I’m just sitting here, wondering how the hell Seluvis is going to control Ranni…when Ranni had already casted away her own flesh many years ago
Well, apart from that, Ranni already knows Seluvis' plan, so it won't even happen either.
@redbird1571 too bad he doesn't know she knows..... who set the puppets to kill Pidia though?
At least that kind of explains how she knows if you're trying to poison her for Seluvis.
@trufreedom that was probably Ranni's doing. There's no way she doesn't know, her whole character is based on subterfuge and intelligence.
@@trufreedomit could have been Ranni’s doing, but another popular theory is that the Cuckoo Knights Pidia was puppeteering overcame his will and turned against him because of their intense hatred; as he is an Albinauric, a Carian, and a mage, all of which the Cuckoo Knights were sworn to eliminate with great prejudice.
finding this guy dead at the end of rannis quest was the only good thing that cameout of that mess, RIP my boy Blaidd and Iji
you can just pick up the finger slayer blade and it kills selivus immediately
wait is lji died??
@newboy5115 not if you don't tell him about blaidd
You have to tell iji about blaidd but yes, he an heros himself
@@newboy5115 Iji does sadly die at the end of the Ranni quest line before you enter the Erdtree.
His corpse will be ensnared in black flame, and several Black Knife Assassin corpses can be found around him, just like they are with Blaidd.
The beauty of his death is the speculation and perspectives it leaves behind, making you question exactly what had happened. Did he die fighting these assailants? Was it a suicide attempt, since we know his helm protects himself from the influence of the Greater Will? He was also quite guilt-stricken, too, for what he did to Blaidd.
Many questions, each with plausible answers, but not entirely concrete.
If you go into the hidden room in the ruins near Ranni's rise, you'll find a bed near his victims 💀
Ayo bro was wildin
Right next to a copy of sellen and right next to the nepheli puppet when you give her the potion
Of you follow through with Nepheli in this quest line you'll find her right beside said bed
I swear one of the weirdest and darkest Fromsoftware games moments 💀
what about Dung Eater lol
So when you meet Therolina at the Radhan Festival it is actually seluvis.
That's what I was thinking, which is why she doesn't talk either.... maybe
Pretty much. Consider Blaidd also there to help you defeat Radhan.
I'm not 100% sure but if I remember correctly bliadd or someone else comments on that basically saying seluvis sent one of his puppets(therolina) because he was to afraid to fight or didn't want to risk dieing to radahn
Seluvis is actually one of Pidia’s puppets and it was Pidia who wanted to Betray Ranni
Pidia is like the Jar jar binks of this quest line, if you know what I mean.
I'm sorry, Seluvis is a puppet?
@@redbirb1571just a wild speculation
@@KaIe_ I do..... the real phantom menace is the puppet master.....
Who set the puppets to kill Pidia though?
Well at least you can turn the Dung Eater into a puppet which he deserves
All will be eaten. All will be cursed. Then nobody will be cursed.
How?
@@DoppEff Give the potion to the Dung Eater when you see him sitting on the chair in the sewers of Leyndell instead of Nepheli.
My go to summon fr
Worth doing even for utility purposes on a later play though. He’s a pretty tanky summon.
"Who is Preceptor Seluvis in Elden Ring?"
Me: A DINGUS
Me when i met him: you're a dick
Also me when he finishes his introduction: uhhh... Ok, i raise you to an asshole
WAY too nice a word for him, but the appropriate ones would get immediately taken down by RUclips
@@allhandsondik7803 exactly! Hence, "dingus"
He’s a doctor of pruppets which hang on strings called marinara.
I didnt speak to him again after talking to Ranni and the gang until after he died. I forgot who he was and just took his clothes 💀
So THIS is the guy who made us maidenless
He stole my maiden, wtf! GET HIM!!
It's actually Godrick who kills our maiden, or at least heavily implies.
When you first enter the game, there's a dead maiden and large hole in the roof... Then you run into the Grafted Scion outside who attacks you. It's even told in game that he adds parts of the tarnished to himself.
