Gotta say that I like having the gauges in the dash. I think Nissan deserves kudos for producing the Z with their parts and engineering vs. Toyota that "borrowed" BMW parts and engineering to build a Supra (supposedly a halo car, but with a dash of German engineering). Nissan Z looks incredible.
Bought a new 24 Z in December of 2023. I had only seen one on the road a few months earlier and liked what i saw and had read about it. Idk if people aren't buying or dealers aren't dealing. Rare car and I've put about 4,500 miles so far. I would recommend it to anyone considering a sporty 2 door. If i could have bought a new 6 cylinder Supra for the low to mid 40's i would have for sure. Hopefully the resale holds up decently on the Z.
That's good to hear. I'm buying a 2024 black performance. My 2016 nismo tech was just stolen a few weeks ago. I'm hoping the new z is less desirable to thieves since the parts aren't as hot on the black market. I will miss my nismo seats though.
@@DGrey sorry about the nismo man. Happy that you have a car that can kinda replace the 2016. Still enjoying the Z every drive. My Z replaced a 2023 c8. You should feel at home in the new one. You going with the manual? I opted for the nine speed auto which is decent. Hopefully you never have to experience theft again.
@@davidryder5082 Hey thanks! I was considering the vette but it's just too much $$. I went with a black performance auto with red/black interior. I wanted that specific car so at least from the inside it will look similar to my nismo tech. I've had plenty of stick sports cars so I'm ok with just the paddle shifters on exactly the color combo I wanted. I'm just really going to miss my recaro seats & those nismo rays wheels. I think these are the same wheels just no silver highlights which can probably be added. I'll see about a viper alarm & a fuel cutoff switch.
I just bought this exact one in Grey with red trim. Get the 6 speed manual-its fantastic. I had a ln 04 350Z 6 speed manual that i bought certified preowned at 38000 miles, and drove it to 125000 miles before selling it. This new 2024 Z is everything i wanted, and a noticeable better ride overall. They really put some craftsmanship into the interior + drivetrian on this one. Worth it!
Test drove this exact Spec and loved it, I need to compare it to a Supra (when I can find one) so I can make my choice. I think one selling point is because the Z is not selling and each dealer has at least two in stock, you can get it for below MSRP which makes it much cheaper than a Supra. For example, I saw a dealer marking this one down to 49K when researching ($5k discount).
Nissan was attractive in the past because it was priced for less than Honda and Toyota. I sat in one and can say That interior is not luxury but they want a luxury price for it.
The killer for the Z is it requires 93 octane to make the advertised power. Only 91 where I live and I’m sure for lots of the country. Sounds like power goes down quite a bit if you can’t put 93 in it.
BMW Z4 2 litter 255 hp starts at $54k BMW Z4 3 litter 382 hp starts at $66k Toyota Supra 3 litter 382 hp starts at $56k Nissan Z 3 litter 400 hp starts at $42k
Z is an awesome little sporty car, I just feel like unless you're hard stuck on the fact that the Supra is mostly a BMW or like the looks of the Z more then I'd personally choose Supra every time. Better engine, faster shifting transmission with the ZF 8 speed and better Manual, better fuel economy, faster the list just goes on. If you ran into a point where you're budget conscious and you can find a Z for much cheaper than the Supra then I could see an argument saving some money because the Z is no slouch.
I don't regret my '22 Supra at *all* . I love the thing. So far, I've seen two Z's on the road, and while the Z isn't a bad looking car, it's also nothing special imo. Meanwhile, I'm always turning heads in the Supra. Ben says the Z design will age better, but idk. The Supra is just such a unique looking car. The Z looks like a modern throwback. That's not a bad thing for the Z, but I also don't think it's necessarily a good thing.
Honestly I love the Nissan Z.i know it "doesn't compare" to the Toyota GR Supra but let's give credit were it's due.the Supra is basically a BMW not a Toyota but the Z is what it is a Nissan!.so kudos to Nissan.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Don't be fooled. The Supra is a better car in every aspect. Yes, the Supra's price is higher but you get an overall above average car for the price. I went for a test drive on the Z but didn't need it. Nissan tried to cheap out. Materials are subpar and it's the same 370Z chassis (15 years now in production). Believe me that I wanted to like it. I came from a 2020 Supra 3.0 AT base and ended with a 2024 Supra 3.0 M6 Premium.
had my 23 Altima in this gun metal gray lol the thing was completely incognito ... all and all it's a neat car, I could not justify $54k on this, but I'm old and use to old school rates. Ty for sharing.
As much as I like the looks we know the Supra is gonna give the owners less headaches. I know it’s a sports car but doesn’t mean it needs to send me to the poor house
It’s too expensive, it’s mostly a part bin car (20 year old chassis, decade + old engine, 370 left over stuff). The interior is terrible. And the front is absolute garbage. The two tone looks like a bad west coast customs from the early 2000s.
The only people who don't like it are internet trolls. When people see it in real life, their jaws drop to the floor. I catch people taking pictures of mine almost every time I take it out of the garage.
@@tizodd6 Doesn't have that Elegant look of last generations Supra Should've just made the new Supra look like the 2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition instead
@@LurkerDood I disagree. I find it very elegant. I really like the design. I like "organic", rounded curves on a car. Not a fan of squared and sharp angles. I used to own a '93 Rx-7, and I loved the curves of that car as well. I'm not saying the Z is ugly or anything, but I definitely prefer the Supra. in the end though, it all comes down to personal preference.
Agreed😂 The *only* way I would consider the Z, is if it was considerably less than the Supra. But at the price they're trying to sell it, I could never justify the Z.
I’m sure they’re very appreciative that they gave you their car to demo and you’re advertising for Toyota. If I were NISMO, I’d put a bulletin out to the dealers to never let you demo one of our cars again. 😂
Love that Z. Such a shame Nissan can't put the same inspiration in their other vehicles. GTR and Z are wonderful.

I saw this when looking at the Pathfinder. They rolled it outside so it could be taken for a test drive. The one I saw was a manual!
Seems like two different teams designed the front and rear of the car.
Rear is great. Front is bad.
I still haven’t seen one in the road!? However, seen many new 5.0 Mustang GT.

@dontezcristol3017 what does that matter? The car is 15k over priced.

Nissan is real daddy!
Beautiful, esp, in that color and also a great car. Well developed engine and chassis.

Yes, the accents are ORANGE.

I don't care if I shouldn't buy a Toyota Supra! The Supra is not dead!

Nissan reliability is a FACTOR , THATs why ILL GET A BMW* Toyota hybrid
Not with slush box! ;-(
Supra will smoke it, and out handle it if that is important however a new mustang will smoke both and allot of cheaper :)
Great look car... simple and beautiful... love it...I'm just not sure about Nissan reliability
Why would you buy an automatic? It’s just weird.

The car looks like something the femme fatale in a Bond film would drive, kind of a serpentine look to it.

Sounds a bit like my Dyson vacuum cleaner
Love it
I can't afford insurance on a sports car like this so it's a hard no for me.
It’s not hard (insurance) after 60, I have a 911 GT3, but then it’s impossible to get in and out.
@jimsteinway695 congrats on GT3, living the dream
Does it have an overhead camera view?
No. I have this exact car and that’s a feature I miss from the ‘21 Maxima I had before this.

Lol, any Supra > any Z😁
