Just broke up with my girl after ten years. Fell into a dark place after. Slipknot pulled me out and saved my life. I wanted to leave but got my fight back. Thank you! I'm going to Wisconsin Friday to see the band who helped me.
@@fandejeanpierremarielle7686 Is true that Slipknot have more songs that are actually more brutal than this one, but i like this...i dont find this a crap at all, is just a bit different...(no hate) 🤘
The psychological presence of these musicians isn’t talked about enough. An ability to sink down into the mind and make melancholy feel good is certainly a blessing and a curse. Thank you for sharing your pain and pleasure in the form of music for us all to enjoy. The amount of vulnerability it takes for this type of stimulation is unreal. 🖤🖤🖤
Love seeing the masks after remembering what Shawn told. "They illustrate how we feel at the moment". Such a change in both masks and sounds since the beginning, in best way possible. Shawn shines now, instead of sufficating himself. 🙏🏼
Yeah well... Being a millionaire in a band that EVERYONE in the world ever says is one of the most influential bands in rock music. Kinda hard to feel suffocated and/or repressed/damaged. Plus Slipknot is what? 24-26 years old? I'm glad he's shining, he deserves to, for co-creating a band that's more than a quarter century old.
@@lessur Or Chris Cornell, Robin Williams, etc. Kurt Cobain hated that Nirvana was getting big and popular in the 90s. Success doesn't equate to happiness.
1 year later and this is still a masterpiece. The End, So Far has been a really good album. I hope we get the best in the future. This song feels like a second Snuff by the lyrics.
This is the best-produced video Slipknot has made in their entire history. This Corey Mask managed to convey a feeling of dark, deep and despair, something like the All Hope Is Gone Mask that you couldn't see your eyes.Thank you Slipknot for staying alive all these years, and thank you to the producers and everyone who participated who made this video possible. STAY (SIC).
-------->THERE ARE NO WORDS THIS SONG RESIGNATES MY DARKENED SOUL AND FEEDS A PART OF MY BROKEN DEAD HEART THAT WILL COME TO LIVE EVER AGAIN .....BUT OTHER THAN THAT COREY TAYLOR IS BRILLIANT
I love that you can hear almost all of the 1,396 different instruments they’ve used in this track, there’s bass, there’s the kegs, there’s the xylophone sounding thing in the back, just about top to bottom of Corey’s vocal range, Sid’s solo - It’s a fucking masterpiece
4:10 really like this part, quite similar to AOV, sounds beautiful and emotional. It sounds like Corey's inner voice is expressing sadness and hope that the pain that is happening to him will bring happiness to his loved ones.

I know forgetting them is hard, I know focusing on yourself rather than them is hard. But you will manage to do it. And you will be happy. I know this because I am happy now.
Erring to the darker, more haunting side of things during that piece. I've gotta say, THIS is the Slipknot I've been waiting for all these years. Not just simple aggression, but chaos where chaos is required, and refined dark beauty to set the tone. I will be listening to this particular song on repeat for a very long time. I love it

