Lucky you got a good build, Owhyees killed mine with less than 10k. Also you don't need to restart the vehicle to fix the infotainment, hold the power + right seek button for 10secs.
Respect buddy. I might have got a Jeep if I fit in them better, but my shoulders are too wide. Even the Bronco isn't perfect, but gives me a bit more room. On the exterior, I'll give it to the Jeep Wrangler, they look better, I would give the Bronco the win on the interior. Heard the Wrangler's less noisy on the inside than the Bronco too. Competition is healthy, hats off to the Wranglers, they certainly "paved" the way for the offroading community. Don't be offended if the Bronco guys give you the wave, one of them might be me!
@@eskimocheeks9911 YT does not like my comment and keeps censoring it. I will split it into multiple comments to try to isolate which word or phrase is triggering its AI algorithm. Check out the Avalanche Gray painted 2-door *WITH* *TOP* *OFF* at the Advanced Fiberglass Concepts flared fenders. For me that looks better than a JL Wrangler which I had also admired. For me the Wrangler design is starting to look tired and too many of the on the road. Ford will probably go bankrupt and be forced by the EPA to stop producing ICEVs before they ever build 100,000 2-door Broncos, thus will be more rare. The overriding issue though is I want a dual use vehicle and solid front axle is not going to be comfortable enough. And the Jeeps have a ton of long-term problems such as the doors corroding at the hinges, they rust really bad, electrical glitches, etc.. The parent company has atrocious quality control. That said, I would prefer the 6-cylinder in the Wrangler to that Ecoboost junk with turbo lag. If I buy a Bronco, I will gut out all that modern electronics junk (including the digital dash and stupid laptop screen on the dash in modern vehicles which I absolutely abhor) and swap in a V8.
Someone brought up an interesting point for overlanding. You have a log of gear that either sits directly behind in a SUV or sits in the bed with a truck. If you are ever involved in a serious crash, the gear in the SUV is likely to be forced up into the passenger area of the SUV while in the pickup you are protected by the cab of the truck. Just something to consider when choosing a truck or SUV. They both have their advantages. PS: I owned a 2005 Tacoma and agree with the fact that they aren't very comfortable. They seem to be working on it for 2024 model, time will tell.
@@jeffk464 another reason to add to my desire to fabricate a short-bed version of an Access Cab (i.e. not Crew Cab) style pickup. But I will probably start with a 1990s C/K1500 Extended Cab or my 2-door 99 Chevy Tahoe converted to a pickup. Suicide door is only on the passenger side. It rides very comfortably, has a lot of interior room and a more room for the proper rear seating. Never driven a Tacoma. I did drive a 1990s era V-6 S-10 and it was much more dinky and not the 𝐶𝑜𝑤𝑏𝑜𝑦 𝐶𝑎𝑑𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑐 feel of my at that 1999 4-door Yukon.
Hey man, just want to genuinely tell you that YOU'RE the guy I take the most seriously on these Bronco reviews. Real, genuine opinions, you touch base on things real people are going to care about and you actually use your Bronco and you're not posing as somebody who beats the piss out of their vehicle for bragging rights on being a real "off roader". You're using your Bronco more than 98% of people who buy one ever will, and I value your videos and opinions because of it. Thank you for your content. Whenever I see that you have made a new video about your Bronco, my day gets better. It's really made me calmer and more confident in my decision to get one. I'm almost ready to trade in my 2016 Tundra SR5 for a Badlands. Just holding out to see if the 2024 model has maybe a colour I'd like any better or maybe any minor updates that I would regret not waiting for if I made a purchase on a 2023. So far I'd get the same colour as you. Carbonized Grey right?
Thank you so much, I really truly appreciate that. I am always just fully upfront and honest about everything. Your guys trust in me is paramount and i also know the “influence” I may have so I never want to steer anyone wrong. I hope you give the bronco a shot! It’s such a great vehicle! I love it. And yes, carbonized grey
Love the FJ Cruiser. It's a shame they stopped making them. I actually really like the exterior on the FJ's but the interior is far from my favorite. Reliability wise, I think you got Wranglers and Bronco's beat, but I've never really talked to anybody who owns an FJ. Love to see them still on the road.
I have a 2021 First edition with 60K miles on it, and I will not on any other Vehicle I love it, my next Bronco will be the Raptor, its an amazing machine. I have had zero issues, but that happens with any vehicle. Jeeps have had almost 100 years of perfection. I am preparing to take it from the southern USA to the artic Ocean in Northern Canada.
As a Bronco owner for the past year I can say I love my Bronco. We live in Maine and travel quite a bit into New Brunswick and Quebec. Anything I've asked it to do has never been an issue, my confidence in my vehicle is nothing like I've had before in a 4x4. I have had jeeps, an FJ40 that I drove to Alaska, Tacomas, F-150's but this is a super capable truck. keep up the good work and I am subscribing!
That’s awesome to hear! Ford crushed it with this platform I think and I’m glad the issues people saw on initial release are not really a thing anymore. Thanks for the sub!
You can hold the power button and the right fast forward button to reset the radio without turning the car off. Works on my raptor , might be the same in the bronco.
