Finally, someone who knows the nomenclature of all parts involved, this video looks and sounds much more professional than others found on RUclips. Good job Brownells.
Never cared too much for the LAW tactical folder, until now: they just released a BCG with an integrated recoil system that doesn’t require a buffer tube, so you can run it even with a folded stock.
Thanks for mentioning the difference between the gen 2 and gen 3 models. I'm seeing the gen 2 available at a lower price than the gen 3 but didn't know the difference.
Got mine a few days ago cant wait to put it on my lower...waiting for stamp..and waiting,,, and waiting. Love Brownells and love the new Law Gen3M no need for a special buffer retainer or spring to loose! Yippee! Nice job Mr. Law
How I installed the buffer retaining pin and tube. Unscrew the bolt from the bottom and removed, insert the pin retainer and spring from the bottom hole or screw the buffer tube to where it lines up on the pinhole of the buffer tube first, then install the screw back on the bottom hole to secure the retaining pin. I think that maybe the reason why they put it there. Great job on the video! I lost so many spring installing it the conventional way. Frustrating. :) You welcome.
I own a new Saint Victor Law Enforcement Tactical with this device that was installed by Springfield Armory prior to me purchasing it. The problem is the bolt carrier extension appears to be slightly to long as when closing the stock from the folded to the closed position it catches and will not close without manual thumb pressure to properly align the carrier extension so it will close and lock in place. I have contacted the company and explained to problem and ent pictures. The extension is seated as far as it will go.
Law tactical sells An alternate Bolt Carrier Extension will be available for bolt carriers with a smaller 1/2 diameter hole. I don’t know if it’s shorter or not but the fact they make a few different extensions means it’s not an1 size fits all. Brownells has a tech line if calling law tactical directly doesn’t get you anywhere
Now what do I do if the bolt has a weight in the rear? will the extension make up for it? do I need a special weight to replace it and leave enough room for the extension? If so where do I get one? The video was nice and informative, but did not once even hint at any of the problems one might run into or the solutions.
I have that exact issue. After installing the Adapter & extension, the round is not extracted. I think the Carrier Group is traveling too fast or not far enough.
The hinge seems to have seized in mine hence I can't fold it much less assemble as the pin won't come out due to the obstruction. I can't even loosen it up by unscrewing it with my 1/8 inch hex torque screwdriver. Is there a trick to this? Got it from Brownell's.
Good information since no directions from a Chinese knock off I bought. But like the Chinese web site I bought it from this is not made from steel . Call it a alloy at least .Better yet try aircraft grade aluminum . Truly thank you for clear concise directions
You need to look into a company called Titan Tactic. They are using this video on their website as an install video for the knockoff adapter they are selling
Hi guys. One question. It is described to fit the 308 cal. How´s that possible? The M4/M16 buffer tubes have different diameter to the 308. Can you explain?
I have an Aero Precision AR15. I have the flexing adapter but the nut of the breeze is so tight...it won't come loose. I'm using the Brownells tool. Can W-40 could be used?
hi, how do you adjust the tension on the swing of the law folder? I tighted the screw on the hinge as tight as I could but the the folder [when opened] still swings freely without any tension. Thanks
Would help to mention how many turns to install stock thread into the foldin part. Also. Small spring ejjected from the lowrr receiver. You dont mention thst ir the purpose it serves.
lol it doesn’t come with the Allen wrench. I’m looking at a 50 cent at cost Allen wrenches yet don’t have that one. Now my gun is in pieces and So far this is extremely frustrating. May just send it back. I can’t even figure out how to open the main component.
My AR 9 bolt is solid in the rear. Can I still use this without the bolt extention. FWIW mine came with zero instructions or the little butterfly wrench.
Being that the BCG is in the upper receiver and the LAW folder is in the lower receiver, you fold the stock to the side, push the release bottom, slide the bolt to the rear to remove extension, disengage rear takedown pin, pivot upper and slide BCG rearward to remove charging handle. No reason to remove folder unless I am completely jacked up.
ALIEXPRESS CHINA VERSION... $22 I bought 2 and modified the locking assembly to include a steel pin and modified the BCG extension with a dremel. Its 10 times lighter made from solid milled aluminium and have put about 600 rounds down range with it.
Question anyone -- at (3:33) the Buffer Tube looks like it is holding down the Buffer Retainer as he puts the Buffer Spring back into the Tube, is that the correct way?
Papo Guapo no. Best case scenario, you get one shot and it won't cycle. Worst case, you get a face full of burning gas and particulates and maybe the BCG flies out and clocks you in the throat.

$250 way too expensive.. Also you can NOT fire it from the folded position, well that just sucks. So it helps you shorten the length to put into a backpack but other than that it is pointless and stupid especially for $250
if you want an ar that has a folding stock that can be fired while folded, go look at the rock river arms lar-pds, they have the 16 inch full length rifle or you can look at the pistol that they offer and register it as an sbr and add the folding stock at a later date, and yes it is expensive, but it works
It blows my mind that law tactical wouldn’t include a 50 cent 9/64 Allen key when I spent over $200 on this. Just that alone mixed with the fact that It’s extremely confusing to install. Fixing to just get my money back. Not worth the headache.
@@t77snapshot nope, it’s a piece of shit. Not steel, adds more length than this. The bearings that hold it open go out very quickly, and it has major malfunction issues. Awesome video! Installed without a hitch, now to get her out to the range for a real test. Thank you.
This helped me alot!!!! Great job sir.
Damn it.. you covered with your hand that critical part when the part that holds on the receiver is inserted.
Simple concise direction complete & well paced, especially for pause & repeat
Really thinking about getting one for my midrange 308 ar10 rifle

how do you get around using this on a 9mm carbine because the BCG is solid in back with no hole for extension peice ??????
You have to buy one that has a removable weight in it.
I wonder how this would work after you have modified The citadel boss 25 to take a adjustable stock
what is the result during firing without unfolding
probably a broken collar bone, from the bolt flying back.
Without buffer, I think one shot max.
Sending one round downrange and probs a fail to eject and a bolt assembly to the chest
So the bold carrier extender gets caught in the adaptor release mechanism when trying to charge a round. What am I doing wrong??
He forgot to put back the spring in the upper.
What is the wrench used to take the buffer tube off ?
That specific wrench is a castle nut wrench, but just look up ar15 wrench and you'll find some with a castle nut and barrel wrench in one
