug it, fan stays on. When I plug it back in, fan do t turn on and the speedo flashes and says it's hot, even when it hasn't been running. Then I can't find anything on a heat or fan sensor for this machine. So now I'm afraid to ride it, can't afford to replace the motor. Any ideas??
I just got a tao tao 4 wheeler. The temp light stays on and beeps, would the temp sensor be my issue? Also, since that light stays on, could that be the issue as to why my 4 wheeler won't start?? It cranks and wants to start (already changed spark plug) but just won't turn over
My polaris sportsman 330 2015 won't run the liquid cooling system occasionally for some reason, overheated a couple of times in longer drives.. air fan works properly. any insight?
Replaced both of these parts, but the fan still won't activate. I jumped the fan direct to a power source and it will run so it's not the fan motor. I can't locate a fuse panel. LOST
I have a 92 Polaris 350L 4 X 4. The rad temperature switch is bad and no longer available. Anybody know of a sub or any technical specs about the switch?
Hi there I have a a 2000 sportsman 500 I've replaced the fan and the sensor that goes to the radiator but the fan will not work If you run power to the fan it will turn on so that's not the issue it's just not kicking on when the wheeler is in use my temp light will come on but no fan any tips?
my hot temp warning is on even when the engine is cold (not been started) and the fan is running constant, I have to disconnect the battery to get the fan to shut off. Mine is a 2004 Sportsman 500 HO. Will the hot temp sensor on the block cause the fan to come on as well as the hot temp warning. the other sensor in the rad I can't locate.
@@benhoopengardner9725 not yet. Mine doesn't have a sensor in the rad. It's a 50th anniversaries addition and I guess Polaris did some different thing on that year. My block sensor is a 2 wire plug and I believe it controls the heat warning light and the cooling fan. Still trying to figure out how to test the sensor before I change it out
@@michaelwarren2721 so you had the same problem, changed the cooling sensor and its still doing the same thing? I know its not running hot as per the warring in my case as I ran it all winter plowing snow with no issues. At first I was unplugging the fan after every use so it wouldn't stay running and kill the battery but there is something drawing power even if the fan is unplugged. If I don't disconnect the battery will be dead the next day.
@@ElPatronGamefarm do you mean with the ignition key turned off? Or the red handlebar switch turned off and the key on? If the key is turned off and the fan runs, you have a faulty ECM.
So I just picked up a 2001 polaris sportsman 500 ho and was doing some checks before my weekend ride I ran it yesterday long enough to unload it and today there is still a lot of pressure in the system and a bunch came shooting out of the radiator cap? Any ideas???
I had a similar problem, I went to orieylis auto store and rented a radiator pressure tester and cap tester. I had a bad cap cause fluid to shoot into the overflow, and the piece that the cap fit on was also bad, I think both parts cost me $30. Good luck
Thanks. Helpful and clearly explained
Great explanation I’ll subscribe ! Thanks
Great explanation. Thank you

Got a scrambler 500 Ho carbureted has the two wire thermostat sensor
What temperature produces the temp sensor to be activated?
Are those bead locks attached to the OE wheels? If so do you sell them?
Hi there I have a Polaris 500 2005 but the fan don’t turn off any advice
Did you ever figure it out? I’m having the same problem
Where can i find some of those wheel covers?

Hey where radiator sensor where does it plug in I can't seem to fine where they connect
I can’t figure out where all my coolant going. Can’t find any wet spots where it’s all going. keep filling it up and it keeps emptying. What the hell
would this effect "overheat" LED coming on? Fan runs but
overheat warning light comes on every time I turn on the polaris. thanks
Hello did you fixed what was the problem I got the same problem
granadosreyes did either of you fix it? Same here 🤦🏻♀️

Do you know how many oms the sensor should read when circuit is closed
Where did you get rings for wheels?

Did you happen to check the 20a circuit breaker for the fan? It will be up in the neck on your bike under the high beam pod.
@@skeley1 no I havent I'm not much of a mechanic but I shall surely look into that
my 2004 has a two wire hot sensor. I'm getting a flashing hot and the fan(brand new) won't turn off. Both sensors junk?
2004.5 has two wires from the hot sensor at the head. It appears that there is no sensor on the radiator.
Great Job Thanks