This video hit me in a way I can't explain other than it making it feel like this album is the Magnum Opus of Slipknot. I hope, however, it is not the last work even if it is the greatest.
I am also loving this album so far. Yen strikes a chord with me. I love that Sid and Craig are more noticeable. I think those two have always been a huge factor in what separates Slipknot from other metal bands. Besides the insane percussion of course
This album is brilliant. It's the best attributes of the band here. It's not old slipknot. It's what they've become. And it is awesome. If you haven't seen them live ...get your shot together and go. You won't regret it!
I'm guessing electronic synths/pads/samples but that takes nothing away from it, sounds so good these days, they've upped their production/click track game too, along with the incredible sound design (listen to intro) you can add attack and sustain effects to a synth for one thing (makes it sound less 80s), and even use something like NI Kontakt to make a full sample orchestra where you can easily add individual effects on each orchestra part... Like compress the brass section to keep them under control, and EQ, spatial effects on the higher frq instruments ike string and flute. MAke sure you have a dedicated slot in the frequency section for most loud parts.. But yeah I think this is mostly synths and samples, which is actually pretty authentic. But maybe your comment is more accurate than mine, maybe they did use real orch instruments. Or maybe it was just a pisstake comment haha, siiick tune tho, and interesting comment my friend, peace
Literally playing Yen right now. Had to look twice on the screen to make sure i was reading it right. Official Video. Yes! Thank you Slipknot. Beautifully dark this, as it should.
Taking my 13 year old twins in December in Glasgow. One of them has started making slipknot bracelets (like the swifties) cause I told her the metal mums and dad's would one hundred percent want one. Haha
Not the rage I need from Slipknot. Lyrically beautiful. All the cross roads coming together. Perfectly slipknot . Gods know I needed u guys . Just keep releasing
Loving the three songs so far from the album, strong so far! Most slipknot fans would hate my opinion and me. But I prefer slipknot 1999 to iowa. Iowa is on the bottom for me 🤣🤣 I do like about 3 songs from iowa.
@@emiengazza I agree my friend. Slipknot usually releases a good medium. (Last song) a softer tone (this song) amd leave the great 90s hard-core for when the album drops. I really love the new memebers. They are doing great .
@@emiengazza nah, on ur 2nd comment. I've loved them all for different reasons. They all had hard songs, poetic songs, and mediums. Some lean towards different allies but they've lost memebers for many reasons. They ALL have to be in sync and for thay big of a band ....I couldn't imagine. I love early 90s slip myself but they've made me love their other stuff. I think this year's masks is the best next to Duality.
Sid’s solo really changed my life, the first time I heard it was so cathartic, felt like my soul exited my body and went into some other realm. Most incredible solo ever.
Amazing that, after all these years, these guys are still in the game making absolutely great music. They influenced my teen years. Heck, I couldn't go to the gym with the boys without some Slipknot to get my mood right.

This is one of the best songs i've listened to in a while! Not to mention the music video is incredible. Also that piano at the end gets me every time.
"Every time"? They just released this, so how would it get you "every time"? That would be for something you've known and heard for.. years at least...?

I Love Corey's new vocal style on this record like it's a great mixture between the new Grey Chapter voice and a throw back to the Iowa voice, it's a perfect blend.
This is the first slipknot rotation in a while when I can say that everybody’s mask is on point. Corey absolutely nailed it this time, not overly edgy but disturbing and vicious looking all the same
what does it mean though? is it like all of his wishes in his life became untrue therefor him wishing for his pain to last forever it’ll turn out to also be untrue? kinda like unjinxing it?
You guys have been doing this for over 2 decades and not lost any quality. Truly one of the greatest bands of all time, Individually and as a collection of artists. Much love gentleman.
Idk man Thier early work is still my favorite by far. If you compare the first 4 albums or even 3 you'd notice there's a Totally different vibe from each one. I felt like the last two albums were two parts of the same coin. Good stuff but sometimes it felt way too similar like I've heard it on the album before. Hopefully they'll have more experimental stuff in the new album doe :)
@@sonorous8483 it is also called evolving and changing, while their early stuff is still in my top 25 i have very much enjoyed the last album and this one is looking to be a banger as well there is nothing wrong with change, its like all the piss ant cry baby fans who do not like it that mike mangini is in Dream theater now and not Mike Portnoy things change weather its band members or the music but slip knot has never really left their roots sure they experiment and its not always great but its not drop dead shit either. there is plenty of stuff from bands i do not like i just do not have those songs in my collection that i don't like if the album has one or two songs i like ill buy them separately and add them to my collection easy enough and I still continue to support a band i grew up with LIKE SLIPKNOT!
I listened to the whole album two days ago and it's bad. I didn't like it at all, the whole album is way too soft. Very disappointed in the new album. I guess I'll just stick to the older albums.
I think Slipknot is one of the bands that keep their strength, balance and concept through the years without losing their style and that is very difficult artistically. Greetings from a fellow artist from Colombia ☺️
@@luisemilianogonzalezvinces3400 sorry to disagree. But listen to spit it out, or eyeless, then this. I know my shit. Been a fan for 16 years. They used to do metal rap dynamics, marching drums, Keg percussion, these things are what made slipknot, the pace of the snare & percussion, the deliverance of aggression in forms of vocalised expressions etc, they've definitely evolved, they said this them selfs lol, but they certainly are not like they used to be
I first heard this song when I was in El Dorado Super-max prison right after they told me my father died. He was my best friend. And all I did was stare at his picture and listen to this song as I channeled my hate. “As the knife goes in cut across my skin” reminds me of when my kids mom lied and told me she aborted my daughter and I attempted to take my own life. I stared at the scars up my arm and looked at his picture and now all of my hate is inside this song and one day I will use it to make you proud Dad. Rest in Peace Derrick the Bad Boy Reed. Have you seen them lately they ain't done. The Old school slipknot is back. Corey's rocking his 1999 mask and they're all rocking they're iowa jumpsuits. And elroy selputaras drummer is the new drummer. Road runner records was the problem
I’m 50 and these guys NEVER disappoint with brutal heavy metal!! Thank you Corey for the memories and kickass music!!! Been listening since 99!! 23 years!!
First time listening - felt disappointed, didn't like it Second time - hmm... there might be something here Third time - hey it's pretty cool Now can't stop listening to it - so many layers and feel that this might be the best slow paced song to date. Absolutely love it now!!
This gives me the vibes of being in the style of that one type of song on every album (think, Circle and Spiders), and I'm glad it got a single release for everyone to get to experience.
I love that they are still making music I started listening when I was 15 and to think 17 years later I'm still listening and loving and just amazed by the talent and the dedication to the fans and still making music. By far the best in the bizz