I'm liking the bronco more and more. I was initially opposed due to my previous Eco Boost experience with my former F150. That said, the Bronco drivetrain is completely different and it really seems as if they have worked out many of the early kinks. I think I still have a couple good years left in my Tacoma, but I may end up going the same route as you eventually. Thanks for the update, glad it's working out well for you!
The eco boosts have had a really rough start from the inception. I do think that they are finding their groove now and are becoming good engines. But you should definitely join the bronco crew lol!
@@OFFTHEGRIND I watched a tear down video about the 2.3L Ecoboost at least had a design flaw in the engine block oil siping around the piston bores and head gaskets at least up until 2020ish. The lack of twin-scroll and thus turbo lag on the 2.7L is quite disappointing.
Oh and i showed my wife the video of yoyr wife driving your Bronco, which made her more confident to offroad ours. She did great and looks forward to learning much more. Thanks very much!
I own a big bend bronco riding it for a year now and i still love mine and i have no issue at all to be honest it’s fun to drive specially that 2.7 liter turbo ❤
Glad you still love it. I love mine! I just did a 35 day road trip, 5,000 miles. From Florida to Maine. Then drove to the eastern most point in the country. 4 days overlanding in the North Maine woods, most remote area east of the Mississippi. Then back to Florida a different route. I totally agree with how comfortable it is and how well it drives. I think you would like a phone mount. I did a 3 state road trip last year without one to see if I could get away with out having one. After that I realized I wanted one for the second screen and to always have my phone in the same place instead of randomly setting it places. Also could run the nav on the phone if your Bronco screen was being used as the front camera. I’d use GAIA on my phone and then have the standard nav on the Bronco screen. Id definitely get one.
21 BD SQ here. 50k and no issues. Still love it. For over 20 years I’ve leased two vehicles every two years, so I’ve driven a lot of stuff. I bought this bronco planning to keep it a long time. So far, I do not regret that decision.
Love these videos. The intro on this video is one of the best ever and I am an old RUclips junky! I have a First Edition with 14k on it and no issues. Every once in a while I will have weird glitch in the electronics with 4x4 but other than that it is flawless. I actually bought the iKamper and the TrailRax system because of your videos.
Thanks man! I had fun with that intro! Glad to hear your really not having issues with it, especially being a first edition. Also glad I could help you! TrailRax and ikamper is the dream team haha!
I heard you say the ride and drive you really enjoy I got rid of a 23 Silverado Highcountry had several of them. My legs and back hurts so bad driving it that was the first thing I noticed to our trip to visit my in-laws with my girlfriend and my back and legs didn’t hurt. I really enjoyed driving mine so it’s nice to see that other people enjoy driving there as well and have no pain going for a nice spin, I’ve always been Chevrolet owner first Ford ever bought. I really enjoy and love it. Thanks for your video.
Wicked intro! I've had mine for a year and a half and no issues..... Except stuff I broke haha. I hate the stock sound system. Still working on that. I have a trailrax on the way, can't wait for that.
Hahaha yeah you don’t seem to be kind on your bronco lol! Like I said, I feel like I should have a problem with the sound system, but I just don’t haha
Just got my Badlands Sasquatch a month ago and I love the way it drives and feels. I was worried about the sound system after reading the reviews but I’m quite happy with it.
Awesome video… I just got my 2023 base Sasquatch 4 door also in carbonized grey back in may & I absolutely love it! But I am a die hard ford guy… mine has everything I need & less things that can go wrong as far as electrical.. I got the 8 inch screen… toggle switches up above.. 2.7 grey/black clothe seats… hard top. No electric seats no dual climate control no heated seats etc. but still seems like it came with a lot for the $ my main things were the Sasquatch package big tires lift lockers all under warranty & the bigger motor… plan on doing the same thing your doing with yours… these broncos are amazing & I just had to have one goes good with my 2019 mustang GT PP1! 👍🏼again thanks for the video… oh and the carbonized grey you just can’t go wrong with grey!!!
I own both a Jeep and a Bronco and I love them both! I take the Bronco off road a lot more than the Jeep though because frankly, it's a LOT more comfortable both on road and off. Along with more room for gear I would much rather be in the Bronco for a cross country trip than the Jeep.
22’+ a lot of issues went away, ford really listened after the launch year and put in the work. The 2.7 eco boost is dual injected, which really helps long term reliability. As for your car play issue, ford has had that problem for since the original sync 1. I see these broncos especially 23+ being one of fords more reliable vehicles. Awesome videos as well.
I have watched a good 20-30 bronco reviews and your review seems the most genuine and honest. I’ve been so torn between getting a bronco, 4Runner , tundra or wrangler Willy’s. I am about 90% on the bronco. I feel the 2023 models have the least reports of problems
Thank you! I will never mislead you guys. Without your trust, I fail, so I will always be honest with you. Yeah the 2021 and early 22s had some issues. But they seemed to really hash all that out halfway through last year. And I know for a fact that does is taking all those issues extremely seriously and all broncos being produced now and thoroughly QCd prior to shipping
I think the car play issues is with carplay. I recently got an iphone 15 that had occasional trouble connecting with my 2019 Dodge Challenger. Just got a 2024 Bronco, and have exactly the same carplay connectivity problem. Exactly.
