As much as Corey always talks about how the next album is “Iowa heavy” I don’t even care at this point. They’ve evolved so far beyond Iowa. I’ve had the chorus of yen stuck in my head since it came out and I can’t wait for the full album. Don’t get me wrong though….mick….James…I want to hear you guys with an 8 string
You said 8 but honestly a 7-string at this point would be great for me. Even if they tune to Drop A it means they can hit the lows while also bringing in the occasional high notes. Adds range. 8 could be cool too

Why does it seem like everyone forgets that Slipknots breakthrough single had clean vocals from Corey in it. This is what we loved, their mastery of combining melodic vocals with dirty vocals and hard riffs and switching tones. Welcome back Slipknot!

From AC/DC to Jimi Hendrix to Black Sabbath to Metallica to Spiritus Mortis to Morbid Angel to Evoken to Pig Destroyer to Woods of Desolation to Mayhem to Black Flag to Mogwai. But because I used to be an elitist asshole , I skip Slipknot and punk and metalcore subgenre. But right I am above that . I start to appreciate that rock music come in many form . 26 now , I right now in my -core pahse. Lorna Shore , Slipknot and Slaughter to Prevail rule.

I know right? Sid's scratching solo is probably one of my favorite moments in the song. Scratching is pretty unpopular across genres that aren't Hiphop or somethin', but Sid never fails to impress. Truly an inspiration.

the vocals in this one are top tier
The breakdown after Sid's solo is easily the best part. It gets sort of 'more slipknot' around that point. But then strays back in to the more melodic stuff. It's a nice mix between what we know slipknot for and what they are becoming/have become.
Your right, the evolution of the band has turned a corner.

One of the best things about Slipknot, and what makes them one of the best nu metal bands, is Corey's voice. I love his voice, and how he can sound amazing singing softly, or screaming his head off.

I've been a maggot since 2002 and it's amazing to still think they're still around with the deaths of Paul Gray and Joey Jordison. I've only ever seen Slipknot 1 time and that was at the legendary Download Festival 2009 show with the 9 . I remember when volume 3 came out and hearing duality and before I forget thinking how different it sounded compared to IOWA, in my opinion IOWA is slipknots heaviest album hands down, RIP Paul and Joey
Sure was it was a album that was taken from all their mental health shit ,seen them twice 2000 at Leeds carling festival and glasgow 2002 original 9 and that mad joey up in the air playing drums,i think slipknot have kept the appeal to older fans like us and managed to get new youngsters to love them I felt the last album was a example of what they had learned over the years but alot of older fans don't like it, maggots forever
this track will grow on alot of people with time. just think of it as gently if it was made on All Hope Is Gone

Honestly speaking... this new material feels like the best production and composition you guys have showcased. The last two albums were really steps forward but this feels... complete in a weird way. The writing and structure feels like the mature end product of 20 years of learning and adapting. As a music nerd fan, I know Paul and Joey would be so proud. Much love guys.

I just hope they can refrain from putting those awful filler tracks in this album such as Spiders, Death Because of Death, What's Next, and My Pain from the last album. Those tracks were so cringe and killed the flow of the album. The rest was great.

This is the first slipknot album I'll be around for the release of, I started listening to them right after WANYK came out, and man is this a thrill!
