Really powerful, the attitude of the interviewer/lawyer is all too common and it is so sad. I hope this video helps people to understand the difficult dynamics in abuse and in disclosure. Very well made.
I care about you Jeremy. I am so sorry you had to go through this as such a little boy! I know why you could not speak then. It was wrong as f and you were completely innocent. Kudos on such an dynamic, tense, unnerving depiction...You got me in the gut. EXCELLENT actors!!!! I believe you. It happened to me too. A very long time ago.

I dont know what to say. I am sobbing right now. I too was abused, however i came forward after 6 years. Luckily I learned, at school, "good touch, bad touch" and quickly informed my mother what had been happening with my uncle. That woman, queen that she is, called the police immediately and had me in therapy within a week. I diidnt speak for 6 months because of the years of grooming.
I remained in therapy, that time, for 4 years and my uncle went to prison for 17 years. Come to find out, i wasnt his only victim.
My monster went to prison and was beaten on a weekly basis for his crimes. I am very sorry that this didnt happen for u. My heart goes out to u and i am SO PROUND of the man u have become! Keep speaking.
People like the investigator is why we don't tell. They shame you and make you feel like it's your fault.
So true. The people who are supposed to help make it more difficult. Got to be a better way surely
I very rarely like a video.... I very much do not like the video.... But tells hard truths that we need to be made commen knowledge to stop the stigma and shame.... Very much thumbs up for ur blatant honesty you will help many who see this
This is very well done. I feel your terrible frustration. I know it. The perpetrator is just so confident. The interviewer doesn't know anything. Sometimes people remember it even later. The little boy actor does a great job. We think when we remember, that we can stuff it. That if we can just get past it, just totally forget it..
i think the most heartbreaking part of when so many people tell you the same thing. I had a cop tell me that i might as well drop the case bc it’s just “he said, she said” and i felt so invisible for so long. i have multiple abusers and i have had to live in silence for so long. When people share their stories and are so open it shatters me bc this is the only thing I’d rather be alone in but when others do it, it helps me. so I hope I do the same in any way.
Im so sorry this has happened to you. I dont understand why and dont think i ever will. Something needs to change as its not ok. I wish you all the best on your healing journey.

Thank you for this. I told my parents about my abuse a few years after it happened and they didn't believe me, now 30 years later, I decided that I'm not hiding anymore. My father, who oddly works for Child Protection Services told me, "You should have said something then." He tried to shame me for not saying anything when I was 6. This video really helps me and gave me some closure. Thank you!
I am praying for you and I pray that you can someday accept your pain and heartbreak! I still don't talk about what happened to me at age 17... Im 68 now soon to be 69.. You are still you and don't let anyone make you feel bad about your self or to feel that it is your fault! Stand your ground and stay strong ❤
This hits hard!! Ive had someone close disclose they were abused over 40 years ago they'd never told anyone. Its absolutely shocking that adults can do this to an innocent child. I am so sorry this happened and that was your experience later. This should never be a thing. Keep doing your great work, so powerful.

I was abused in a public bus...I was only 13 ..At that point I only realised that something is fishy,as I was not liking it and I was quite uncomfortable...The whole way I kept on thinking simultanusly that whatever is going on is not good...And you know what I realised it when I came in relationship..then I realised I was abused.almost after 15 years.That still haunts me.
Moral of the story don’t leave your kids with anyone

I have picture memories that disrupt my thinking and cause me grief and upset I don't know how to stop them. Its similar to what was shown in the video. Any suggestions as to what I can do to get my brain to stop doing this because I'm very tired from it.
Really nicely done! Professional. Someone has film school in their history. And I hope this isn't a true story -- a counselor or therapist who reacts that way should NOT be a counselor or therapist. (I watched it twice, too, back-to-back.)

@@42robwalker The film school part was obvious, especially for others with that in their history. The counselor/therapist part is horrifying 😳, yet it's also valuable information for my current project. It's very different than yours but there are strong commonalities. I may decide to broaden my scope and try to make contact over the next month or two. Thank you for replying!
@@BeingLifted it was a lawyer not a therapist by the way….”usually take difficult cases” , that’s how he was treated, almost dismissed. It’s not my film or project, it’s my sons. Feel free to get in touch if we can be of help in any way.
@@42robwalker Interesting. Thanks, I may take you up on that! Incidentally, I'm planning a book. It was for narcissistic/psychopathic trauma survivors dealing with symptoms of PTSD. I've since come to realize that I do need to broaden my scope to include more than domestic abuse and crime victims. I guess I can use input from nearly any group dealing with PTSD, which may well apply in your son's case. That's not the focus of the book but I don't want to give my angle away in such a public forum. I'll need a contract to do some anonymous case studies, then write up the questions and look for those people that have an interest in participating. And, of course, I have to find them! That's where your son and Jeremy might come in.

Wow this video made me cry I was abused since the age of 3 by my dad(monster) I still have flashbacks and nightmares and I’m 48 it’s horrible 😢 I have a therapist

Took about 40 yrs to tell the story did I forget? Nope actually on the middle of a lawsuit at this time you may forget each specific incident but you remember over all
