I found a razor blade scraper that has a hard plastic blade. No scratching and safe. I found it at Ace Hardware. It works great!
That soap scum scraping was the best part!
I want to clean that light switch and door frame so bad 🤩 little dawn power wash and magic eraser...
One thing this shower needs (and every shower/tub needs for that matter) is a handheld showerhead. Makes cleaning a breeze; no more cups or buckets of water to splash around.
Totally agree! I have one at home and love it.
Agreed it helps so much
My thoughts exactly…love my handheld shower head, definitely makes rinsing easier.
Your videos give me the motivation and joy to clean my house. Thank you
That's what it's all about! 😃
I recently purchased a scraper from Amazon for something that was stuck on my parents granite countertop. It came with two plastic razors. I think I'll try scraping with those on the fiberglass since I'm not sure I trust myself to be able to scrape without doing damage with a metal razor.
I wonder if they have hard water - it adds an extra layer of grime for sure. Looks good!
This video was so postive and helpful for cleaning! Youre awesome!
so satisfying, great job!
THANK YOU for the product rec!! I have been using odoban because it's very effective on mold/fungi and also pet urine/odor (will continue to spot treat hard surfaces with pet waste with that) but odoban is a respiratory hazard and breaking out the gas mask and $$ organic volatile filtering cartridges every time I deep clean a bathroom is expensive and annoying!! Adding this to my pro kit immediately!!
Fantastic job! 🤩
Thanks for the tip 👍 I’m amazed at how dirty people allow their showers to get 😅yikes
That's easy to say when you have no information about the individual living here. You have no idea what their physical limitations are ( do they have a disability, limited range of motion, elderly, just had a major accident or surgery), mental status or what their day to day load is like ( working multiple jobs, single parent, care giver).
At least ther is evidence they are showering and they reached out for help
@@ashliwesleysingleton4917 I think you need to back off as you have no idea as to what my experiences are in these type of situations. I own a bio-medical janitorial service and believe me I speak from experience not just an opinion but I appreciate your input regardless

I wasn't attacking you, I was simply adding to the conversation. I made no assumptions about you or anyone else when I made the statement. Just like I stated that we do not know where other's are coming from, I do not/did not know where you were coming from. In the same breath, we cannot see everyone's problems wether they be physical or mental. My comment was just to highlight this because it is so easy to see something like this and make an instant judgment. Others may be so used to one way of thinking and never considered these things.
Have this exact shower. It is a pain to clean thanks to that acrylic bar, if I let it get too bad. Dawn + vinegar handles most of it, but Barkeepers Friend is needed almost always for the non-stick, floor. I call it that because when there's soap scum, it is extremely slippery. The vinegar makes the acrylic bar really clear, but getting to the back side of it is hard for big hands.
Spray with vinegar,
Wait 15 minutes, - do something else
Come back,
Run over everything with the Ryobi scrub brush - less than 5 min if it is really dirty
Look for places missed or that need more scrubbing, add Barkeepers Friend and scrub with the Ryobi again.
Rinse.
Total actual time, about 27 min.
Total time working on the tub/shower, about 8 minutes.
I wonder if one of those long exfoliating scrubber bands would help with the back side of the acrylic bar? They're a strip of material with grip loops on either end for scrubbing your back, but I suspect you could use it sort of like if you were buffing a freshly shined pair of shoes. (I hope I'm explaining that clearly enough.)
@@TheReflectivePerspective Can't believe I didn't think of that! Thanks!
@jpflu3754 So happy to be (potentially) helpful! I hope it works and please let me know how it goes if you wouldn't mind!
@@TheReflectivePerspective So, I just used a 2-towel system with the vinegar+dawn spray and shined it like a shoe. Let the vinegar handle the hard work. Now that it's clean, I just need to spray and wipe the entire shower/tub with the 2-towel system 10 minutes before a shower. Let the showering be rinse. Vinegar can destroy metals if left on. Learned that the hard way.
@jpflu3754 That's fantastic news! Sounds as if it worked like a charm and I'm so glad to hear it! Thanks for updating me!
Showers are always my biggest battle with cleaning. They are always so gross and crusty and it doesn’t clean up very easily for me I usually clean them every other week in my house. We have 2 bathrooms and so one week I’ll do the downstairs bathroom and the next week I’ll do the upstairs bathroom and switch back and forth so I don’t get extremely burnt out and overwhelmed. Very cool instructional video 😊
I appreciate this channel sooòooo much.
Thank you for watching! 😀
Brandon, when you use a scrub daddy, could you mention if you dipped it in cold or warm water so we'll know if the scrub daddy was hard or soft? Thank you.
Very good job 👍🏻
Looks great
Such a great job on that shower!!!
Wow I'm impressed. Love you video BTW.
Ewww. Look at the walls. Do you clean walls too? How would you clean that nasty wall?
Yes! we ended up cleaning the whole bathroom later on. I like Zep's foaming wall cleaner for greasy fingerprints.
