This is so timely, Rachel! I’ve reached a plateau with TAM and started to get frustrated. Because the recommended workout regimen is too rigorous and the content is so abundant under TAM, I also found myself getting stressed out and overwhelmed with TAM so I backed off entirely. I’m now starting to ease into workouts again and I’m starting a new program similar to TA but I find that I’m enjoying more. I’ll sprinkle in TA to see how it compares. Honestly, I think 30 minutes of TA a day is enough. Some of the moves can be too hard on the body, especially for anyone with adrenal fatigue.

I read several months ago about a study that people got far better results from 6 workouts a week of 30 minutes, than trying to do workouts of an hour or hour and a half.
The reason being that longer workouts can spike hunger and cortisol. The other being that with the longer workouts we say to ourselves, I’m going to workout 5 days this week. But, with life being as it is, our other obligations make those 60-90 minute chucks of time very hard to fit in. So, it actually makes your workouts less frequent.
Your body also needs recovery from these long workouts-so, your plan of 5 of them are flawed to begin with.
I spent the early part of this year going to my doctor and getting blood tests to find out why I was so tired. So bloated. So blah.
I blamed it on my age. Im post menopause.
I found out on my own that I was pushing way too hard.
At working out. At making money. At everything.
Once I started to go with the flow of life and stop pushing so hard I started feeling better.
It’s only been about a month now.
But, I see a huge difference in my energy level and how I look and feel.
My husband noticed enough that he knocked on the door of my workout room the other day to remind me that I’d done my 30 minutes, and there will be tomorrow, because he sees how much better I feel.
I’m doing more than Tracy Anderson, and sometimes it’s a 30 minute jog, or a bike ride. But, there’s definitely something to be said about less done more frequently than killing yourself and pushing, pushing, pushing.
I love your videos because you aren’t trying to sell one particular workout regimen or fitness style and you’re open to tweaking things.
Just to making life better and without making life harder.
    Love, Ronnie💝

You are a big driver to why I have been able to continue this channel. I am so grateful. Thank you for yet another beautiful comment. I am also so grateful that we are making the same discovery! Thank for sharing this Rachel; at 51, I’m slowly learning to ease off and I also feel much better than before. It’s so important to listen to your body and mind but years of conditioning are often tricky to shake off. Keep up the great work, your videos offer such helpful tips and ideas , thank you!

Love hearing about your journey. Yes I relate in getting WAY to rigid. Realized I was feeling scared to do any other movement than TA because it would undo or 'ruin the design'. Or that if I wasn't doing it all the time I wasn't doing it 'right'. It has been nice to try some other movement that is no impact/low impact and really about feeling into my form and imbalances (which is what I love about TA) but giving me cues to really connect with small little corrections and am shocked by how I can feel the movement and alignment improve so quickly and be aware of where some areas of my body are overworking. It makes me excited for when I return to TA and do Meta and Continuity and also really trust my body if it wants to do different kinds of movement--which is really the whole point for me connecting to my body and listening to what feels good. Thanks for your discussions and sharing your thoughts!

This video is so timely for me!! I have adrenal fatigue and have always pushed working out too hard - which has probably caused in a major way my adrenal fatigue. I just got MyMode and have to accept that I can't do more than the beginner level (Genesis). I used to push myself, probably too hard, with IMC. Hard to accept, but my body feels so much better when I don't push it to oblivion. I can't wait to see how I feel going forward limiting my workouts to what I can comfortably handle. Maybe less is more!

Great video! Thanks for sharing! My best results were with meta . I have introduced an extra rest day and it has made me feel so much better and have more food control (now do imc x5). Sometimes it doesnt feel enough when all you see online is people doing my nose x4, amc x3, dance cardio, walking etc 1-2.5 hours a day. So great to see another perspective :)

Thanks so much for sharing Rachel! Can so relate! Gone months without doing dance cardio and I feel so content and confident in my body! So true about letting go. Not letting yourself go but rather letting go of things that add pressure and cause you to become fixated on things that are not always healthy! Sometimes you don’t always have to push so hard or take the difficult way! Listening to your body and giving it want it needs is powerful! Have an awesome week! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on continuity so far😆

Nice video Rachel! I agree with letting it flow more with fitness & nutrition rather than over complicated. Advanced became too intense for me, and I went to Intermediate but an hour is just too much. Being over 50 with hormonal issues, I stopped seeing any results. I didn't have time for the dance cardio anymore. But I also do 20 mins of yoga and walk every day. I became addicted to the TA standing workouts which are 30 mins and I love standing workouts and if I got FOMO I would do the MultiTask workouts sprinkled in between. I have all my Continuity and Meta CDs...maybe I'll go back to those for nostalgia and a flavor twist...!

    • @RundownwithRachel
      @RundownwithRachel  Год назад

It’s all about the flavor twist 😂. I miss those standing workouts! It’s probably good that you let off of Advanced/Intermediate, I have a TAM friend that was struggling with hormones and she took a pause of Intermediate and doing that helped her get back to balance.