You know, I followed you because you had the Tacoma (I own one) and I have always loved your videos. I have even more respect for you that you chose not to put your dogs in the back of that Tacoma. No dog should ever be placed back there. You have excellent information. Thank you
I really appreciate that, and thank you for sticking around even with the vehicle change! Ultimately, it is not about the vehicle, it is about the adventure
When the CarPlay fails to connect, press and hold the radio power button and the right arrow button together for 10 seconds for a hard reset without turning off the truck.
Absolutely correct. The pistons in my 2021 Bronco (Badlands sasquatch) disintegrated. Ford tried to shift blame on me. I never off-roaded the truck and took real good care of it. But when NTSB intervened , all of a sudden Ford changed its tune. After they fixed my truck, I turned around and sold it. Maybe when Ford fixed all of the problems, I'll reconsider buying another one down the road. I know a lot of people who got rid off their Bronco and feel the same way I do.
The not connecting thing is the Ford Sync, I had it happen in my F150 Raptor alot. The f150 was very comfortable but I had to stop alot because it puts you to sleep. I had nitto Terra grapplers on it and they smoothed it out so much that you fall asleep. My Bronco has issues, the sound doesn't get loud enough and the road noise can get to some people. My Outer Banks with sasquatch, high, lux and all packages except the upfitter switches. I looked at the Raptor but seriously it was 20hp and bad shocks for another 50k. I bought a take off hood, grill and fenders from a wrecked Raptor for my eruption green and it looks nice. I went with a loaded outer banks because I wanted carpet and leather. The wild track is what I intended on buying but the seats being electric, the carpet and leather were much nicer. It seems to me that the Outer Banks is actually the top package and destroys the defender that LR let me take home for a weekend. It also was nicer than the trd Pro 4runner and the Tahoe which both felt very dated. Add the industry support, it was a no-brainer. I tried a jeep Rubicon and a gladiator but both were not nearly as refined as the Bronco. The Bronco does need another 60hp in my opinion. The lockers are good, I have tried every mode but snow/slush. I plan on using that mode this month. I haven't been able to get it stuck yet. I agree about the lockers, my Raptor had ARB Air lockers, aftermarket and they took a bit to lock.
if your Carplay only fails to connect once a week consider yourself lucky lol mine works properly about 60% of the time, but I have learned if you connect your phone to the charger within 2 minutes of turning on the vehicle it screws up the connectivity 100% of the time. so, turn it on and wait for it to connect (which take a while sometimes in my Nissan it was connected within 2 seconds of turning on the truck) then plug in the phone to charge.
I have a wrangler 4xe and love it, but I'm envious of the driving comfort these Bronco's seem to have. The wrangler isn't as bad as it's made out to be, but it's not great either, especially on 2+ hour trips. Once Ford makes some form of 4xe competitive model, I'll definitely consider one. Thanks for the vid!
I just bought my Bronco, it is used, 1 year old, Wildtrak 4 door! I cannot wait to go off road, we already took our vacation last month in our mustangs, got home and sold one, bought two Bronco's! Hubby got a 1 year old 2 door Wildtrak! He got his about a week and a half before me, so we were able to take his to the woods on July 4th and play! We had so much fun! We had jeeps years ago, but got into mustangs about 7 years ago and we are getting tired of pavement, ready to go back to the woods and nature. Is that the Trailrax system on your roof? We want that one or the one from Bad Ass tents, we cant decide which one to get. I also sold my Subaru Outback Wilderness, I kept my Thule bars and basket, but it looks like I may not be able to use them, these rack systems are so different. Thanks for the video! Makes me feel so much better about our choices!
Congratulations on getting a pair of broncos! That’s awesome! I’ve had a few mustangs in the past as well and I love them. Kinda miss them honestly. Yes it is a TrailRax rack. Honestly, there is no better rack on the market in my opinion. The pak rax system on the sides allows you carry way more weight cause it transfers the load to the tub of the rig rather than the roof itself. Happy to answer any more questions you have. If you have instagram you can reach out to me there. Also I have a link in the description if you choose to go with TrailRax that helps me out a ton. THANKS!! Again, congrats on the broncos!
@@eskimocheeks9911 The Subaru Outback Wilderness is an amazing vehicle! I loved it, it was just to small for what we want to do. My son has a Subaru Crosstrek in manual and he loves it! He said he will never get rid of it, he hates driving automatics.
I appreciate the comments about not needing the front locker. I keep going back and forth between a Black Diamond and Badlands. I would rather save $10k on purchase and spend it on my own upgrades. Eibach Coilover, wheels, tires and stereo etc. Love that you were crushing an old fashioned!
I never drove a Toyota product that I thought was comfortable or enjoyable except the Avalon and Lexus, and even then it was just comfortable. My F150 rides like a Cadillac. Love the way the Bronco looks but give me the comfort, power, and ride quiet of the F150 anyday.
