I just put a Blaze PowerSwitch kit and SDHQ Billet terminals on my Tacoma with some BD Squadron ditch lights the other week. Not the cheapest system, but in terms of quality and upgrade-ability it is second to none. All properly terminated, heat shrunk and sleeved cable, all stainless hardware; absolutely killer.
… interesting vid. Not much of an electrical-guy either, although my Dad was an Electrician, but I wired up to the Aux switches. I found it super-easy and works without issues.
The Apple CarPlay app integration is the killer feature there. I don’t want to add one of those accessory auxiliary switches because they always look awkward. For these switches to be built into CarPlay is awesome.
Battery life will vary dramatically based on a number of factors. Battery type, amp draw, and battery health are all big factors. You can actually monitor your battery voltage on the PowerSwitch app though, so you can easily see how much power you are drawing and what that is doing to your battery. Every build is different, but as long as you keep an eye on your voltage and don’t go too low there you’ll be good! For most people they can use smaller lights for a few hours with no issues.
That just stopped working. Checked fuses and they’re all good. Chased wires and couldn’t find anything. Odd cause they illuminate. And aux6 still worked but none of the rest did
@@OFFTHEGRIND I’m not hating on you either btw! I can see how that came across negative and I apologize for that, I just figured this was just a video to get some views is all. You and story till now are my favorite overland channels so keep up the good content
That’s fair. I honestly get really sensitive when my integrity is in question. Which I’m sure wasn’t your intent, but again I’m just a little too sensitive to that stuff. And no worries man. There are some issues on the forums addressing the same thing with varying degrees of luck in resolving the issues from what I’ve seen. But yeah I have no idea. Literally on aux 6 is work right now
So besides turning them on when the vehicle is off, why just not use the factor switches? The roof light wire is very thick, how did you run that? I like it just not sure its actually worth it until all the factory switches are used.
My factory switches stopped working, so I haven’t had fog lights or ditch lights in a long time. I spent a lot of time trying to track it down but could never find the problem. Everything appears to be in order. So this kit was necessary. Besides that though, having harnesses that are cut to length and not having to use relays is amazing. Makes for a very clean and easy install. In use, I didn’t have to worry about it at all. Normally the relays will unplug on the trail because it is bouncing around. Not have relays in the system means that’s no longer an issue. For the cable up the a pillar, they have rubber strips that you can tuck the harness in to that just adheres to the windshield. You can’t see it at all from inside and barely noticeable from the outside
Just shy of $800. The specific harnesses are in addition to that. Well worth the price in my opinion. This system is so rad blazeoffroad.com/products/ford-bronco-complete-garmin-powerswitch-kit?variant=48166699696428
The complete kit is $790, BUT we are currently having our once a year 20% off sale for Black Friday, bringing it down to $632, quite possibly the lowest price it will ever be, at only $130 more than the PowerSwitch itself!
Love your videos but those aren't true Amber, that's mountain dew yellow. Still a great video. Heretic lights are a true Amber. Still great lights and a really cool system.
You are absolutely right. At 3000 kelvin, these are a yellow while true amber is around 2500 kelvin. I call them amber out of pure habit. But thanks lol
Loving the build, and happy to be a part of it! We love helping people with their builds by making electrical easy!
@@BlazeOffRoad dude it couldn’t be more easy either! Freakin love this so much. Glad you guys are a part of it as well!!
Great stuff! Love your videos so much dude! Keep it up!
My boy getting the big time sponsors lately! Good work, man. Keep doing what you do - you’re really good at it.

Looks awesome and great info on how lighting types and color can help with visibility. The Garmin app is bad ass!

Dude you totally made it dark outside just so you could put lights on your truck. 😤
Got me

Wish they’d do something for the first gen broncos
How are you liking the bajadesigns over your previous diodynamic fogs?
So the Garmin PowerSwitch replaces the switches inside the bronco? So you don’t use them anymore or rather can’t use them anymore.
What do you think about the battery life whit all that extra equipment
Too soon to tell but I’m not concerned about it honestly.

My bronco does not have the AUX switches, so this would be a good option for that?
Oh heck yeah!! It would be perfect!
What are the issues with the Broncos stock aux switches?
@joshsweeten9317 oh you know whats happening with my bronco?? Thank god. 👎🏻

@@OFFTHEGRIND you are the first one I’ve seen have issues tbh.

How much for the Blaze electrical thing and Garmin unit. Not the lights

It’s not difficult to find a camp spot at night with stock headlights.
Extra lights don’t hurt though

Well, yeah. But not because of this install