Beautiful work! How long did it take you to complete?
Great Job!! How long did it take from start to finish.
for the drill brush, do you clean the brush between each use, or do you just swap it out?
Using a plastic scraper makes sense, but a true razor blade scraper?!😮
yeah, I'm afraid that applying too much pressure or having the blade at the wrong angle will damage the finish and make more problems that having a less-than-stellar-clean tub/shower surround.
Yes be careful. I scraped my surface a few times
I really need to get the drill brush im still having a hrad time with my batbroom shower. But I will try again.
I always thought ppl were just using regular power tools 😅
Question--how would I clean the soapscum from a fiberglass tub and liner that has a pebbly texture? I have tried many things with limited success, your expertise would be welcome! Thank you!
This tub had a nonslip texture. I like barkeepers friend soft cleanser and the scrub brush used in this video. The textured base of the tub is great for safety but can be a big mess! 😄
Barkeepers absolutely is the best
So cool
Regarding soap scum: I did a little research and found that soap bars containing talc were the biggest culprits. So now I read the ingredients on the bar. Body wash does not seem to leave soap scum either.
Hi! My fiberglass tub/shower combo was painted white about 14 yes ago. Originally it was blue from the 80's. Can I use a rasor blade on it! There is soap scum build up. Thanks in advance!❤
Try my process. Test it first!
Wet the shower down. Combine equal parts Dawn and white vinegar. Apply liberally and scrub it gently. Walk away. And let it sit for 15 minutes. Come back and scrub gently again. Rinse. Repeat if necessary.
Know that any method that removes the soap scum might remove your paint. So test first.
@@dorothyyoung8231 Thanks!
Does this include the walls above the shower as well?
Thanks.
The trick to keeping fiberglass shower/tub clean is to wipe it down everyday after you shower. Moisture is the enemy.
My parents made us do that, after every use.
Can you use these products on natural stone showers? Mine is travertine. Which ones can I use? Please list them in reply. 😊
I have a stall shower in my basement. The pan at the bottom appears to be discolored. It looks yellow. Is there anything that might brighten it? It was this way when I bought the house
How much time did you spend to get such a great 👍 cleaning?
Excellent results.
That's what i was wondering too!
😅 It took a while
@@CleanThatUp I do really can imagine it to get a such great job!
How do we know which cleansers are safe to use together tho?
Your "hi" was cute. Wow, that bathroom is nasty. Did you notice the wall, light switch and door trim? Ugh.
Oh my. It’s nice to have an immaculate shower but I hope the rest of the bathroom got a good scrub too. 😅
Would a Lodge plastic pan scraper work in place of the razor blade?
You could try that! This was a particularly dirty shower, for most cleans you could just use the BKF More spray and it would clean up great.😃
Hey I've got a question for ya, my bathroom in my apartment has one of those horrible popcorn ceilings, and above the shower it's always covered in mold. What would be a good way to clean it up? Would spraying some of that In-cide disinfectant on it be enough to kill the mold?
Careful with popcorn. If it's original and hasn't been painted over or something, then wiping/scrubbing it might cause it to come down. Could be a little flake, could be big patches. It doesn't like humidity.
If it's been painted, it might be sturdier, but hope you never have to remove it on purpose.
If you're renting an apartment, get your landlord to deal with mold. Don't take on the liability for yourself.
@@institches2750 Appreciate the help, I probably will just contact the apartment management about it, unfortunately getting them to send maintenance over for anything is quite a chore...
@@mikalemadden1762 Yeah, that stinks. I never understand why they do that. It costs THEM more money to ignore ongoing problems until they become disasters.
If you want to try to corral it in the meantime, you can try a fungicide spray and see how if that controls the growth without scrubbing. That's probably what maintenance will try first.
And try not to let humidity build up in the bathroom. Run the fan if you have one, and leave the door open after showering.
@institches2750 Yeah, I always try to deal with the humidity as best as I can, but unfortunately, I live in Florida...
I bet they were using ivory soap. Looks like it to me. That stuff makes a ton of soap scum! Great transformation👏👏
Could be...
Makes you think that the soap isn't really making you clean 😅
What shoes do you wear while cleaning?
I’m wondering what pants he used for cleaning
Absolutely I use it with every bathroom I clean. Easier. Scrub daddy I also use. Plus I leave a new one@ every hm I clean.. My clients are thrilled. ❤
You can still see how hard you were working as your shirt is drenched.
That would have been even cool if you would have showed use how you would have clean grim off the wall
Kindly iron out outdoor
Almost no scrubbing and easy rinse
Every try plastic razor blades?
🤮
😮🤢🤢
You’re not cleaning with that blade
You’re shaving off a layer of the fiberglass
That was my concern too.
Yeah. I absolutely seen that when I bought my razor it was rough.
Gotta do what ya gotta do
Unbelievable
Kindly iron out outdoor with almost no scrubbing
The smell is ghastly though kindly