Oh man. Wild you say that. My bronco is a vast improvement over the Tacoma. My mom has a 2015 f150 and I think the bronco rides better, but no idea what year yours is
Nicely done. I own a 4Runner TRD Pro and I hope Toyota makes the next Gen 4Runner with better clearances for off road. I also like the removable top and doors that the Bronco has. Great review and well paced as well. Cheers 🍻
So I have a 22 bronco Base with the Sasquatch package and I can tell you it's one of the most favorite vehicles I've ever owned. Don't get me wrong I still love my 19 F-150 and I'll never get rid of it but the power delivery between the 2.7 in the bronco and the 2.7 in my F-150 is a night-and-day difference.
I'm so happy you're happy with it! I've had the same Carplay issue. I haven't had enough time off road, but as it's a Badlands I don't really expect there to be issues. I love how it drives, but the soft-top road noise from the Sasquatch package affects my pleasure in driving somewhat. Still love it, and will be getting a hardtop version ASAP.
that’s where i’m at with my tacoma. i have a quicksand trd off road and i love the looks, capability, the mod market for it, and reliability; BUT, my back hurts so much after a good drive around town. and i’m a small 5’2” guy like. it’s rough.
The window rattle anytime it's not fully up or down is ridiculous, and no rain gutter while it's storming drives me insane if it's a drive thru or anything. Mine was awesome this last winter, tho and is extremely capable offroad. I just wish those annoyances were fixed because they are big to me after almost 40k miles. 😅
I don’t have the window rattle issue but I’m fully with you in the gutter! Don’t understand how that wasn’t addressed. But I’m with you, this thing is incredible in really all conditions
@unruinable138 I saw on the forum there’s a windows rattle fix but I’ve not ventured to attempt schedule a dealer visit. I’m imagining I’ll have to teach and show them what is needed. Maybe by now they’ve fixed it for others. Need to breakdown and call them.
@jessicadunn4898 I've had them adjust my windows but still, if it's open an inch to about 75% down the front 2 windows rattle going over bumps to the point it seems it'll rattle until it cracks 🤣. Other than that (and the gutter/screen gremlins occasionally), it's great to drive after 41,xxxk miles!
Love the laid back, kick back setting to discuss your Bronco marriage. :) I don't have SAS or 360 cameras but the stock 2022 2dr Badlands, hard top of course. I've owned mine for almost 11 months and just went over 28K miles - no issues (Thumbs Up). I've put the Trailrax on it, iKamper 3.0 mini (just bought their inflatable dual filler mattress - THUMBS UP! Today ROAM just listed their 95L as 'In Stock' so I pulled the trigger on that - going to be a game-changer for storage. I have the Baja Designs 3 light set up in the front bumper - connected to Aux 5 (quad) and Aux 4 (2 duals), and just installed their dual light w/amber filter on the spare tire bracket as a 'Chase Light' - connected to Aux 3. Do you have any additional exterior lighting? Do you have any thoughts or plans for an awning or an Annex/+ for the tent? I picked up the zipper adapter so I can order their older Annex, not the Annex+ (savings of around $200). Great job on your video editing, I look forward to your content.
Haha thanks! The whole goal of this was to be a chill kinda hangout with friends type feel so I’m glad it worked! Sounds like you have an awesome build going! Glad you’ve had no issues either. And dude, that air mattress is so freakin nice! I can never go back! For lighting I’m running diode dynamics. I have their fog pocket kit (amber for the quads, clear for the duals) up front and ditch lights as well in amber. I have chase lights but they’re not wired but that’s another story. So I just picked up the ikamper BDV. They have an annex coming out for it soon and I’ll be using that. I won’t be running any awning on the bronco itself
Bought my Wildtrax Sasquatch Lux Pkg HD Modular Bumper, and a few other BS options 2 days ago (day of strike). I didn't actually need all the Lux Pkg offered so I've been sitting in the garage for 2 days figuring this thing out. 🤣 I actually like the Bang Olufson sound system, you just have to put in surround and balance it the way you like it. Now that it's cooling down I'm about to tear this thing up. I might even paint a stripe on it, who knows.
The bronco really doesn’t like weight in the back. It tows good but the tow capacity is low. If you go that route then plan on addressing the rear suspension to add a higher spring rate
Just add some infinity reference mid ranges. Good price and fantasticly clear and clean. And most of them are a 3 ohm or 2 ohm which helps get all the power out of a stock system
Wouldn’t be a bad idea. I think this really needs tweeters though I’d say. Just sounds a little muddy at times and needs something on the high end to pinch through
It’s good you tried a new platform. I have considered a new Defender or a new Bronco and the cost disparity is severe (unless you go for a Bronco Raptor) and I start to sway towards the Bronco. The retro styling is the controversy for me. I like the retro looks but the style is a miss for me. Also it may be more comfortable but NVH is the other part of driver fatigue. Would I get one? I’m still very interested in one. Thanks for actually doing a realistic overland build and showcasing its capabilities in your videos. And great meeting you at OE PNW, hope to go trailing with you sometime.
