    Lyrics:
I feel it now, a new restraint… a fool is only he who fools again
I needed all the pain you saved to wash across my face like Time began
Everybody lies when they say ‘forever’, no one else will understand
Pull the stitches tight until we sever- break me in your open hands
Please Forget Me Not… I Need Your Simple Pleasures To Be God
Please, My Sweet de Sade… Just Eat My Heart And Twist Me Into Knots
    I know I never had a chance, I know I’m wretched and I stand
Seeking all the things you have, if I die with you it’s worth the life
I was just a Nothing wanting something- only you will only do
Everything and more, it comes to nothing- if it doesn’t come with you
Please Forget Me Not… I Need Your Simple Pleasures To Be God
Please, My Sweet de Sade… Just Eat My Heart And Twist Me Into Knots
    Something Dominating Nothing
    Nothing Animate Is Something Used
Fill Me- Wait a Minute- Kill Me
Feel Me- I Am In The Mood Abuse
Carve Carve Carve-I am Starve Starve Starved
For the Warmth of your Will
And the Edge of your Purest Thrill
    De Sade…

This song hits me so hard. To me its about being in an abusive relationship. The title "De Sade" was the name of a frenchman that was a well documented s & m enthusiast...lol. He derived pleasure from recieving and inflicting great pain. As a matter of fact I believe the word "SADIST" is derived from from his name...the Marquee De Sade. But anyways the song is saying that those of us who continue to seek abusive partners must be gluttons for pain and torture or "sadists". I have been in many abusive relationships. Was well into my 30s before I realized that it was because my parents or my Father rather was an abuser and that was all I knew. And I put myself thru great pain because of that fact...it almost killed me even..I was ready to end my own life rather than end the relationship....very sick. But I can feel that pain in this song. Especially when he screams De Sade at the end it brings up all those sick angry, sad feelings. Makes me wonder if Corey has been in similar relationships. Leave it to Slipknot. They really are so therapeutic...when I'm alone I scream along before I break down and cry...then I feel better. Anyways...umm does anyone else get that from this song also?

Interesting how the name of the band is written in lyrics: "twist me into knots". As far as I'm concerned, Slipknot's lyrics was always about the feelings related to people or music itself or fans etc. I also get emotional while listening to this kind of music. How great it is.

Tem som parecido ao Subliminal verses misturado com We are not your kind, e um pouco de The Gray chapter e hive mind me pareceu um pouco com AHIG (muito foda aliás) , enfim o Álbum tá muito bom, o Slipknot não decepciona, acho que só não gostei muito do Medicine for the dead, vou ouvi-la mais para ver se me acostumo

I don't know how many times i've listened to this track since the album release, but it's definitely my favorite so far.
That melancholic touch is so crushing. And for someone like me, who is already in utter emptiness, that's almost dangerous. It's my "language". You hit my nerve again.
De Sade will forever be my fall 2022 anthem.
Although i'm someone who has long overcome the pain of the end of the Iowa era, i was still very skeptical about the pre-release singles. Especially about Yen I didn't say a good word and I was even sure that this song will never grow on me. WTF I thought to myself...
But now, the album as a whole... it's a masterpiece. There's nothing rushed or anything like that here. Here we have just damn good music from people who know their craft.
That's right, the absolute killer hits like Critical Darling or the ultra violent wrecking balls like Solway Firth aren't on The End.
Everything is more simplistic here. Assorted. As if you had just gotten up to reorient yourself. But in such a damn good way that we get to hear unbelievable depth here that takes you away.
And folks, please remember: Iowa wasn't music. It was a dark disease that you either survive or not.
You can't repeat that. Unless you want to die.

I agree with pretty much everything u said except for, “ Iowa wasn’t music” Iowa was one of their best albums, and just because it was really rough for them at the time, it doesn’t mean we can consider their work to not be music. They poured their hearts and souls into that album, which is why it almost killed them.