@@edstockman5584huh I always thought that it was Varre who killed the maiden…
@edstockman5584 if it was Godrick then she would of been mutilated
@@ahumanbeing8371nah I don’t think he cared about the main character enough to do that, though he does mock you for it
Imagine if Therolina was actually supposed to be our Maiden but Seluvis got her before she could reach us.
i think the theory that the dead maiden we find at the start of the game was suposed to be our maiden murdered by Varre is a super cool hypothesis too
There is a dead maiden at the start?
@@DoppEff Yeah in the Chapel of Anticipation. Right in the opening room.
@@MasterKaiju doesn't she also have a message in front of her?
@@Howl4514Yeah the message says “Though the path be broken and uncertain, claim your place as Elden Lord!” Sounding pretty maiden like to me
And that is literally how you poke a dragon straight in the eye, marvel in your own brilliance and not even realize you died 5 minutes ago.
I'm just glad that seluvis dies in almost every single playthrough of Elden Ring regardless of whether the players notice or not. This brings me great joy
I gave the potion to Gideon and found seluvis dead in his tower lol.
@@DoppEff he dies once you give the fingerslayer blade to Ranni.
It’s so frustrating how no one understands Ranni’s plan. She is going to take the Elden Ring far away, down the eternal cold night, and leave The Land’s Between free from any outer gods. The citizens will no longer have to worry about any gods seeking the Elden Ring, and thus they are back to being mortal and free. She also offers the Tarnished to follow her on this path of eternal suffering and self sacrifice, essentially saying she wants the company of her consort, and the Tarnished accepts.
The reason why everyone thinks she is just plunging the world into darkness is in part because of players misunderstanding her words and also in part because of mistranslation. Her original Japanese translation makes her plan clearer
But isn’t that a flawed plan? The god of the scarlet rot doesn’t care for the Elden ring all that much, but would become much more strong in the vacuum left by the ring being taken away, also, same with the frenzied flame. They would probably have a field day with no Elden ring holding them back.
@@smurtle7959then the question pops up. So would you rather have more god or lords taking control? The three fingers still required powers from the Elden ring to do its job. To use it as a conduit to fully burn the world down(from my understanding). Scarlet rot goddess loses its foothold if you do millicentd quest although temporarily I’m sure. But comes down to whether mortals should have free will or not. Marika reign was evil and genocidal and discriminatory towards many different beings. So comes down to the mortals to protect themselves and dictate their own future for better or for worse. Comparative to the other endings it’s the whole point of this game. Either continue this cycle for your own ambition to lord over people thinking you know best. Or break the cycle and journey far for as long as you can with ranni to give the people the best chance at maintaining their free will
I don’t care if you have a guts profile pic ur still simping 🫵
@@spongebobsquarepants9146 I actually don’t like Ranni very much. I just actually know what her ending means. Solaire is the only FromSoft character I’ll simp for, praise the sun \[T]/
@@guts60 oh okay good \[T]/
Seluvis AKA Bill Cosby
Maybe it was because Seluvis turned Therolina into a puppet that our tarnished is maidenless?
Probably not, it's not certain but the maiden that wad near where we originally start the game was most likely meant for us, and Varre seems to know instantly that we, the player character, are maidenless, he probably had a hand in that, though again I don't have any solid proof, just a hunch so take it with a grain of salt.
Doesn't it look like she died by blood flame?
The same thing that varre uses@@VapidFart
@vapidfart oh its a very well known fan theory that Varre murdered our finger maiden in order to get us to join Mohg
it's pretty clear that varre is the one who murdered our maiden, as seen in the precipice of anticipation's starting room and the fact that varre wants us to join him.
Another option I heard is that Melina killed our maiden so she could take her place
Why would ranni even need to drink anything. She’s a damn soul in a doll. So his plan would never work.
Seluvius may have a very high intelligence. But wisdom was clearly his dump stat.
@@thespanishinquisition4078ranni also knew his entire plan too so bro was kind of screwed either way lol
I don’t think he knows that- she doesn’t even tell the Tarnished until we find her doll form and speak to it. She reluctantly lets us in on the plan.