So I didn’t refer to it directly I don’t think, but I definitely consider NVH in that. I would imagine a Land Rover would be far better in that regard, but I haven’t had an issue with any of that in the bronco causing fatigue. Like I said, it was worse in the Tacoma for me. It was great to meet you as well man. Had a great time chatting at expo. I’m sure we’ll run in to each other soon again and hopefully on the trail sometime
I came from driving an F150 with the 3.5L Ecoboost and sometimes I miss the power. I loved my truck and drove it hard for about 5 years until I sold it to get the Bronco. However, having the 2.3L 4 banger is no joke and it has taken me places I would never imagined. I am still in that honeymoon phases and loving every minute of it. The issue with the Apple Play seems to be a common one since I have the same thing happen to me every other week. It's really annoying but like you said a quick restart fixes it.
I’m shocked how much power they were able to get out of that 3 cylinder. I’ve heard it’s a great engine although I haven’t driven one myself. Glad you’re liking it!
Just a note on the CarPlay glitches, I’ve had a Subaru and gmc with CarPlay and both of those glitch as well. Probably an issue with CarPlay and not the bronco itself
Awesome video! New sub here! Today I sat in a Bronco that the sales lady owned. I just wanted to see if I fit (6'2"). The sales lady order hers with a soft-top. She said she would add a hardtop later because ordering a hardtop now will delay the order to be filled.
I’m at almost 2 years and 30,000 miles into a 4D Badlands with a soft top and Sasquatch. If I had to buy “today” I’m not sure what I’d do. Since Ford can’t turn around a custom order in a reasonable timeframe I’d probably end up in a Rubicon.
@@tmcnicho Just bought mine two days ago just under MSRP and the guy said I could probably take it across the street and sell it for more than I paid. Strike just hit and this dealer had over a 100 custom orders and they say about 65% are NOT buying them after waiting years for them.
I have a 23 bronco and my infotainment does the same thing but I also had it were the backup camera was on will driving or a black screen doesn’t happen often but it frustrates me
Fix for the carplay, if you have more than one phone or device connected to carplay, the issue you described will happen. Try only have your phone connected.
Even if there’s only one of the phones in the car? I’ll definitely try it but seems like this shouldn’t be an issue. Like I said, I’ll definitely try it all the same
My only problem with this type of vehicle is the price. Yes you can get cheaper trim levels but the fact that even the higher trim levels are 60 k plus is crazy to me. I have an outer banks Sasquatch on order that has a build date in less then a month. I test drove a wildtrak and thought it was cool but I though it wasn’t 65k cool because everything is just basic to me. My build comes right at 60K and I’m 25 and make decent money but I just picked up a second job just so I can save another 10-15 grand in the next 6 month just so I can put a decent down payment on it and still feel comfortable. I’m still not 100% sold that I’m going to get it just because of the payment I will have, even with 20% down I’m looking at over $800 just for the payment depending on the interest rate. If the higher end Broncos were about 20K less then it’s a no brainer I think 40K for that type of car is reasonable. That goes for jeeps, Tacoma’s, ETC. The price for cars nowadays is insane and it sucks for me in my 20s who would love to have a nice car but had to pay the price for it.
I hear ya buddy, I'm in my mid 30's and struggle with the same thing. I could probably settle for a Black Diamond as I'm not really looking to do any more than this guy is doing with his Bronco, but I live in Northern Canada and want the heated seats, steering wheel, and it bothers the hell out of me that you can't get an affordable Bronco unless it comes with the smaller screen. If I settled for the small screen, it would always be in the back of my mind how much I would enjoy the bigger one more. I shouldn't have to pay an extra 25K (Canadian) for a heated steering wheel and a screen. If I commit to the purchase, I'm going to drive the Bronco until it's dead. Hopefully it can last me 30 years. Doubt it, but I hope so.
Man, I did the exact same thing Ordered an Outer Banks at like 65K, which is cheaper than the 2023, then as the strike approached I got jumpy so I went out and shopped a 2023 and actually found a Wildtrax Sasquatch, Lux, HD bumper, w/few other BS opts. for $1000 under MSRP and guy let it go. Bit the bullet and got it(67,500). I don't think that Outer Banks will be shipped until next August. Only catch is I've got you by almost 25 years. Keep an eye out for the 2023 you may find one that someone has backed out on.
@@TEXCAP man thanks for the reply I actually just bought it a week ago I got lucky and it came in about 4 months. Bought it at exactly MSRP. If I didn’t buy it they would have sold it for 12k over.
@@OFFTHEGRIND yes i do truly love it, like I tell my friends that think it was a bad idea buying an expensive car. Im fully aware it’s a bad decision but I’m smart enough to budget to where I can live comfortably and still enjoy it. It’s been my dream car ever since they came out
What do you think of a hard top non Sas BD? I’m honestly not thinking I’ll be super technical rock crawling trying to hit lines and such, I just want a capable rig to go out and camp in nature
Man i loved this video! Ive been following your build and adventures and was pretty jealous when you did the Whipsaw with Shaun. I actually own land not far from there. Ive owned my Wildtrak for 2 months now and have driven 5000kms (3200 miles) and took it to Alberta to explore the National parks. I jnow what you mean by forming a connection. I cant wait for the future adventures and maybe visit the beautiful PNW for a trip with you some day. Cheers 🤟😎
Just did over 4500 miles on a road trip through Colorado Utah Wyoming South Dakota 13 states total no issues 30k in one year as of today😂 I’m like you my sound system is fine but I didn’t buy it for the system 😂😂
Hello. What model of Bronco should I buy? I would like to be able to take it to the mountains occasionally, but also I will be using it for work. I am thinking the badlands with sasquatch package, 4 door with a hard top.
