I cringe when I think of my wife being able to hear me when I record my videos. I feel like this has to be an irrational fear that I have because I can't even explain why I'm afraid of it
I tried this exercise once and what I did to make myself more comfortable I printed a face on a piece of paper punctured an eye for the camera lense and taped it to the back of my phone. It worked for me helped me feel like I was talking to a real person. I leave this tip here in case someone wanna give it a try.
I don't think people realize how different talking to a camera is from talking to a person. What a transformation though from day 1 to day 30. You just reminded everyone it's possible!
Just use a teleprompter feeding you what the camera is recording in real time. This way it's like talking to a mirror. Everyone can talk confidently to themselves 🤣
An important realization I have discovered is a relationship between confidence with talking to cameras and communication in real conversations. As i have improved my skills with the camera, i have gained confidence and strength in face to face conversations. Something to consider as you practice...
@@Michael-NZ you are not shy, you are insecure and your insecurity is a result of you feeling unworthy. gotta work at the root cause and not fiddle with effects.
I am back by completing 30 days challenge and trust me it really helps me to stand out. I will continue making it for another month. Thanks for motivating me
I absolutely love how you call it “Camera” not “the camera”… it’s subtle, but makes it seem less intimidating, a little more personal, but also more of a skill that can be developed naturally “talking to camera”
This is basically what I did as a side-effect of making videos. My speech went from slow, stuttering, weak and slurred to something more clear, tonal and smooth (still a little quiet though 😬). My body language and facial expressions have also improved dramatically. I'm not quite there yet, but the difference speaks volumes. Cool to see it working for others!
This is exactly why I created my channel! I have hearing loss and I started to lose my confidence in my speaking ability. I’m watching this twice and taking notes. Thank you. ❤
When I saw this pop up, I initially wasn’t going to watch it as I thought it was clickbait, but then I realized it’s a Thomas Alex Norman video! Your videos are always excellent and I appreciate how engaging they are. Easy to watch from start to finish!
I think one thing to remember, is also 'cater to your audience'. Being confident is great - but having a smidge of awkwardness can be very charming in its own way, and help people connect to you. Being too 'perfect' makes you less relatable, and in some cases, can make you appear a bit arrogant/self absorbed. But filming yourself is definitely a great exercise for improving your mannerisms, and seeing how you come across to other people.
Loved loved loved day 14!! I personally need to get over the fact that I'm near 60yo and I can SEE all my aging faults and it really doesn't matter and I know it..but it is still highlighted in my head. I also tend to be different on camera than I am in real life. Thank you for this awesome video! This comes from a woman who did a lot of community theater and sang on stage and in a barbershop group.. gah.. why does the camera change us so much.
On the bright side, that means you can reinvent yourself when you’re on camera! You can play at being a different version of yourself, like how you do in theater!

It's almost easier than talking with a person. I can just rattle off my thoughts and then edit it down for any times I need to pause or any times I ramble.

This guy is SO GREAT! I want to be his friend and buy WHATEVER he is selling!
Awesome video and awesome progress! “A river of gold coins… I’m just a guy in a racing jacket!” Made me laugh along with you so much.
That's a sure thing! Thanks! Just add, that even you have a best mike, curtains help you to reduce echo!
Don't know why I clicked but I stayed because Matt was so cool and fun to watch :)
This is very life changing guys. i tried it myself. Anyone can change. Just trust the process and dont be shy
This is a great video. Such a good hook I want to try it now. This is great Thomas
Great video. Nice way to demonstrate your program. I'm convinced it works just by watching the progess.
The best❤️ needed it the most
Thanks. I will try this challenge.
Heck this was good - Count me in! Right behind you!
I'm autistic, so making eye contact with a person is incredibly difficult for me. I have that same barrier with a camera, but I'm somehow still able to talk normally with it. It's almost easier than talking with a person. I can just rattle off my thoughts and then edit it down for any times I need to pause or any times I ramble.
Where the F##K have you been?
This is EXACTLY the type of content I have needed! (Subbed)
Dope. go sub to @portalcreative - that's where all the new talking to camera content its!
It's crazy that I was trying to practise filming myself just a couple of hours ago today and was checking your chanel to see if there is any new videos and here we are 😧
Good job you both, it was very helpful as always! And nice to see you back in London Thomas! Hopefuly I can get a collab with you when I am successful enough 😄
One of the best and use-full videos I’ve seen in a long time. Very good. I’m subbing 👌🏼
That intro was so smooth. [taking notes furiously]
This is a great idea! I am gonna challenge myself as well to speak in front of camera for 30 days! Wish me luck!
Your course sounds great! I'm on camera all the time and I picked up some great tips to improve.
Great film. Really interesting and great to see! Thank you
This was really cool to watch and also really inspiring! Very easy to watch, thank you!
Wow it’s wild that this doesn’t have more reviews. Thank you! I really need to practice
This is just the video I needed to see, after putting off video creation for months!!
Congrats Matt! You are funny and very pleasant. Loved your progress, great job!
This is exactly what I've been looking for! You're the goat.
So good to see...what a transformation ❤️👏🏽
Awesome sign me up! I would love to improve my ability to be listenable hah. Great program!
I love the quote "what do I know, I'm just a guy on the internet in a racing jacket"
Thank you for this video. I t jst popped up and I'm talking to camera now so I nee to learn how to efficiently.
This guy is awesome, he did a great job and this was a great video... it also sells his course, which is smart!
What an improvement! Nicely done!
What a great video - really enjoyed watching the progression.
This was actually amazing to see the progress day by day. I love this!
