One day at lunch Lew sprung for my hot dog and beer on the lot and we sat down at a picnic table and laughed about random shit just like this. If customers were employers then they would have to adhere to the same legal obligations as one, making them directly responsible. They don't, so why should they expect to be treated as though they do?

Since 2006, it’s really been called “Winter Time” when we fall back, because we spring forward the 2nd weekend of March and don’t switch to historic Standard Time until the 1st Sunday of Nov. Historically, until 1985, it used to be exactly 6 months ST, 6 months DST, from the last weekend of April until the last weekend of October. In 1986 the spring forward was moved up to the 1st Sunday of April. I personally would stay on DST year round because I’d rather it dark at 5PM in December than 4PM like it always does (public safety issue). I’d rather have the extra hour of daylight at the end of the day. I’d rather squint in the morning than be greeted to blaring sunshine!

When i was a child, I inquired of my parents, (Both with graduate degrees, at the time) "Why do we change the clocks, twice a year?" They explained that it went back to WWII, when the mercantile system needed to encourage more consumer spending, and those in power thought that more light, after work, would help. It did, initially, and so the process became standard. (I'm autistic savant, and so this made a sort of sense, at the time) As I grew older, I realized that the time in which such a procedure would generate profit had long passed. It was a case of the activity having been useful, for a couple of decades, but the usefulness faded. The procedure did not. If we don't put an end to daylight savings time, then how about this? When the clocks change, so do all of our activities. Things that opened at seven, now open at eight, or the reverse, for Widdershins when things opening at eight, open instead at seven. The same with going to work, and school, and even church. (many people still go to church, even though they know that God is pissed off at Humanity, and just sits with his arms folded, waiting for someone to notice)
This wouldn't solve all the problems, but it would make everyone see how totally fucked to tears the activity remains. It would open the eyes of the "silent majority" to notice that changing when you did stuff, twice a year, is easier than changing the time and trying to adjust to the fuck-for-brains idea which some illiterate fuckers thought of, back when the Second World War was the news of the day. Surprise, Motherfuckers! World War Two is OVER! We no longer need scrap drives, and meatless tuesdays. Well maybe we still need those things, but the reasons have changed. So, in conclusion, if you want Daylight Savings Time, try this... Find a point for it. Come up with a reason it should exist. Otherwise just end it and get over the Second World War!

Here's why I hate daylight savings time. I used to have my alarm clock set to wake up every morning at the same time, and it just so happens that it was set on a radio channel that played the same recorded set list every day, as well. Thus, I found myself waking up to the radio switching on to an intro to the song, Love in an Elevator, by Aerosmith. The intro was a lady saying, "Good morning Mr. Leach. Going down?" Needless to say, this was the perfect thing to wake up to every single morning. That is, until daylight savings time, and I had to switch out the time on the clock! Sadistic bastards!

Any State can just decide by Governors decree to stop changing the clocks. It's not hard. Get a petition and take it to your Governor. Question asked: If daylight saving time was never invented, what year would we possibly be in?
My answer: Great question. The Uniform Time Act was passed by Congress in 1966 (52 years ago) after television broadcasters lobbied them (Congress is not always that smart to do much on their own) for scheduling tv shows. Daylight Savings Time was invented long before 1966 however it wasn’t uniform across the country so I’ll calculate it based on uniformity.
In answering your question based on today’s date of Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 9:00 A.M., when the clocks change next weekend in the states where DST is recognized, they will fall back one hour. Since 1966, that’s 52 hours you have had to repeat, or in other words 52 hours in the negative direction. If DST wasn’t invented, it would currently be Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. You would be late to work two days in a row and are probably already fired. And since you didn’t get up in time, your dog peed in your living room on the couch.
Not all is lost, cause in the spring the clocks spring forward. Since 1966, that’s 52 hours you skipped in the positive direction. It DST wasn’t invented, it would currently be Friday, October 25, 2018 at 5:00 A.M. You would have the whole weekend ahead of you to learn some basics. You missed church and the Red Sox coming from behind and beating the Dodgers last night.
So alas, since you lost 52 hours and gained 52 hours since 1966, for most of us the current year is 2018, however in your case, you’re still in 1966 which is a good thing. You can now pay more attention in school and learn some simple thinking skills. And quit watching Bewitched, Batman and Get Smart on tv!

I have a solution to the Daylight savings time. We set our clocks forward or back every month by 10 minutes. No one will be on time to work or school!

I absolutely hate daylight savings time! I grew up in southern Louisiana on standard time. Then the 1970's " oil shortage" happened, and D.S.T was implemented to save energy. That's what we were told anyway. There was no oil shortage. The Arabs simply reduced the supply, thus causing a panic that we were going to run out. Now-a-days, DST is used so rich people have more daylight to play golf, or something like that. It's a pain in the neck, but I know that "the powers that be" won't get rid of it as long as it is profitable to them....
