One thing to add: Flashlights will wake these from a large distance borderline instantly. If you keep looking, they'll even slowly aggro from 20 meters. And a lot of people aren't aware of that. Turn your flashlights off.
I think smoke should be replaced with land mines if programming smoke to be consistent proves difficult for fatshark A landmine would use the Detonation charge animation fo set up and require being stepped on, but in exchange for the setup it should be a better/bigger shred grenade that can horde clear… but in oracticality, the team should alrady have consisten hording. So I got stealth daemon host the other day but I was playing maxed out kinetic deflector psyker. I went and tanked the thing for about 7 minutes...because my teammates decided to book it rather than shoot the thing. So it was at 60% health when it killed me
Great vid, one up for the (good) revolver is being able to take them out with one shot when they're sitting on the DH, 1 bullet doesn't draw the aggro a full auto spray does, unless that's just darktide being darktide.
My group usually runs with a shield Ogryn and a hammer Zealot, so Daemonhosts are really a non issue. Thanks for clarifying the crouch thing though, I definitely thought that did something.
In addition to nemesisnighoggr's comment you can circle a pillar or box or whatever whilst holding block and dodging round the object and hope your team mates help. The most difficult strat when caught in the open is to dodge left and right whilst facing the dh in time with it's right and left slashs whilst blocking.
A good way to survive is if you find a location with a stairs and a way to drop down quick, you can almost endlessly go around in circles, sometimes it will be stuck in a attack animation after you drop, given you time to build back up Stamina.
Oh and you're probably going to want mostly stamina regen, some block efficiency and maybe even a stamina curio depending of weapon set, class type and build.
Sincerely hope that that will stop those buffons from trigerring the deamon hosts. Recently had one trigger a deamonhost while we fought a plague ogryn. I don´t even know where he found that one as we were luring the ogryn further back.
I play on xbox, is there a way for you to test if the console has issues with the Daemonhost's second target? I've had it lock on to me when I was by far the furthest after the 1st person has died.
WIsh they would just make it worthwhile to kill them, like 50 plasteele and 50 diamonite or something, feels kinda bad having a complete mechanic in the game that 99.99% of players just avoid.
Cool video, could you do a video on a staff psyker build?, been running flame staff with force push and warp charges to pretty good results, been trying the gun psyker build to, but I was less successful with that, might just suck at the game who knows
New player here, only encountered a couple of DH (at lower levels of play still)....very first one was my bad, had no idea what it was. Although I'm an Ogryn main, so just put myself in a corner, planted my shield and tanked it until the team killed it..... was interesting. One question, I heard that if a psyker uses BB too close that will trigger it? Just asking as I intend to take each class to lvl 30 before I even think about running damnation, and would like to not be "that guy" when I do go into harder difficulties.
Also people that play Zealot probably already now this, do not use the Stragger skill of Zealot some what close to a Host, the skill has a huge range and it will aggro it, I did it way to many times until I noticed, Crouching make me feel safer.
There is no point anymore as it only kills one person which is super dull. We have all accidentally triggered one before. Kyte around some boxes helps. Devils claw party works as well
Hate smoothbrains triggering daemonhosts just because they have a build to kill it. You're weakening the teams position for no reason. Worst feeling in the world losing a maelstrom because some cocky zealot decided it was worth spreading corruption and losing 70% of their health to kill a monstrosity they couldve just walked around. Then you call them on it and theyre just like "git gud" when the next wave of specials hit and they get 1 tapped by a burster starting the snowball into a wipe. Just makes you wonder if that situation could've gone better if they just left well enough alone. An extra 70-100hp takes you a lot farther than most give it credit for. Dont be that scrub.
This just sounds like an extremely specific situation, I can’t imagine it being too common. Aggroing the DH is virtually necessary sometimes if it’s positioned in such an area where you can tell there’s a high chance it’ll get triggered shortly after during an onslaught of hordes and elites. In those circumstances, it’s far better to deal with it early than when a monstrosity spawns.
No, there are only really a couple ways that you can stealth, and those are with combat abilities for the Zealot and Veteran. Crouching can just make your hitbox a bit smaller, although that sometimes feels questionable when you are behind cover and are somehow getting hit just as much as standing out in the open lol
I mean stealthy as in not getting spotted by enemies as part of normal gameplay, where enemies are just standing around until they see you or you shoot them.
@@Xandros999 I believe the aggro works off of a radius, for example if you get too close to an enemy, they start to engage you. I don't think crouching affects it at all, considering the Daemonhost (essentially the Witch) gets triggered by being 8 meters or closer to it, crouching or not
One thing to add: Flashlights will wake these from a large distance borderline instantly. If you keep looking, they'll even slowly aggro from 20 meters.
