Maureen does not believe in giving up on life’s pleasures simply because you think you are too old. For her, becoming an enthusiastic person is a choice we make. It’s a mindset. It’s an approach to life.
Don't set life behind you. Try new things and be sure to keep doing all the things that give you pleasure.

How do you find these places and people who are just normal people but are unbelievably happy and each of their words are like wisdom to the current generation lost in the material world. People have really forgotten the real meaning of life, and these videos just slaps us out of our illusions and helps us open our eyes to the reality of life. I'd go to church to listen to a few jazzy hymns."If you don't have a dream, how can a dream come true"? I love this. I have had a dream for so long, and next year it will come true. I will visit Ireland for the first time, the homeland of my unseen/unknown grandfather. And I can't wait. This video has been very motivating for me. Thank you.

@@maryblair3618 Thanks Mary. As it has turned out, my trip to Ireland this year needed to be cancelled for obvious reasons. I have decided to do much needed maintainance work on my house instead. Ireland will always hold a special place in my heart.

A Woman told me " a dream came true. And I never had this dream!!". I asked myself " how can this happen?? What means that?" The human- Self has Dreams.....but what about my SOULDREAMS😃soul has dreams what I even can't THINK about. It is a total different perception. Now I ask soul " what are your dreams?" This is so expanding.
And I don't have goals and plans....it is such a limitation because it comes from mind....of course some tiny plans for my day to day reality....make phonecalls....get some food etc.😃
What an incredible, wonderful woman! I wish I lived next door to her so we could be friends and spend time together. What great quality of life 🥰

I wish that I had her attitude towards life. Depression and anxiety take their toll on a persons mind, spirit and heart.

I so hope you are feeling better these days. As someone who has struggled with very serious depression at times, the following are some things I wish I'd known sooner. I am sending you wishes for much joy, and a light heart. ❤
1) Cognitive behavioral therapy techniques (especially noticing negative assumptions and reframing them); 2) gratitude journal (harnessing the subconscious to always look for the positive has worked subtle miracles in my mindset over time); 3) design thinking (identifying and brainstorming solutions for the core issue/need vs. the assumed one: What do I think X will do for me? What are some other sources for those things?); 4) Recognizing that I'm allowed to like myself flaws and all, and indeed, doing so honors my value/belief that the world is made better when all are treated with compassion and love. ❤ Wishing you well all ways!
Thank you for filming this lady. such a zest for life, no matter, husband gone, she needs a crutch... but none of that is stopping her from loving life, playing a bit of Gershwin (was that the last piece?) in church. How wonderful!!!! We need to spread this spirit around and your films are doing this. I am extremely grateful and appreciative... I will make your films a part of my daily visit with my mother-in-law. She is 91 and, I believe, will be cheered up by these kinds of films of other people in the same boat as she is, but loving and enjoying each day and always seeing cup half full.... and laughing.

Maureen brought tears to my eyes, but not out of sadness.
I've been watching these videos for a couple of weeks now, and inside each video there is a type of peace and comfort. You then sit back and close your eyes to realize how blessed we are with the life we have and the people who are in it. You are already surrounded by everything you need.

My day started with " Carpe Diem " popping up on my screen unexpectedly .
To think only a year back, with such assurance she was driving away stylishly in a red car, wearing a red dress and red hat and sending us all the best message-- to live life fully. All too soon she has left us. She will be missed very badly.

Oh, the people you film are my mentors - Maureen, in particular! The love for her husband is palpable and it's clear she still lives with the grief and sadness, and yet it seems to have directly influenced her embrace for life all the more. What an inspirational woman! I'm only 63 and i mope entirely too much! I have chronic depression and have all my life, i need to work through it and start living again! I certainly will try harder from now on! With this COVID mess I'm lonely and it's hard to go anywhere or do anything or meet people! But, i will try harder. Thank you!
@Mary Blair - Working through depression isn't easy Mary. My only suggestion would be to take one day at a time - set one small intention to connect/get out/do something new- and see where it leads. Stay strong, and we send many warm hugs of love to you x
Go for it, Mary! Delighted you’ll give it a shot. Of course we follow the Covid rules and stay safe but don’t let it stop you. I bought some water colour paints recently and had a little doodle, which was fun. Also a little Christmas decoration kit online. When a walk’s possible it’s great to say ahead of your walk “this is going to be a great walk” or “I’m looking forward to my delicious lunch’ and cook something you love. Much love ❤️
Take good, good care of yourself. I believe we are so much more than what we think and what we “have” - physically or emotionally speaking. You have every right, as each of us does, to create a life that is good, and meaningful. You - each of us - has nothing to prove ...you are enough. Breathe, explore (and yes, I’m in the US and the covid situation is a challenging tragedy) what strikes you at any given end moment, with no need to explain or justify to anyone, including yourself. Be both bold and gentle with yourself. Lastly, I encourage you to remember there are people all over our world who care for you and about you. We are all members of this human tribe ... and we can decide how we want to care for ourselves and each other.
Mary, you have community here, and a lovely source of inspiration with these superb videos. We hear you give voice to what weighs you down, and to your choice to lift your sights and perhaps allow your heart to follow. My gratitude journal has helped me to refine my vision, and recognize the blessings I am surrounded by. I'm holding a vision for you to find some joy too, no matter how simple the source.