Nobody can really tell you what model you should buy besides you. Badlands is more than capable of what you're likely ever going to use it for, but any lesser models might not have some of the little things that make a difference. Bigger screen, better sound system, heated steering wheel. It's all up to you what you're willing to pay for, these things aren't cheap.
In terms of having a safe spot for your dog in a truck bed, what was the reason for not opting for a camper shell on the Tacoma? Is a camper shell not well suited for off-road?
It’s fine for off road. I didn’t want them in the same compartment as all of our gear just floating around. Plus, in the summer when it get hot, they would be roasting back there. Ultimately that’s why we chose not to do that
Go watch lite bright Nation there's a awesome upgrade they just did to there Bronco Raptor you might be interested in before you have the issues they had off roading.
I don’t think there are that many issues with it. It’s just the few that have had issues get all the attention. This is a great rig and it hasn’t failed me yet
Great video, I just got my Bronco Wildtrak last May. I had a Badlands ordered for over 9 months in the same config as yours, then the dealer called me and said this Wildtrak came in and I when in and…. Decided to buy it! It has been amazing I added LOD trans skid and transfer skid leveled it and a few more things. Oh and I still have the Badlands on order will see if I want to keep it or not!
Heck yeah! Glad you’re loving it. The Wildtrak is such a great trim level. If you’re not doing crazy stuff and three wheeling all the time, that would be plenty!
I am at 9months and love my Bronco Badlands. Everyone asks me this question… How does it drive and I totally agree off and on road it’s super comfortable for long drives. Love the videos and keep on exploring.
Thank you! Glad this rig is working out for you as well. There’s few that have issues but those get all the attention. It’s annoying so I want to be a voice for the good experiences
@@OFFTHEGRIND13:29 you claim the road noise doesn’t inhibit conversations inside the vehicle yet others have claimed their wife and kids absolutely refused to ride in theirs for long trips due to the inability to carry a conversation. How do you square these divergent experiences and opinions? Do you have some form of sound deadening headliner on yours? Do you think perhaps they might have swapped their stock tires to something more noisy? Is perhaps your expectation much lower since you were coming from (as you alluded) a noisy, rough riding Tacoma pickup truck? I am trying to ascertain what the truth is and these divergent reviews have me confused. Thanks in advance for your response.
@@Anonymint-vj7bt I think it is likely twofold. Yes, I did come from a noisier vehicle, but my wife has an accord. The Bronco is not quiet inside by any means, but my wife and I have been able to have a conversation in it at highway speed, with my son sleeping in the back and not worried about talking so loud it would wake him up. We have never had an issue carrying a conversation in the Bronco. Second, the early hardtop had a lot of issues and road noise was a bit worse because of it. I have the second version of the roof after Ford addressed those issues so that could help as well.
@@OFFTHEGRIND thank you. Are you are aware of the unicorn Advanced Fiberglass Concepts hardtop which promises much more sound insulation but unfortunately they have been promising 8 to 12 weeks for over a year. Hopefully that will ship by October. Also Turn Overland just announced they are planning to build an improved hardtop (both initially only for the 4-door). Also perhaps those who made that comment were using a soft top.
Lucky you got a good build, Owhyees killed mine with less than 10k. Also you don't need to restart the vehicle to fix the infotainment, hold the power + right seek button for 10secs.
As a jeep guy, watching you wheel that thing, I hate how capable it is lol and you did a great job building it out. Nice video!
Hahaha I mean fords entire goal was to beat the Jeeps! Whether they succeeded on that is debatable but it’s still and incredible rig!! Thanks my man
Respect buddy.
Just hit the one year mark of ownership. Still loving the Bronco. Previously owned a Toyota FJ Cruiser.
The FJs are dope! Glad you’re still enjoying the bronco!
76k miles, 0 significant issues
If this works I owe you a beer lol
This does work. I’ve had to do this time to time.
It works!!
@rivaled with the pro tips that matter!
I hope your wife gets out there and eases in to it! It’s so much fun but important to take it slow and gain confidence over time
I own a big bend bronco riding it for a year now and i still love mine and i have no issue at all to be honest it’s fun to drive specially that 2.7 liter turbo ❤
@@OFFTHEGRIND what do you mean! haha. Yea... I use it for it's intended purpose....
Sound system isn’t bad. I have Lux system. Only thing ….I don’t like the rattle in the pillar back speakers when bass hits. Distorts the music.
Hard not to like a Bronco. Great rigs.