Somebody give me the magic scorpion charm I cant keep this guy alive longer than 5 minutes
After which Seluvis fails before Ranni insults your breath and one shots you
I don't think bro was trying to control over the lands between though, I think he was just wilding if you know what I mean 💀💀
Those aren’t mutually exclusive. Imagine how many victims he could get for his harem if he controlled a literal goddess. Eipstein got nothing on him. >_>
Yeah, that's kinda the worst part, he had no grand design, he just wanted as many fuck puppets as he could get, and the more emotional harm he could inflict on others, the better.
I havent been so violently sick from a character in Souls since Pontiff. Just the thought of what he does to those puppets is enough to make me queezy, and how he preys on Nepheli at her lowest point. And its SO much worse that the most useful Scorpion talisman is locked to his quest, i actually have to interact with, and get praise from this sick bastard.
*laughs in Dung Eater*
That's honestly sinister.
He's someone with a really big hat!
I kinda forgot he was like a body snatching evil dude. I remember meeting him and he was a huge prick to me, I begrudgingly did his quest despite him being a prick. Then just never thought about him again. I didn’t even realize that was him when I found his body and clothes lol
Because of his actions, I have dubbed him In-Seluvis (Incel-uvis) and screw him over in every playthrough, giving his little concoction to Sir Gideon Ofnier.
Damn… what if Therolina was supposed to be our finger maiden but she was caught by Seluvis before she met us. 🤯
it's that or our maiden is the corpse in the chapel of anticipation
Yeah those 2 are most likely.
Either seluvis controlling therolina.
Or the other one which is possibly more interesting. The theory goes that varre killed our maiden (Chapel of anticipation).
In order to manipulate us due to us being maidenless, cus its kinda odd that the moment you leave the graveyard you see varre waiting
My money is on the varre one
Giving the potion to Nepheri Lou is beyond evil !
I remember being so shook the only time I fully completed this quest trying to give ranni the amber drought and she just says “you thought” and then just reads you for filth. And you can’t can’t even try to apologize or she’ll instakill you
If you go to the church of vow and use the dew you can continue her quest line
By the way, that little hideaway in the Carian Manor is both Seluvis and Sellen's creepy sex dungeon. Yes, both of them.
Source: The Preceptor's Secret.
You forgot to mention how he was under Rannis service to help put her soul i to a puppet bpdy and hide her into thw miniature Ranni. He is an obviously despicable person but was necessary. And on top of that his death pose is very puppetlike, which could mean he was a puppet himself
Seluvis also manage to make LMSH his puppet
Is there more to this lore? Like how and why he dies and it’s always in a wierd position
We all speculate he was a puppet controlled by Pidia.
@@LordTyrone1989who even is Pidia
@@ulysses5340 The albinauric on top of Carian manor. You have to complete Carian manor and drop on top of it. He dies once Ranni kills seluvis, so some people speculate Pidia was the one behind everything. I only found Pidia on my seventh playthrough 😅
Ranni knew about the plan to turn her into a puppet. Once you give the fingerslayer Blade to Ranni and she's ready to leave her tower, she kills seluvis. That's why you can't progress Ranni's quest If you wanna do Seluvis', because Ranni always kills him before leaving.
@@scalu730 ohh that guy. I almost forgot about him. Thanks for cleaning that out friend.
Man I love Elden Ring.
I just love how you find Seluvis slumped over in a Fallout 3 death animation. Lmfao.
I have one word to describe Selluvis, "Creep"
ironic. he tried -like his mistress- to rebel against these higher than him.
Seluvis has always been a victim of Pidia and was doomed to the fate of becoming a puppet from the beginning.
Seluvis was a puppet before you ever meet him, as Pidia is alarmed and recognizes you the "first" time you meet him.
Also the Puppet Room has a glowing sign marked "Seluvis Puppet" and "Do Not Touch". In addition to the fact that Seluvis adopts the uncontrolled Puppet pose when he dies.
Then why did pidas puppets turn on him?
@@kyle857
I don't think we ever get an outright explanation for why that happened.
Seluvis is already slumped before Pidia is ever attacked, and the puppets attack Pidia after Ranni claims the Fingerslayer Blade.
There are hints that Ranni has always been aware of the betrayal by "Seluvis" and is disappointed when you join his scheme.
