The Starbucks bit had me laughing hysterically. One of my favorite bits of his. We are blessed to have him in the world of comedy. Lewis Black is a legend!
that happens in Canada with Tim Horton's one right across the street an you don't even get far enough away from them two an you will find yourself at another one.

The older I get to more I relate to this man
His album with this joke is one of the best comedy albums ever. Lewis Black is a legend.
He was talking about the intersection of Shepard and West Gray. Two standalone stores and one inside the Barnes & Noble right next door. They closed one of the standalones. However, there's another one inside the Kroger a block away so three Starbucks on two consecutive blocks on the same side of the street.
His delivery and writing is/was spectacular
Well he's still alive. Go see him: LEWIS BLACK!
A master of his craft.
@@craigb8228 I'm British pal, I'm a big comedy fan even with our brothers and sisters on the other side of the ponds comedy. 🤙
The most astounding thing about this is in 2009 they opened a 3rd Starbucks right there inside a Barnes and Noble
For a while in Georgia there was a shopping center with a B&N that had a Starbucks within it. Across the street from that was another shopping center with a standalone Starbucks. I suppose they could have had a small bookshop inside it, but I was never brave enough to step inside.
it took 7 years for time warp to catch up to the rest of USA and suck it into alternative dimension
We had a Walmart with a CrapDonalds in it. Just across the parking lot there is another CrapDonalds
Ha
That would probably blow Mr. Black's mind
I saw Lewis Black live in person at Six Flags Great Adventure. Best Live I have ever seen.
I built that Starbucks!🤣
I remember these Starbucks stores, it was in Rice village in Houston, TX. I saw them and I was like WTF is going on here. This was before I came across Lewis Black's bit on it which is brilliant. But yeah, 2 Starbucks' right across from each other in H-Town.
This is one of my absolute favorite commentaries by any comedian.
The delivery is everything. A legend
Sadly, one of the Starbucks has been replaced by a bank (although there is another one in a neighboring Barnes & Noble)
Just moved to a place that has a standalone Starbucks one block away from a Starbucks inside a grocery store. Immediately heard Lewis's voice in my head after noticing this.
This is one of the best pieces of standup comedy I know. And I know a few.
I am so lucky to have seen him perform in my hometown.
It’s not that good
I live in Bradenton, Florida.
At the corner of 53rd and 34th
there is a 7-Eleven.
Directly across the street,
and I mean RIGHT across the street,
is another 7-Eleven ..... True story. 🤣
I believe it 😂 Anything is possible in Florida.
Brilliant... as usual.
This routine is one of his best and one of my all time favorites
I lived down the street from those Starbucks when Black was performing at the comedy club in the strip mall right next to one of them. I remember hearing he was performing and felt a little bummed I wasn't able to go. Little did I know then that night would give birth to my favorite comedy routine of all time.
One of the best to ever do it.
Yo my man’s up there with no mic, he looks like he’s giving a ted talk
It's on his vest. :)
@@Mikepwns112 I mean yeah I know, it's just funny to see someone doing standup without holding a mic or having one in front of them. But on second thought, with how loud Lewis Black is I would believe he could do it completely mic-less...
Yeah, a TED Talk on quantum physics lol
They dont like Microphone stands, gets infront of the comic. Most comics just hold the mic during the gala performaces, he lets the mic sit in the stand.
Yes, his Ted Talk is on the end of the universe, as titled, and he’s educating us on how the end of the world doesn’t come from extraterrestrial sources but rather has already begun in the United States. I found it very enlightening and wonder how his research did not earn him a Nobel Peace Prize.
Nearly 15 years later, this joke still sticks with me.
One of my favorite comedians
They closed the Starbucks across the street, now the line is super long. Now I think they really do need another Starbucks 😂
Eugene, Oregon.
Lowe's is next door to The Home Depot.
Same inventory, same everything.
Their parking-lots touch.
🤣
I just looked it up. It's true!
Why!?