Agreed
Man I’ve had my Bronco for 6 months and I love it man absolutely an amazing vehicle. Btw love the videos man keep them coming. Blessings 🙏🏻
Thanks so much man! Glad you’re enjoying your bronco as well! Best vehicle I’ve ever owned
@@OFFTHEGRIND no problem at all. I am enjoying the heck out of my Bronco. Can relate my man best vehicle I’ve ever owned.
@@OFFTHEGRIND appreciate you brother
I have 22 wildtrack 23k miles haven’t had any problems and it’s really comfortable especially the leather seating
I have a 21 Bronco and zero issues so far. I'm actually amazed. If you want something comfortable on the road too, go with a Bronco.
Bronco had a really rough launch. I’m sorry you got caught up in it
The not connecting thing is the Ford Sync, I had it happen in my F150 Raptor alot.
100% Great Experience with my 2022 Bronco. One trip to the Dealer for a loose wire in the charging monitor system..
if your Carplay only fails to connect once a week consider yourself lucky lol mine works properly about 60% of the time, but I have learned if you connect your phone to the charger within 2 minutes of turning on the vehicle it screws up the connectivity 100% of the time. so, turn it on and wait for it to connect (which take a while sometimes in my Nissan it was connected within 2 seconds of turning on the truck) then plug in the phone to charge.
Have you taken it to the dealer yet? That seems like a huge problem
I am interested in the Subaru Outback Wilderness, but it doesn't come in manual so it's not my first choice. Seems like a good vehicle though.
@@eskimocheeks9911 The Subaru Outback Wilderness is an amazing vehicle! I loved it, it was just to small for what we want to do. My son has a Subaru Crosstrek in manual and he loves it! He said he will never get rid of it, he hates driving automatics.
Epic intro and good discussion. Still on the fence if I'm going to keep mine.
It was great meeting you at the PNW Expo!
Thank you! I hope you’re able to keep it, but you gotta do what makes sense for you obviously.
It was great to meet you as well!
because Ford helped with the production of it
If you hold the audio power button and the next button down for a few seconds it will reset Carplay.
I appreciate the comments about not needing the front locker. I keep going back and forth between a Black Diamond and Badlands. I would rather save $10k on purchase and spend it on my own upgrades. Eibach Coilover, wheels, tires and stereo etc. Love that you were crushing an old fashioned!
just found your channel - new subs here! loving it. beautiful landscape and fantastic drone shots. keep it goin, man!
Such a great rig! Love it! With the base you’re more involved in the drive and I bet it’s a blast
I owned a Bronco 11, had it for many years in Jamaica, on all types of road surfaces, goat tracks, and bush, and really would like to get one of these
Oh cool! I never see the bronco II’s around anymore. You would love this. It’d be quite a step up for sure
@@OFFTHEGRIND main problem I had with the Bronco 11 was the fuel pump, they never lasted. Mine was the 2.7 v6, manual transmission
THANKS FOR THE UPDATE AND REVIEW OF THE BRONCO !
2020 TRD PRO fan boy here. Im here for the man not the vehicle.
Well thanks!!
I can’t wait to get one of my own!!
that’s where i’m at with my tacoma. i have a quicksand trd off road and i love the looks, capability, the mod market for it, and reliability; BUT, my back hurts so much after a good drive around town. and i’m a small 5’2” guy like. it’s rough.
Try seat jackers to tilt it back a bit.
@@unruinable138 good to know! You’re way ahead of me. Granted I work from home. 14,000 miles.

Good perspective. You might want a mounting system for future and gear that there’s already a way to mount it without dash drilling.
IAG has a good mount that I’m looking at. I’ll probably do that and that doesn’t require drilling
Im honestly debating between one of these and a new ford ranger. I wanna tow an off-road teardrop and run some trailers that way.
Just sounds a little muddy at times and needs something on the high end to pinch through
Well done sir! Great talk!
If the Defender came in manual I would get one over the Bronco, but I wouldn't use it off road to the extent that this guy does.
Great elaboration on very important topics. I have a Badlands for many of these reasons, and wish it was a hard too Lux, which is on order
Just a note on the CarPlay glitches, I’ve had a Subaru and gmc with CarPlay and both of those glitch as well. Probably an issue with CarPlay and not the bronco itself
Where'd you get the protective pieces on the bottom on the doors? Ate they from ford? Rig looks great.
Came from a 23 Tacoma trail to a 24 Bronco badlands... Bronco all day!
Awesome video! New sub here! Today I sat in a Bronco that the sales lady owned. I just wanted to see if I fit (6'2"). The sales lady order hers with a soft-top. She said she would add a hardtop later because ordering a hardtop now will delay the order to be filled.
Need a walk around video on your build and overland set up
I’m about to go on a long trip but once I get back I will try and do that
I’m at almost 2 years and 30,000 miles into a 4D Badlands with a soft top and Sasquatch. If I had to buy “today” I’m not sure what I’d do. Since Ford can’t turn around a custom order in a reasonable timeframe I’d probably end up in a Rubicon.