My thoughts? I’m glad you’re all making music almost thirty years later. I’m so happy to hear your music. As other bands as well that started in the 90’s and are still creating music. I revel in it. Dope music! 🤘🏻
I find a lot of Slipknot songs take a little while to digest before you can't stop consuming them. I dunno what it is, and I have thought about it. But I think it might be that there is so much going on in every song, I mean there are 9 band members, that it takes a fee listens before you've picked out every note and every sound, and by then, they've got you. Plus, Corey knows how to right a hook, God damn me.
Holy shit, this one gave me the same chills I had when i discovered Iowa and All Hope Is Gone years ago. When I first found you. The air this breathes is fucking magical and terrifying. It's insane how hard you guys can manage to strum the strings of my heart.
Believe in Jesus Christ - the Son of God. Believe in the King of Kings and Lord of Lords 👑. Know that God exists. Know that he loves his creation. If you follow the Bible you will know that most all of the 1,800 prophecies has come to pass. Once the final few happen Jesus Christ will return. Jesus is the Way the truth and the life. He accepts you no matter where you've been. Doomsday is on the horizon. Believe Jesus is the Son of God. Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. Read the Bible! Try to repent of your sins. "If anyone is ashamed of me and my message in these adulterous and sinful days, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” Our Saviour Jesus Christ died so that we will live. Jesus said, "I'm the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me". John 14:6.
Hell I’m 51 and love it more now than I did in my earlier years. I don’t know how they stay relevant within their changes but damn they just keep one uping every album 💿
when this song leaked, i was thinking: "Hmmm very different for slipknot, but quite pleasant" But after a couple weeks of listening, this song is so badass. Im genuinely impressed this band has been able to change sooo much without losing themselves!
It’s the same old shit... the vocals haven’t been the same since All Hope is Gone. I get that artists grow, but I don’t want to keep listening to the same album but different versions since The Gray Chapter

This amazing masterpiece, hits so hard for my wife and I and our souls deep, it made us discuss our multiple years spent in Iraq, while serving in the Army and it brought up a discussion of PTSD,lots of tears and bad memories, but in the end it helped get the emotions out. Music brings up emotion in our home and brings release. We're so thankful for great music that let's us give into what we are always trying to suppress and it gets let out and nothing negative happens
This is really sweet 💜 I hope life brings you and your wife many wonderful moments and in the bad ones it only makes you stronger.

Are you hurting me?
Let me savor what I'm waiting for
A chance to make me choke
You're all I can think about
The taste is red in rust
Can I hold you in my mouth
Until I fade into this form?
Can you cover me?
Will you breathe for me?
As the knife goes in, cut across my skin
When my death begins
I wanna know that I was dying for you
I died for you
As the knife goes in, cut across my skin
When my death bеgins
I wanna know that I was dying for you

Worry when it's not effect
This game is fine by me
All the words for retribution
Only add up to revenge
Overpower me (hahaha)
And devour me
As the knife goes in, cut across my skin
When my death begins
I wanna know that I was dying for you
I died for you
As the knife goes in, cut across my skin

This video hit me in a way I can't explain other than it making it feel like this album is the Magnum Opus of Slipknot. I hope, however, it is not the last work even if it is the greatest.