For whatever reason, Ranni's departure always causes the puppets to attack Pidia, which gives the implication that Ranni is responsible for severing Pidia's control over the puppets.
Who's pidia?
@@HMOD-hs3wu
Pidia is the Albinaric* servant of the Carian Royal Family.
He can be found at Carian Manor on the second floor above the area that looks like a church sanctuary. You can get there by the cliff near Seluvis's Tower.
He surrounds himself with puppets and "conveniently" sells the map to the Amber Starlight for Seluvis's quest.
@@Battleguild ohh I've seen but never paid him any mind didn't think he would have such backstory
I wonder if the finger maiden was the players...
Ps he knows Radagon darkest secrets🤫
I love how everyone in the elden ring community hates the guy lol
Seluvis is the reason you never meet your intended maiden
Glorious serendipity
That man hooked me up with dung eater ash of war
This doesn’t really say anything as to “why” Seluvis tried to betray Ranni. 🤷♂️
Seluvis didn't develop the potion, it's a traditional potion of the Eternal Cities and has been used long before Seluvis. Piddia also used the Starlight potions to make Puppets.
I think Selivus is the best voiced character in the game. The actor 1000% nailed the "academic asshole" type.
I once found a message outside his door that read, "Behold Lord, But hole," and that is how I think of him to his day.
He sounds like an anime villian and professor snape had a child
Weird grapist magician trying to rope you into his plans
Seluvis wanted to turn Ranni's puppet into a puppet by supplanting her consciousness, which she can move at will and by a method none but her know. Good luck, sport.
Seluvis is what everyone though Mogh was for years and years before the DLC
I'll never forgive him for tricking me into killing Nepheli. I knew that Nepheli was having a rough time, and I thought a potion would help her. I had no idea Fromsoft would take away my best girl like that, it's awful. At least he dies at the end
Except that Seluvis himself is a puppet. The evidence for that is that, when he dies, he sits there in a deactivated puppet pose, rather than lying there like a dead body.
It's actually a mystery, Iji dies in the same position and I highly doubt that he's a puppet, so we can't really know for Seluvis either.
I always thought that was because Ranni wanted to give him a taste of his own medicine, literally
Bro if he just trotted his goofy as to ALMOST ANY other Demigod they would be either to dumb to realize what it was or would want to help and be powerful enough to help him give it to ranni, melenia, or most likely miquelea
I shudder to imagine a world where his quest can actually be successful
and then, We tricked his ass and now he's dead.
Tim is in excellent form this episode
I almost saw porch lights
Puppet master is only a Puppet himself of pidia in the upper level of manor who controls the soldier's on the manor grounds.
And then forgot ranni doesn’t have a stomach
the guy just turned up dead after i gave gideon his poison now i cant find ranni anywhere
She is going to the next part of her quest line
yeah you should be able to enter the Third Tower now Renna's Rise, and go through the teleporter to Nokstella
'Becoming master of a true god' the phrase continues with: 'but then fails and gets killed like the looser he is'
Never realized I been rocking his mask this whole time and I wondered where I got it from 💀
You left out that he himself is just a puppet of the real puppet master.
Except for how Seluvis was actually Pidia the albenauric merchant above the church bonfire and Seluvis was never real at all.
An ambitious man ..i respect that controling a demigod woud be cool
So he is the reason we are maidenless!
Nah Ranni was able to make a perfect copy of her mother, magic spells and all. Seluvis would’ve gotten dog rolled
This has me wondering if Radagon did this to Renalla. His mask's mouth looks like the cross-hatching often see behind Radagon, and his spirit-stealing juice is amber, like her egg
There's actually a theory that Seluvis is a puppet being controlled by the guy in the castle
I thought the demo version of Destinos was playing in the background 😭
But ranni’s body is already a puppet doll tho, i don’t think she can drink that
There’s also a theory that Seluvis isn’t even in control of his own will but rather another puppet that is owned by Pidia for Seluvis doesn’t look dead but rather turned off like the other puppets you can find and Pidia being killed at the same time.
But Ranni slayed her own body.
And his plan was to ASK HER to drink it. ASK. What kind of an advisor is he, if that's the best he could come up with, did Ranni keep him as a joke?