I get that for sure. The wait would suck. But I don’t think there’s anything I’d want more, definitely not a Jeep so I would likely just wait it out
@@OFFTHEGRIND waiting too long isn’t an option for me. My bronco is my daily driver
@@tmcnicho Just bought mine two days ago just under MSRP and the guy said I could probably take it across the street and sell it for more than I paid. Strike just hit and this dealer had over a 100 custom orders and they say about 65% are NOT buying them after waiting years for them.
Love this! And the foreshadowing on the mammoth! Great video!
Thanks man! Gonna film the mammoth review this week! Expo kinda got in the way the week before last
I have a 23 bronco and my infotainment does the same thing but I also had it were the backup camera was on will driving or a black screen doesn’t happen often but it frustrates me
Fix for the carplay, if you have more than one phone or device connected to carplay, the issue you described will happen. Try only have your phone connected.
Even if there’s only one of the phones in the car? I’ll definitely try it but seems like this shouldn’t be an issue. Like I said, I’ll definitely try it all the same
Great video. Seems like a down to earth person.
Thanks!
Thank you David for your video. Keep up the great work.😎👍
Of course Eric! Thank you!
@gregaloisi6062 dude good for you!! Congratulations!! Do you love it?
@@OFFTHEGRIND yes i do truly love it, like I tell my friends that think it was a bad idea buying an expensive car. Im fully aware it’s a bad decision but I’m smart enough to budget to where I can live comfortably and still enjoy it. It’s been my dream car ever since they came out
Ive had the same issue with Android auto glitching
Cheers 🤟😎
Congrats on the new rig! I’m glad you’re enjoying it! Cheers
Started off strong with the chapters...
Love my bronco. Same color and badlands. Is your sound system the premium B&O (Lux package) or the standard sound system?
"Grab a drink, and let's get started." It's 5am, David. You're trying to be a bad influence.
I didn’t say what the drink had to be!! Lol although I’ve heard bourbon is good in coffe 🤷🏻♂️
@@OFFTHEGRIND I switched to teetotaler at age 34. That habit will be very bad for your liver as you age.
You leave everything attached to the Bronco at all times? Tent, gear etc?
Just did over 4500 miles on a road trip through Colorado Utah Wyoming South Dakota 13 states total no issues 30k in one year as of today😂 I’m like you my sound system is fine but I didn’t buy it for the system 😂😂
Dude that sounds epic!! I’d love to do a trip like that some day! And yeah the sound system is just fine haha not gonna touch it though
I'd love to get one but paying over 1k a month for a vehicle is not appealing to me. But it's nice to be able to afford it like you and many can.
I definitely wish it was more accessible. But the lower trim levels are still excellent options. I’ve heard the base is a crap ton of fun
Hi there. Admiring your watch what type are you wearing? Also great content thanks. About to rent a Bronco when I visit from Australia
Hey thanks! It’s a Casio ProTrek
Do the rear seats fold down FLAT, or do you have to remove them to get a flat surface?
In terms of having a safe spot for your dog in a truck bed, what was the reason for not opting for a camper shell on the Tacoma? Is a camper shell not well suited for off-road?
It’s fine for off road. I didn’t want them in the same compartment as all of our gear just floating around. Plus, in the summer when it get hot, they would be roasting back there. Ultimately that’s why we chose not to do that
Gotcha, thanks for the reply@@OFFTHEGRIND
With windows closed, does it suck in dust when on gravel roads?
Hello - I was thinking about buying a mammoth trailer like the one you had and was wondering why you sold yours? We're you having problems with it?
Go watch lite bright Nation there's a awesome upgrade they just did to there Bronco Raptor you might be interested in before you have the issues they had off roading.
I’m looking at a different solution for that problem. That problem is also blown way out of proportion but still something I plan on addressing
Have a video around your current build out!!!
Yeah I probably should do that at this point haha
Love the aggressive wide stance n big tires. But I would never spend 70k on a truck that has so much reliability issues.
I don’t think there are that many issues with it. It’s just the few that have had issues get all the attention. This is a great rig and it hasn’t failed me yet
What are your wheels in this video and offset?
I saw your mini 2.0 for sale! It would be a killer to have it! Let me know 🥳🤘🏼
Yeah it is! Reach out on IG if you want more info
Odd question. What watch are you wearing
I actually get that question a lot haha. It’s a Casio pro trek
Best looking SUV ever....except for the originals.
awesome video! is your bronco grey or blue?
Thanks! It is carbonized grey
thanks!@@OFFTHEGRIND
You love it.
Almost as much as maple, eh
Your getting a Gladiator, I knew it!
Trading her in tomorrow
I believe this video should be after 5 yrs of owning a new vehicle
well the vehicle isn't that old yet bud
the real question is, what watch are you wearing
lol it is a Casio pro trek
Yes. The 4wd engagement in the Tacoma is down right shameful as is the camera's.
I’m guessing yes 😁
You guess correctly!! Lol
What's that watch on your wrist?
It’s a Casio pro trek

Oh thank you very much for the answer! 👍🏻
Dogs in back of truck not good, good on you👍
Yeah man, just can’t do it. I love them too much to put them in that high of risk
