    This is almost exactly how we clean walls in the hospital. Of course we use different chemicals and we don’t wipe vertically, but starting at the top of the wall using horizontal strokes.

    Save time: Have multiple flat mop heads in clean water, enough water to dampen them, and drop the dirty ones in a separate bucket to be cleaned at the end of the project or day. In my custodian job, we used rectangular buckets with the clean mop heads lying stacked in cleaning solution so we could put the mop handle head directly onto the fresh mop head.

    The end is very validating as someone who sells paint! Everyone wants to put flat and matte in their bathrooms of all places and you'd be surprised how hard it is to convince people it's super impractical in general 😂

      The apartment I am currently living in has them and it’s a nightmare. I found dusting and steam cleaning doesn’t completely clean them, especially close to radiators and the only way is to repaint. 😢

      @phillipcoo what is the best paint for the bathroom? Mine always ends up with oil stains over time.

    • @AltruisticWarrior
      @AltruisticWarrior 27 дней назад +8

      A high quality Matte paint is actually fantastic and does have the ability to be cleaned to a degree. It's easy to paint over damage and spots after renters and such without any excessively shiny spots. However, should never use it in a kitchen or bathroom, that's just crazy. I mean... at minimum eggshell to repel grease and moisture and even then.

      The renovators failed to do a good job then. Any decent minded construction crew will take care to have proper dust control methods in place, in a finished home with occupants.

      Builders often use a lesser grade of paint with the expectation that the purchaser will paint using their preferred colours. There are different grades of paint available. Some offering exceptional performance and quality finishes that are scrubible in all finishes

      Semi gloss shows highlights every flaw on walls and, outside of kitchens and bathrooms, is usually reserved for trim. Go with satin or eggshell for most walls. You'll be able to clean it but have a nicer looking finish.

About 50/50: they either said “of course, every spring and fall!” Or “I’ve never heard of washing walls.” It was one or the other. No one said “I know I should, but I don’t.”