Ha! One of my favorites! Funny note: shortly after hearing this routine- my friends and I took a trip to Vancouver, BC and on one of the main streets in tourism (can’t remember if it was Granville?) there was, at least in the early 2000’s- a Starbucks. And- if you looked kitty corner across the street- ANOTHER Starbucks!!! 🤣🤣 Unfortunately, we were not wearing watches- though I’m sure our laughing fits and comments of finding yet another End point of the Universe got at least a few looks. 😂😂😎
"BUT THERE'S ANOTHER STARBUCKS!!!!" The delivery is so perfect
He’s the best since Carlin.
One of the greatest comedians everrr! 😊😊
Stanley Hudson brought me here.. I stayed for the coffee
God bless this man
... careful .... you could have introduced harsh reality to fluffy dreaming, the result would be.... The Westboro Baptist Cult.
You know what would it be
in that empty space in front of the Starbucks , a Dunking Donuts , that’s why there is another Starbucks, but I think it’s illegal to do that.
I’m crying laughing in the middle of the night I woke my gf up
He was very different in some ways back then. I love him no matter what.
In Lake Forest, Southern California, there is a Del Taco across the street from a Del Taco...
I know the street he's describing. They had one of the largest sports bars around the area called The Tavern.
This proves to be a good comedian you have to be smart/woke. Chapple, Pryor Murphy, Williams all display genius outlooks on the world and society.
+Carlin
@@flamemystic958 Hell yeah for sure I'm an asshole for not putting his name lol
"smart/woke" Lmfao
@@therobkaufman Meaning both, because there's a difference.
@Hydin Biden Stop commenting on all my videos and replying to all my comments. That's kinda cringey.
In my city we have two KFCs right across each other, with an intercity highway in between. Time doesn't stand still, I'm afraid, but TRAFFIC OFTEN DOES. Because drivers from out of town keep giving double-takes at the two KFCs and banging into the vehicles in front.
I really like: the end of the universe joke ! 🤣👍
There were a number of similar extreme curvatures of space-time in the vicinity of Starbucks' outlets in NYC in the late '90s
Prime Lewis. Saw him live at the NYC Comedy Festival right around that time, with opening comedian Zack Galifianakis, who was unknown at the time. Never laughed so hard in my life. Went home with an aching face but very happy.
There's one corner in Seattle where you can count 7, yes seven, Starbucks.
Two more and they'll have a Starbucks Gate.
How can the second Starbucks be both in the same building and across from the first Starbucks?
I'm seeing the same thing but with Subway restaurants. Not accross the street from each other, but three within the same mile is still pretty close.
You live in Monroe?
Yes, indeed - same named service/gas stations, mattress store, and drug store.😊
If Houston Tx. Is the end of the Universe, then Boston must be the beginning. After a cross country red eye flight into Boston’s Logan Airport we stopped at a Dunkin Donuts for a quick breakfast. Directly across the street was another Dunkin Donuts! My son even took a picture! 🤦🏼♂️
Lewis should go there!
It will make his head explode!🤯
i love his old stuff
There was a corner in Waldorf, Md, that had three McDonalds on three corners of the same intersection in the 90s. It stayed that way until one of the owners bought out the other two of the McDs and closed them.
The River Oaks Shopping Center is where he found the two Starbucks.
Lewis Black is a political Rodney Dangerfield, With a lot more passion.
Can you point me toward any evidence that Lewis ever made a political joke about his own political affiliation? I didn't think so. If Lou were a boat he would immediately sink port side first.
Marvelous!!!
On point.
Lewis: I love your dry humor! :)
no it was on special when the ordered it, Buy one Starbuck and get one free.
There is a Dunkin Donuts across from another Dunkin Donuts in Dedham, Massachusetts. You can sit inside one and see inside the other one, across the parking lot.
When I went to Boston a few winters ago, it stunned me speechless that there should be so many Dunkin Donuts. Are the donuts still made fresh there or something?
