It is truly shocking how many adults have a story of some sort of abuse. 90% of my female friends have all had some sort of 'interaction' with an 'Uncle Jim'. Somehow we have all normalised it. The abuse that happens to children is off the scale, and people just don't want to talk about it... This head in the sand attitude has to change. Children already think it is their fault, how are we supposed to tell anyone when we believe we will get into trouble if the fault was ours. Why can't people remember what it was like being a child and be more understanding to people who eventually do speak up about it. Thank you Jeremy for trying so hard and not giving up.

I had a guy try to drag me into the toilets at a bowling alley when I was eight. I have no doubt now that his intention was to sexually assault me or worse, but fortunately I managed to run away. There is literally no point in reporting it. This was four decades ago, I have no idea who he was and only the vaguest of memories about what he looked like, and the bowling place is long gone. For the sake of balance, when I was twelve, there was a scout leader who was obviously in love with me. He was nothing but kind to me and never crossed the line, legally or morally.

That is so beautifully done and unfortunately exactly how it is when you go for help. You get the courage to finally tell and they mock you and ask why it took so long but as a child it's not something we can ever go and tell someone they'll see us different and broken and we'll never get that opinion of who we are back in their eyes. In my case the abuser told me I wasn't my parents child so if I ever tried to tell they'd send me to a new place and both of my parents would always joke about selling us to Arabs so it was easy to imagine, when it's also one of their Arab friends who abused me as well. Didn't like the abuse I was going thru but the thought of if being even worse was too much. It has taken me until 46 to get my voice and finally be able to speak from a place of peace even when my heart breaks to remember for that little girl lost in unimaginable ways and all of the torment and terrors that come with that. Constant nightmares never feeling good enough not wanting to be close to people but also your wanting that love you never got it's a constant battle and it is not something that anyone who has not been through it could ever understand. It is a disgrace how we treat victims of these crimes, survivors that are trying to take back their life the only way they know how. If I hadn't found Jesus I couldn't even speak like this. I'd still be on the drugs, abusing myself to keep the pain deep down. I would beat myself in the mirror telling myself to die as I didn't want to be me another day.. I spent my life alone out of fear, and when people got to close I would move so I didn't hurt them as I knew I was just broken and all a broken person does is bring pain so I had to be the one who fixed it so I am able to proudly be me in a kind humble way with a heart open to all who have endured. You are a hero for sharing and for this video and spreading the truth about how we feel. I felt it in my soul so I feel your pain and I pray you've asked Jesus to take it from you so you can be free of the pain to fight the battle against the problem alongside all of us others who are waking up to the truth. The world needs to change and it only happens when people say no more. Child sexual abuse can not be tolerated anymore. I will not let my children and the children they have go into this cycle of hurt and pain again. I thank you so much.. God bless
