    I just used it on a shower that was so bad I thought we were going to have to rip it out because the stains and scum were so set in that nothing was cleaning the walls of this shower 😮but after 5 rounds with this stuff (remember this shower was REALLY BAD and not my shower btw it was my little brothers bathroom) it looked BRAND NEW! You sir are a life saver because nothing was work the harsh shower chemicals, the steamer, just regular borax, etc. you name it, it didn’t touch it ! But your mixture made it perfect again thank you ❤ wish I could share the pictures just to show how amazing this stuff worked 😮

      Basically the same thing. The only thing you're paying for is the name brand. It works exactly the same. I have this exact brand and it works just as well as dawn.

    Years ago I used to clean houses for a green clean company. We only used vinegar, baking soda and an essential oils for a fresh, lively and energizing fragrance.
    There were times we encountered extremely dirty showers and bathtubs. Some showers and tubs needed extra help. In a desperate situation I tried this exact thing but with a leading dish soap (%awn). I used a utility cleaning brush. That shower glowed when I was done.
    It was a bathroom shared by three very athletic teenaged brothers.
    Mom was ecstatic!

    I had cleaning vinegar so I used that and dish soap from Aldi that I had on hand. I made a paste in the bottom of the tub with the baking soda mixture. Then I rubbed it all over the fiberglass and let it soak while I cleaned the rest of the bathroom. I rinsed it and then spray foamed window cleaner on it and buffed it. Looks like new. Thanks so much ❤

    Yes these items work well. I found that dish or a little laundry detergent cleans very well with or without adding vinegar. Let it sit a little bit then wipe and rinse. Doesn't need a lot of scrubbing either. 😊

      Your welcome. Please note...if you leave the vinegar and baking soda mix for to long they cancel each other out. Works best if you can get it applied while the chemical reaction is still going on. So only mix a little at a time. And use it right then. Or spray with vinegar & dawn mixture and then rub baking soda on with a rag or sponge so it can react

      There is cleaning vinegar and white vinegar. They are probably using cleaning vinegar that is more concentrated.

    Does this work in plastic tubs? We have yellowish spot and the top flat surface is yellowed around perimeter. I’ve tried all the cleaners as well minus the baking soda trick. But heard you mention fiberglass so wasn’t sure. Thank you

    • @blamshiza
      @blamshiza 6 месяцев назад +1

      My plastic tub insert in my new-to-me home was heavily discolored with rust stains from hard well water. Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser, acid based gentle abrasive paste, under $2.50 a bottle and doesn't need much, worked surprisingly well. I've lived here over a year and a half, and only now have a sparkling tub for the first time. Which I'm (finally) proud of, if you can't tell lol
      Basically, a gently abrasive paste or cream, much like the helpful gentleman here DIY'ed, which seemed key, in addition to some acidity. Pretty much wiped away when allowed a few minutes to dwell/drip at full concentration; but I wanted to use as little product as necessary, so I spread and lightly scrubbed with a generic Magic Eraser (also a relatively gentle abrasive, but go easy on scrubbing since it's essentially a very very gentle sandpaper), made fast/easy work of a task I previously had little success with and much frustration!
      After, I put a little car wax/spray sealant on the walls and fixtures to hopefully add a protective layer and prevent buildup. Really made the tub shine lol. But also made it slick.. so.. maybe skip this step. Likely not necessary in the grand scheme, and comes with some important caveats: Can make the tub floor slippery if any drips, so avoid that, and I probably wouldn't recommend it in a guest bath, or if children/elderly/at-risk in the house!
      Previously, I tried a bunch of DIY mixes with a drill brush, but much more labor intensive and likely too abrasive as a repeated go-to. As a rule, acid based cleaners for mineral build up, like iron/calcium etc, and alkaline based cleaners for soap scum/fats/oils/greases. Allow a few minutes dwell time. Vinegar is acidic, but the baking soda is alkaline; combining them together basically neutralizes the other and leaves you with a (relatively) neutral (depending on your mix proportions) salt paste.
      Hope you find something that works for you! I know how frustrating and embarrassing it can be, especially in a guest bath when hosting, or not experiencing success with my honey-do list ha, but it's empowering when you find solutions for your given task/situation!
      Good luck!