@@F.Underhill
Delivered fresh weekly...
I’ve heard Massachusetts love their Dunkin Donuts.
Is there a restaurant around the area? specifically one where the meat talks to you.
So what is it, across the street or in the same building? It can't be both.
Reminds me of the Woody Allen film where the Fast Food Wars are over -- and Taco Bell was the winner.
Dubai’s airport, zone C. You exit the train to get to the gates on the deck above and all there is on the station floor besides the gigantic elevators is a Costa. You go upstairs and on the same spot right above it there’s another Costa.
I swear to god I’m not joking.
I feel the same about circle k next to a circle k
No comment from Starbucks, so far ? :D :P
Maybe they could share their vision upon this situation. C'mon Starbucks.... don't let us despair and think we're heading toward the imminent end of the Universe !
Error 404 starbucks does not exist.
Your very observant
He was the voice of Mr E from the Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated animated show.
thanks
At one time there were 2 Starbucks, equidistant (1 block in either direction) from the front gate of my condo on Market Street in downtown San Diego. It created a dilemma, to be sure...

The best ever 🤣🤣🤣
Mcds I swear is on every corner ffs Lowe’s Home Depot heb those as well
The Starbucks across from the Barnes is closed now
You're soooooo right Lewis !!!! 🧐🤯😊😁😂🤣
Might be time to break the power grid
Maybe it was a Revenge Starbucks, you know, a different franchisee....
2001 and Starbucks? I didn't even know they were that prevalent that long ago
Lewis Black always makes my day. However all kidding aside there is no end to our universe, excuse me "Electrified Magnetic Plasma Universe", bottom there is no end to it it is our existence!
Traffic flow, it’s all about traffic flow.
Location: westerly, r. I. USA. Dunnes corners. 2 opposing coffee SHOPS ON ROUTE ONE . BESS EATON...... BESS EATON goes belly up and is replaced by 2 new opossing coffee shops TIM HORTON. DATE. 2001+. THE TIME CONTINUOUM. MUST BE KEPT!
Kinda like Carlin but more erratic!
And then he aged 30 years over the next 10 years.
That is what rage does to you.
Who knew in 2001 that this joke would not age well. It is now those marijuana shops in the 6ix.
Just saw him live in Redding, Ca... still the gut busting curmudgeon he's always been.
Canadians are Americans ... North Americas ... it is the United States OF America not the United States IS America ...
What about Mexicans?
Well its texas so most likely the people on 1 side of the street coming over to the wrong starbucks would cause a riott.
Here from roe Jogan pod cazt
Most people use the bathroom that's it
America has an epidemic of arrogance.
Because there is no culture here; DNA is destiny!
😂😂🎉🎉❤❤
Going to Canada; because it's important for Americans to leave and go to another country... America isn't a country but if it were then Canada is the same country just as Mexico is. It always makes me cringe when U.S.A. residents misappropriate the partial name of an entire continent to refer to themselves simply because in the midst of carving out a country no one thought of a descriptive label for the inhabitants that wasn't wrong or a paragraph long. That is just stupid, short sighted and annoying, but for it to appear in aa Lewis Black presentation is so ,so sad as he is so smart, informed, aware and completely not the person that you could point it out to as he could verbally slaughter a college of language professors let alone a dumb shmuck like me. I'd like to suggest that U.S.A. lians adopt either 'Merkins" or Imericans to match your Iphones.
@Ben,
Good point.
From now on, I eliminate 'America' from my vocabulary.
Instead, can we agree on 'The Great Satan'?
@@largemarge1603 The Great Satan is a bit pretentious don't you think, The Loud Satan maybe or the Throwing a Tantrum Satan. Whatever makes you happy>
I just love this guy !
Except for when he takes God's name in vein .
Don't do that anymore Lewis..!
No, do that Lewis, don’t let the Jeeeezuz freaks muzzle you.
@Jessie,
Agreed.
I was waiting for the lightening bolt...