This album is brilliant. It's the best attributes of the band here. It's not old slipknot. It's what they've become. And it is awesome. If you haven't seen them live ...get your shot together and go. You won't regret it!
Worst album of their career. WANYK b sides lol
it's not Slipknot at all.
the slipknot orchestra backing the vocals with beauty and timing turn this into a symphony
I'm guessing electronic synths/pads/samples but that takes nothing away from it, sounds so good these days, they've upped their production/click track game too, along with the incredible sound design (listen to intro)
you can add attack and sustain effects to a synth for one thing (makes it sound less 80s), and even use something like NI Kontakt to make a full sample orchestra where you can easily add individual effects on each orchestra part...

I started listening when I was 15 and to think 17 years later I'm still listening and loving and just amazed by the talent and the dedication to the fans and still making music.
By far the best in the bizz
Same, I was 16 when I started to listening to them. And here we are 22 years later. :-)
Cheers for another 20 years!
This song is hauntingly beautiful. Corey's vocals always impress.
This was very interesting. I'm digging the tiny piano as the outro. Creepy yet hauntingly beautiful in that good way that Slipknot does oh so well.
•Slipknot - Yen Lyric•
You're the sin that I've been waiting for, the hands around my throat
It's all I can think about, the smell of sweat and blood
I would feed you all my pleasures just to drown in all of yours
Have you heard of me? Are you hurting me?
Let me savor what I'm waiting for, a chance to make me choke
You're all I can think about, the taste is red and rust
Can I hold you in my mouth until I fade into this form?
Can you cover me? Will you breathe for me?
As the knife goes in, cut across my skin, when my death begins
I wanna know that I was dying for you, I died for you
As the knife goes in, cut across my skin, when my death begins
I wanna know that I was dying for you, I died for you
I don't know what has happened yet, a surge of panicked zeal
Worry when it's not effect, this game is fine by me
All the words for retribution only add up to revenge
Overpower me and devour me
As the knife goes in, cut across my skin, when my death begins
I wanna know that I was dying for you, I died for you
As the knife goes in, cut across my skin, when my death begins
I wanna know that I was dying for you, I died for you
Show me all the deaths are the same
Show me you'll remember my name
Show me all the deaths are the same
You will remember my name
I wish this pain could last forever, forever
I wish this kill could make me suffer for good
As the knife goes in, cut across my skin, when my death begins
I wanna know that I was dying for you, I died for you
As the knife goes in, cut across my skin, when my death begins
I know that I am dying for you, I died for you

Wow this was an amazing change 🔥😎
Focking agree with u.. Its leaving us in the space 😍
His voice is so nice to listen to i can just listen to him all day
My thoughts? I’m glad you’re all making music almost thirty years later. I’m so happy to hear your music. As other bands as well that started in the 90’s and are still creating music. I revel in it. Dope music! 🤘🏻
This song took about a week to get used to but now I can’t stop listening to it. All the new releases fucking rock (and this is my favorite)!
@koiun dwrru fr adds to the whole creepiness and atmospheric feeling of the outro
@@SickSoundingStuff true
Holy shit, this one gave me the same chills I had when i discovered Iowa and All Hope Is Gone years ago. When I first found you. The air this breathes is fucking magical and terrifying. It's insane how hard you guys can manage to strum the strings of my heart.
Damn dude u r in love
Same feeling here but you put it poetically
John 14:6.
Do you feel the intense propensity of pure love from each rhythm - listened infinite times but still, my soul is thirsty for it...
These guys dominated my teen years and now, even in my mid-thirties, I'm still bloody loving Slipknot! right
Saw them first time at 14 years old and last saw them at 32. Timeless band man!
Hell I’m 51 and love it more now than I did in my earlier years. I don’t know how they stay relevant within their changes but damn they just keep one uping every album 💿
True story, me too 👀
What does age matter? It's 2023....
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
when this song leaked, i was thinking: "Hmmm very different for slipknot, but quite pleasant" But after a couple weeks of listening, this song is so badass. Im genuinely impressed this band has been able to change sooo much without losing themselves!
It’s the same old shit... the vocals haven’t been the same since All Hope is Gone. I get that artists grow, but I don’t want to keep listening to the same album but different versions since The Gray Chapter
Quite pleasant indeed plays a those beautiful musical notes 🎵
They haven't changed that much.
