Another tip: Don’t dodge-slide when facing multiple crushers. If 2 of them stagger their overheads you will eat the second one before your slide animation finishes.
Glad to see you cover the rending and dot damage increase. It doesn't get talked about enough in my opinion. One of my new favourite weapons is the new chain axe for dealing with crushers, with the talent you described carapace DMG and bloodletting it's so easy to one hit kill a crusher in a single revved heavy attack. If they survive the hit the bleed will finish them if you need to focus on another target. Everything else dies easily to it as well. Great tips about their movement. 👍
Some weapon can easily knock down crushers, like plasmagun or trauma staff or ogryn's shield. Once they are on the ground, you can easily finish them off.
I tried knife against them and i discovered in the psykanium i'm just not good enough yet despite months of play. In game they arn't soley focussed on you so it makes them a lot easier in groups plsu teams mates help. So i switched to weapon i like better, the Deimos force sword and oh BOY you can bully them solo with that combined with purgatos and the crappy venting shriek to overstack Burn on them past 16 and boy you can handle multiple fairly easily, well i found it easier than knife. I'm so glad i followed your mod guide for the creature spawner, its very useful. Even just practicng dodges against bosses has improved my gameplay.
It really just depends on how good your combat blade is & which class you're using it with, I be having no problem using only the heavy attacks against them that doesn't take too much time to get rid of em 🤷🏾♂️ sometimes that can get complicated dealing with a few of them at one time.
Not that it's good, but DOTs apply Thunderous stacks which means if you are a psyker/zealot lighting up a horde with (soul)flames and switch to a combat axe/chain axe the Crushers become cottage cheese in about 3 seconds and start taking 100+ damage ticks. You can do the same with uncanny strikes, but you aren't softening them up for your team (only yourself) and it requires moving up to land headshots, but it also means you're using a good melee weapon like a knife or dueling sword instead of a combat axe.
18 to 66 is almost 4x the damage which is p big, but 66 damage against a crusher’s health pool is still not that much. that purg staff brittleness tip is nice, i might get a rending weakspot sword for my psyker and see how it does
Just being able to bully the crushers by staggering them with the Deimos push is great. Add in the push counting as a weakspot hit and adding the rending stack and Purgatos can be quite disgusting haha. If it means i can deal with multiple crushers (and i suck at this game) its pretty strong.
Rending also increases stagger effectiveness, so grabbing uncanny strike on a MK4 dueling sword and doing a H1 > Special gives you two quick pokes with a heavy stagger on the second which can be enough to stagger Crushers as long as they're not in their overhead animation.
So the rending node is dependant on the weapons original penetration value - same as increasing damage against an armor type. I.e. if weapon has 0 damage against Carapace, guess what, +25% against carapace, equals 0 ( 0+(0.25×0) = 0 ). I imagine it would be the same with rending/armor penetration. I dont know the exact mechanic for that, 0 may actually be like 1 or 2 damage, but even those with +10% mod is nothing. So basically, low armor pen weapon wont benefit, but high armor pen will. To me makes the node still useless.
Onslaught would be so busted if it wasn't all the way on the right side. Being able to kill a crusher from range when out of grenades got me through all of my auric games today.
Hey buddy, is there a chance you will make a video on regural psyker ? Purge or Surge. GunPsyker was great maybe you could provide advise on how you would setup staff psyker. Thx and keep up your work.
I made this video 3 weeks ago when I was arguing with someone about lacerate vs fleshtearer for bleed consistency and crit uptime. ruclips.net/video/Ay7KA_XtPbc/видео.htmlsi=Q75Cvuy80sOHWNvy Kinda perfectly illustrates your point about DoTs with Rending. I purposefully go for bodyshots instead of going for optimal kill times, and drop 6 crushers in under a minute with a crappy dagger. Personally I'm still not sure about what is better in regards to the original argument while I get off topic. Fleshtearer lets you chain headshots, but I really don't like not having a 100% option to start the scourge stacks outside of a CD pop.
What makes Onslaught even better afaik. Is that brittleness is applied -to- the Crusher. Making your teammates better at killing em too. While rending only applies to you. So -only you- is better at dealing with them.
I always saw the 10% rending as a talent you take for a small passive boost to damage similar to the minor ranged/melee nodes - definitely worth taking it you're going near that part of the tree but not worth majorly diverting for. It does seem very easy to pick it WITH onslaught though especially if getting the 20% ogryn damage.
Charged Trauma staff, Charged voidstrike staff, or use smite to stun them and let your team wail on them. Rending works well on them, too, if you're using melee.
Surge staff secondary shuts them right down. Takes several pulses to kill them, but they aren't attacking in the meantime. Purgatus staff primary staggers them (IIRC, its been a little while since I used the purg staff), follow up with brain burst or other to finish them.
Nice argument, however, you didn't kill 985 crushers at once like happens in my malice games.

My big boi eats Crushers and craps Toughness Replenishment.
Small argument for the old shovel, the way to deal with crushers is push attack

this is such a good video holy crap

wrong the right side has 2 of vets best nodes you want to go to it always anyways
@@TannerLindberg yeah but what about Marksman's Focus, survivalist, and frag grenade being all the way on the left
You just grab them anyways? As long as you dont wast points up top you have enough
I can split my attention no problem but some of this was actually really helpful.

i run it with finesse and i use piety over momentum on my shroud builds. so i have a base of 50% cc before scourge even kicks off.
Fair but there is always a poxwalker right behind you stopping you from dodging 100% of the time

That's what Brittleness does, it's team wide, Rending is personal

A crushers overhead ain't got SHIT on a storm vermin in vermintide 2.
Left dodge or back dodge for the overhead ?
depends on your dodge distance, left is universal but if you have a knife you can back dodge easily
Muted?
How do you deal with em as a psyker?
Staff or melee
Charged Trauma staff, Charged voidstrike staff, or use smite to stun them and let your team wail on them. Rending works well on them, too, if you're using melee.