Has anyone ever finished his quest(besides for the magic scorpion charm)
I mean I just completed rabbis quest and got some cool summons I never knew about so like it’s a win win for me I also heard you can turn the lightning axe girl into a puppet
Dude a super villain
Love that armour set
I don’t ever sell Nepheli out to Seluvis. Dude is less than garbage. Plus, Nepheli’s questline gets me a free Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone so can’t beat that.
Seluvis is in reality just pidia’s puppet, as he is found dead in the same position as his toys strangely when ranni is turning pidia’s personal puppets against him. He was not an evil man and didn’t plan to betray Ranni. Pidia was and did.
The NTR protagonist was born to fail ... until the doujinshi release.
Gotta love Blaidd doing the best thing for Seluvis off screen while you're doing Ranni's quest in the underground city
seluvis dies right after you give ranni the knife thing
@Ginglover9000 Yeah, there's a message from Blaidd that he had a traitor to deal with so he leaves the Underground city to your Tarnished. Seluvis doesn't just die of a heart attack lmao
Thats big hat logan but elden
I never think about the morning star that's a good tip.
"The young Emperyian"? She's well older than selivus lbh here.
He's the guy I forgot to go accept the quest for before I finished the quest line.
Another point towards it being Pidia is that you can't attack him in that area. Seluvis, iirc, is able to be killed immediately after being an asshat on first meeting. Pretty sure I immediately killed him for the diss my first playthrough...
He died like the dog he is when he asked me to betray my waifu.
"young" brother shes thousands of yesrs old like every creature in the lands between
It's a pity that the game doesn't let the player kill him by themselves, it would've really been satisfying
I see a fatal flaw with your plan dude- dolls can’t drink potions.
OHHH WAS THIS THE GUY BEHIND BLAIDS DEATH? Like him being infected
See I really do be wanting to do some of his questlines but I just really don't care to see him succeed in any way shape or form
queen marika shattered the elden ring with her thighs. Just so you guys know
Thx didn’t know that fr
That’s canon, it’s in the lore..
@@AQ_77dark tark moment
Thats not actually why he was betrayed by him. The preceptors are sorceress that were placed as spys by Radagon when he was married to Renalla. He was one that worked under Caria and then under Ranni. Once he saw that Ranni would have been able to reach Godhood and overthrow the Golden Order, killing Radagon, he tried to stop us and therefore was then killed by Ranni to prevent him from killing us and then stopping us from killing Radagon and becoming Elden Lord.
At least the dude puppet thing has drip
Wait… HE’S the reason we’re maidenless??? What a runt
I found him dead in his tower... wondering how he even died. Is there something I missed?
Ranni Likely had him Killed. Or it was the Black knives when they killed Iji
occurs when you give the finger slayer blade to ranni, so you have to do his quest before that. otherwise it's not really mentioned lol
Blaidd leaves the player a note that says “there’s a traitor taken care of” at the same time Seluvis dies, implying Ranni ordered Blaidd to kill him after discovering his treachery, presumably by force feeding him one of his own potions (since his dead body is in the same pose as his puppets).
He dies if you either progress the Ranni’s quest to when you kill Radahn and unlock Nokron he probably tried to do his plan on his own and is killed by Blaidd. if you do his quest and give Ranni the potion he also dies maybe by Blaidd again
You forgot one pertinent detail. Seluvis is himself a puppet and we know this because Pidia is the puppeteer. Rannni specifically kills off Pidia with his own puppets in her quest line.
The pattern on his clothes looks like a solar system
By design
Talk about a misnamed video.
Did you miss that he was a puppet himself? Try going along with him next play-through and see how it works out.
Always curious if the draught would actually have worked as intended. Remember, there’s no indication she actually drank it. She just coldly tells us she’s not an idiot & knew all along what he intended.
Personally, I think he was delusional to believe he could so easily replicate his success on an Empyrean with just a few tweaks to the formula.
And if it did somehow succeed, eventually he’d slip up or get sabotaged. And once she was free, hell would feel like heaven after she was done with him. No matter what the result, it was never going to end well for him.
